00:00The association issued a statement on Friday, saying the planned action is intended to draw attention to long-standing concerns
00:07affecting operators nationwide.
00:09Among the issues raised are the growing number of illegal PH and white-banned vehicles operating along designated maxi-taxi
00:17routes,
00:18delayed implementation of checkered-banned regulations, and unresolved policies governing the transfer of public service vehicle badges.

00:34safer access for operators and commuters at night, and calls for clearer regulations governing radio permits.
00:41Operators are also renewing calls for the maxi-taxi speed limit to be increased from 65 to 80 kilometers per
00:48hour,
00:49and for improved processing systems for interest city passes.
00:53The Association of Maxi-Taxi Trinidad and Tobago says, despite repeated promises from successive administrations,
01:00including the current government, many of the issues remain unresolved.
01:04It says the planned three-day rest and reflection period is aimed at pressing authorities to take meaningful action
01:11to address the concerns affecting the sector.
01:14The organization is also asking members of the public for understanding and support,
01:18should the action proceed as planned.
