00:06It is part of the narrative of their season.
00:09It's part of what they have to do to establish that it wasn't just one good year where they took

00:14where the schedule fell their way, where they set an NFL record for the most games they let at halftime.
00:22That struck me when he said that, that he was sort of owning up to it.
00:25And I think it also goes beyond just the team.
00:28It's also Drake May saying, I have to prove that I can replicate what I did.
00:32I have to prove that I can put up an MVP caliber performance year after year and that this wasn't
00:38a one-off.
00:39I heard you guys talking with Hawley earlier in the week about this a little bit.
00:43And I, look, I'm a big—
00:45We angered a lot of people, Chris, apparently, but go ahead.
00:48I'm a huge, as you know, I'm a huge Drake May guy.
00:51I advocated for them to draft him.
00:53I said, if he's still on the board, you sprint that card up there.
00:56However, I would lean closer to you guys—now, suck's a strong word,
01:00but I would lean closer to you guys than what Hawley was saying about his performance in the postseason.
01:05And I still think he has things to prove.
01:08And he's better than this guy, so I'm not saying he's going to be this guy.
01:12But, you know, Hawley was like, well, you know, he led the team in the Super Bowl.
01:15Like, done.
01:16Well, so did Colin Kaepernick.
01:18You know, how did the rest of his career go?
01:19And again, I'm not saying Drake May is going to be Colin Kaepernick from an on-the-field standpoint.
01:23But there are guys who have a great year or jump out, and it turns out that's not who they
01:28are the whole time.
01:29So I liked hearing Drake May say that both he and the team recognize and realize that they have to
01:36go out
01:36and prove that last year wasn't a one-off, and they have to prove that now that they are the
01:41hunted,
01:42not the hunters, that they can stand up to that and show you that they really are on that level.
