00:00Hello everyone, it's good to be here with you all once again, being with people who love to hear the
00:05Word of God.
00:06Today, if I had a title for today's message, I would call it,
00:10You're Carrying What God Never Gave You.
00:15Oh my, this text that I'm about to talk about today is a freeing text.
00:20Some of our heaviest burdens in life don't come from sin.
00:25They come from carrying responsibilities that God has never assigned to us.
00:32Peter gives us in one sentence in this text right here, he gives us a sentence that can free a
00:39man's soul.
00:41Let's listen to this text right here.
00:43Cast all your cares upon him, for he careth for you.
00:49This text is a command.
00:51Again, cast all, all, every single care that you have.
00:56Cast everything upon God.
00:59Many of us believe God.
01:02Many of us trust God, but we trust him selectionally.
01:04We trust God with our salvation, but we won't trust him with our reputation.
01:10We trust God with eternity, but we won't trust him with family matters.
01:15We trust God with heaven, but we won't trust God with courtroom situations.
01:19Oh, help us.
01:21We won't trust him in our finances.
01:23But whatever we do not give to God, whatever rules in our heart, whatever we refuse to give to God
01:32rules in our heart and causes anxiety.
01:36God does not want us to be anxiety ridden.
01:39And so he says, cast all your cares upon me.
01:43Now, this text is calling for a transfer.
01:46Cares off of me and upon him.
01:50The burden is not, this text is not saying that the burden disappears.
01:54It's saying that it changes shoulders from my shoulders onto the shoulders of God.
02:01If, if care stays on your shoulder, if care stays on my shoulder, then our anxiety grows.
02:07If care stays on my shoulder and your shoulder, then bitterness is forming our heart.
02:13If care stays on our shoulders, then the fatigue that we deal with multiplies.
02:20And God doesn't want us to be filled with anxiety.
02:23He doesn't want us to be bitter.
02:24He doesn't want us to be fatigued.
02:26We have peace to the degree that we obey this text, oh God.
02:31Not some of my cares, but Lord, help me.
02:33This is the need for prayer.
02:34Lord, I need to be in prayer and giving my concerns unto you and not carrying them around, not rehearsing
02:41all that all the time.
02:43Now, Jesus gives the reason why we're to cast our concerns on him.
02:46Because he cares for you.
02:48I care for you, I care for you, I care for you.
02:51I'm not irritated by your weakness, I care.
02:54I'm not exhausted by your persistence of coming after me.
02:57Please keep on coming, I care.
02:58I'm not confused by the situation you're going through.
03:00I care and I am able to deal with it.
03:04It is not, when we do not cast our cares on God, we're saying that I can handle this.
03:09And we're carrying things we were never intended to carry.
03:13And that's where all the problems come in.
03:15That's where all the frustration is.
03:16If we carry what we were supposed to give to God, then we are assigning to ourselves unnecessary struggle.
03:25We are burdened down spiritually.
03:28We are filled with anxiety.
03:30And this complicates our ability to be able to do God's will.
03:35Because we're so frustrated.
03:36Our minds are so fixated on the things of this world.
03:38Help us, O God, to cast our cares and concerns upon you, and not carry that which belongs to you.
03:46If my heart is burdened, then that belongs to you.
03:50Whatever it is that belongs to you.
03:51Help us, God, to give our burdens unto you, because you care it for our soul.
03:57In Jesus' name I pray and say, amen.
04:04Many women of God, let us keep on showing up in the word of God.
04:08Consistency builds us.
04:10As we're consistently coming to God, he reshaped our life.
04:13And that's what we want him to do.
04:16Oh, I'm praying for you guys.
04:17I am praying for myself.
04:19Let us grow together.
04:21Let us grow together.
