00:00Carmen will be going to the bullpen.
00:02We feel that this gives the team the best chance to win in all areas.
00:07And when you sit there and look at the other day,
00:11what Dottel was able to do behind Carmen on Monday,
00:15multiple innings coming out of the pen.
00:18And it gives us another huge weapon to be able to do that.
00:22Carmen has done a nice job as a starter and he also can fill that role in the pen,
00:26multiple innings as like a starting pitcher-ish, bulk, multi-inning,
00:31high leverage guy out of the pen that can come in.
00:34And I mean, I look at the game last night, 4-4 in the sixth.
00:37If he's out there, able to come in and throw three or four innings out of the pen,
00:42he provides a lot of value there.
00:44DK, what was that conversation like with Carmen?
00:46This is a guy who's wanted to start so bad.
00:48Obviously, he provides a lot of value out of the pen, but
00:51to make sure it's nothing against what he's put together this season with that
00:55messaging, it's just more of this is what's best for him.
00:57Yeah, there's no doubt.
00:58He's such a fierce competitor that we've talked about, obviously disappointed and
01:04has worked hard in a starting pitcher's role and has done a nice job.
01:08And the value that he brings out of the pen like that to be able to throw high
01:13leverage, multi-inning, big innings for us that quite frankly we need coming out of the pen.
