00:00Thomas Aiden Church and Josh Brolin, throughout the film, there were a couple times where I was like, they look
00:06pretty similar.
00:07They got a vibe. They got a vibe going on.
00:08What was the line you were walking there where you were like, did you want the audience to think that?
00:13Or were you trying not to go too far?
00:15Yeah, I never try and mislead the audience intentionally or try and think too much about what they're...
00:22I mean, obviously, you don't want them to get ahead in a way that's a problem.
00:25But I tend to think, I mean, the audience is much smarter than me.
00:30That's step one, is kind of knowing that for myself.
00:33So I never think I'm going to be clever and lead them down the wrong way or try and misdirect
00:37them with anything.
00:39I try and play it relatively straight.
00:42And then when I have friends read it or have friends watch the rough cut of the movie, sometimes they'll
00:46say, oh, this really tipped me off.
00:48And then we'll carve that back a little.
00:50Barring that, though, I feel like you play it as straight as possible with the audience.
