00:00Moving to file item 218, AB 2046.
00:03The clerk will read.
00:04Assembly Bill 2046 by Assemblymember Ransom and others, acting on the vehicles.
00:09Ms. Ransom, you are recognized to open on the matter.
00:11Colleagues, Assembly Bill 2046 expands consumer choice by giving Californians access to cleaner, more affordable fuel options.
00:20Californians consistently pay more at the pump than drivers in other states, and gas prices are once again climbing across
00:27the state,
00:27putting added pressure on working families and commuters.
00:32E85, a blend of ethanol and gasoline, is a low-carbon fuel option that typically costs less per gallon than
00:38regular gasoline.
00:39For commuters and working families, it offers a practical way to save money.
00:43Yet, California remains the only state that prohibits the use of proven U.S. EPA-approved E85 conversion kits,
00:53limiting access to this affordable fuel option.
00:56AB 2046 would allow these approved conversion kits to operate in California,
01:01giving families greater flexibility and more affordable choices at the pump.
01:06At a time when Californians are struggling with affordability, AB 2046 provides real relief for families across our state.
01:13This is a consumer choice bill that has enjoyed bipartisan support and no opposition.
01:19I respectfully ask for your aye vote.
01:25Thank you, Ms. Ransom.
01:26Seeing and hearing no further debate on the matter, the clerk will open the roll.
