08:07and now Trump for a second time and there's no doubt that Trump was the person who had them
08:10um also uh uh what's her face was uh person of the year um crap what I'm the the chick

08:26yeah so make sure you mention her too you know you notice how he went to like all these terrible
08:31people but like he failed to mention one of the most recent people that uh won this I don't I

08:48Taylor Swift so yeah name her too but the most influence over the national conversation this
08:56year in fact seven of the last eight presidential election years the winner has been named person

10:02so thank you that's good to listen to the president a lot tremendous honor I brought some of our
10:08compatriots along with us they're going to do a beautiful job for you for the next four years
10:12and uh it's really been something very special and I have to say uh time magazine getting this
10:19honor for the second time uh I think I like it better this time actually because
10:25but uh we did a good job we had a great first term despite a lot of turmoil uh caused
10:31unnecessarily
10:32and but the media's tamed down a little bit they're liking us much better now I think
10:37if they don't we'll have to just take them on again and we don't want to do that
10:40but I I do want to thank time magazine I've been on the cover many times I don't know who
10:45has the
10:45record but I can only probably talk well about 25 of the covers 25 are great the others I just
10:52sort of
10:52hide but it's been an honor and every time it's an honor I will tell you and thank you very

10:57doing it and uh thank the whole group at time really very professional people thank you very much
11:12and to jeff and all of the people uh from the new york stock exchange he knows how much I
11:17like it
11:18because many years ago I bought a building across the street I wasn't going to buy it then I said

11:23know it's right next to the new york stock exchange I'm going to buy it we've had great success 40

11:28street we've had tremendous success with it but uh you've really had success with the new york stock
11:33exchange it's an incredible group of people and jeff you have done an incredible job you and your group
11:38and what a beautiful speech you made thank you very much that was some introduction of all of us
11:43uh but we've uh we've gone up uh since the election I was just told by Scott everybody said you
11:50have to
11:51pick Scott Scott Bessette he has to be the one chosen for treasury where is Scott let's see he's
11:57around here someplace he's around here uh he told me we picked up three trillion dollars since the
12:04election day and I said well that's good but what about before the election day he said we picked up
12:09some
12:09money there because they thought you were going to win I said I like this guy he's going to be
12:12my
12:12treasury secretary
12:20but it's true it's uh I think we're going to have a tremendous run we have to straighten out some
12:25problems some big problems in the world it's uh when we left we didn't have any of these problems
12:30we didn't have Russia with Ukraine we didn't have Israel October 7th we didn't have the Afghanistan
12:36disaster we didn't have inflation we had no inflation and we had a very strong economy and we're going to
12:42do that again but I think we're going to even up it because now we have experience that we didn't
12:47have now I know everybody you know I when I first came in uh we came down Melania and I
12:52a great first
12:52lady who's very popular by the way she rang in she rang in the bell she rang in the bell
13:01but uh we came down and we're driving down Pennsylvania Avenue and it was so beautiful
13:06I said you know I've never done this before I didn't know anybody I got to the Oval Office and
13:11I'm picking all these big positions and I didn't really know the people in Washington but boy did I
13:15get to learn fast and now we do and we I think we have an incredible staff behind me and
13:20others that
13:21aren't here and we're going to do a fantastic job we're going to absolutely one thousand percent and
13:27you know I have a lot of confidence that he will do a fantastic job but you can see it
13:31already in some
13:32of the picks that he's been making these picks aren't the same types of picks that you know he had
13:38back in 2016 and uh you know I've talked about this before but you know it's easy to criticize Trump
13:45for some of the mistakes that he made in his first term um because obviously hindsight is always
13:5020-20 it's easy it's easier to play Monday morning quarterback than it is to play on Sunday
13:55right so um and I've talked about this previously I put myself in his shoes and I'm like yeah I
14:02mean a
14:03lot of these decisions I would have made the same exact decision so how could I fault him for you
14:09know
14:09uh making some of these mistakes he didn't know anybody I mean like I would have been in the
14:14same position I would have been like uh well yeah sure you're hired you know uh this guy over
14:20here is telling me that you've done x y and z blah blah blah you've talked about you know these
14:24certain things all right sure turns out the guy's a terrible person right hey it happens but now now
14:31he knows who are these snakes and he's going to keep that grass cut low and it's going to be
14:35a
14:35phenomenal four years it's going to be an amazing it's going to be a well like whatever words you can
14:42think of it it's going to be that for the next two years until midterms and if we win midterms
14:48again
14:48which we should we're going to recreate the first two years for the last two years it's going to be
