00:01The women living with secondary breast cancer in Northumberland are being offered new support
00:06through monthly sessions launched by the charity Breast Cancer Now. The group was created after
00:11specialist nurses at Wandsbeck General Hospital identified a lack of dedicated help locally for
00:18patients whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body. Organisers say the meetings will
00:23provide a safe space for women to share experiences, receive guidance and hear from expert speakers.
00:30The free sessions begin in Ashington on the 16th of June and will continue every month.
00:36Breast Cancer Now says peer support can make a significant difference for patients and families.
