00:00Annamalai's big rollback appeal to CBSE. BJP Neta Annamalai asks for the end of the three-language policy for Class
00:109.
00:10Annamalai says, language change has shocked parents. Remember, the CBSE has very recently introduced a three-language policy,
00:19including at least one Indian language that is compulsory for Class 9.
00:24And the CBSE has called this a three-language formula, and this language formula is expected to be implemented from
00:31this academic year.
00:33Annamalai is now saying, wait till 2029. Don't burden the kids. Do not introduce a new language midway.
00:41Annamalai has cited the pressure on students on this issue, that this circular will create an undue pressure on the
00:52students.
00:53Pramod Madhav is joining me live on the story. Pramod, this three-language formula issue has been a bone of
01:00contention politically,
01:01and we've also seen petitions coming to the Supreme Court challenging this policy, saying that this will create too much
01:08pressure on the students.
01:09What more are you picking up from the politics of it all?
01:12Well, Anisha, one thing is very certain. This is about a three-language policy, and in the state of Tamil
01:16Nadu,
01:16it will be definitely not welcome, because Chief Minister Vijay has also made it very clear that in the state
01:20of Tamil Nadu,
01:21it's always going to be two-language policy. But the important aspect here is that now Annamalai is raising certain
01:26concerns
01:26over the circulars that has been published by the Education Ministry and CBSE,
01:30and that is about introduction of the third language and making it compulsory, especially for the ninth-stand students.
01:36However, Annamalai says that there was a circular back in April of 2026, where it said that this particular circular
01:42and its notifications will be implemented from 2029.
01:45But right now, he also says there is another circular that has been released by CBSG,
01:49where it's been saying that from the beginning of 2026 academic year,
01:53it said this policy will be introduced and it will be made mandatory for the students.
01:58And this is where now Annamalai says that for a ninth-standard student to learn third language from the country,
02:04and that too in a short year span, which exerts a lot of pressure,
02:07and he has urged the Inner Education Ministry to roll back this particular circular and circular Anisha.
02:14All right, Pramod. This is something that will continue.
02:18As Pramod just said, that Tamil Nadu politics is opposing,
02:22politicians in Tamil Nadu are seriously opposing this policy and this matter also in the Supreme Court.
02:27So we'll see what happens next in this.
02:29We'll see what happens next in this.
