00:20how are you feeling um bittersweet uh sad to see them go remembering all the good memories that we
00:27enjoyed over the years all the people that have worked there that i knew some of them
00:32we called legends that have passed um but yes it's a bittersweet day

01:02remove it from the skyline which has been so iconic for the last 50 60 years which people
01:08recognize it but they have come from outside the area and we always used to travel through and it
01:14was always something that you recognized yeah something you'd always saw the door power stations
01:18big stacks yep looks like a paddle steamer on the on the lake as you've come past in the night
01:23especially people from out of town as david said we've got so many young people and especially men
01:30boys came down here and they did apprenticeships girls had jobs we didn't have uh anywhere in the
01:36area that uh was able to pay the sort of money that the power station paid and give us a
01:42you know a
01:42stable employment and um look i'm i'm blessed to have worked there i really am my dad worked there
01:50my brother's worked there um and it was really good great our son did his apprenticeship there as
01:55well too so that's it's sort of gone full circle it's a sad day there would there would uh there
02:01wouldn't be too many in our community that haven't uh had something to do with the deal where parents
02:06have worked there or you know children or know someone who works there so if there's anyone living
02:10at it's muscle rookshire council area we're living it you know we're the first with the mines to close
02:15now so we're the first to have to be forced to make decisions on on what we do next so
02:19i think
02:20uh certainly our community is coming to grips with it uh whether the broader communities or not
02:25i don't know but it certainly is uh an indication that that is occurring
