00:02Hey Pep, my name is Nico Lojo. Welcome to my home.
00:13I've always wanted to live in BGC because it makes me feel like I'm at home.
00:18For a lot of my life I grew up in Calgary, Canada, and BGC kind of reminds me of that.
00:24And I really wanted to be in a city where I could just go walking. So I could just go
00:29out and walk and jogging.
00:33If I want to get groceries or anything, I could just walk and drive in traffic.
00:37So that's why I like BGC. And this unit is a great location because it's near High Street.
00:45So it's near a busy walking area. And the area is a good place. So I like that.
00:59I live a busy lifestyle outside. So when I come back, I want a place where I can relax.
01:05And the colors especially are more on lighter colors, which makes me feel a little bit brighter inside.
01:15I didn't have an interior designer, but I got advice from some people now what colors I should make it.
01:22So I wanted to be in black because it's dark colors. So originally I wanted black or dark grey or
01:31dark browns.
01:32Then they said, what if you tried light colors? Just to lighten things up.
01:37Because it helps with mood and relaxing yourself when you come home. So I said, okay, I'll try lighter colors.
01:48And that's why I landed upon a lighter, more of a beige, lighter grey, and then lighter wood colors.
01:55It's two bedrooms and I'm just one person. The one bedroom there is for my parents when they come.
02:03Because they visit them for two months every year. So that room is special.
02:09Because every time they come, they're able to stay with me as opposed to staying in Airbnb or hotel.
02:14So that's why I have two bedrooms instead of one.
02:19I love the balcony. I say I do all of my prep for my movies and characters.
02:29Because I usually pace back and forth on that balcony reciting my lines, internalizing the characters.
02:36So I really love it out there because it's so hot.
02:40And I think just being outside relaxes me also. I'm able to get some fresh air, especially in a busy
02:46city like BGC.
02:48And my other favorite spot would probably be in this corner over here where the DJ setup is.
02:55Because I love music. So I go there when I want stress relief.
03:00I just want to play music, have a little bit of a party by myself or with a few friends.
03:06So I find that place very relaxing. And thirdly, of course, the bed because I can sleep.
03:24Six years ago, I got into pageant hosting.
03:27And it's been a blessing because I've been able to travel all over the Philippines.
03:32All the corners of the Philippines I've been able to see.
03:36So this boat was given to me. He hand-carves items.
03:42So he gave me this boat as a sort of a gift of appreciation for coming to Maspate City.
03:49And I just remembered because at that time it felt like such a nice gesture.
03:55And it's really a beautiful carving for me.
03:59So I've always had it with me and it reminds me of my roots of where I started.
04:03Because I've been here for nine years in the Philippines.
04:08And around year six or seven, or sorry, year two or three, which was six years ago.
04:14That's when things started getting better for me in terms of, I know, getting into showbiz
04:21and getting closer and closer to my dreams.
04:23And this is sort of just, yeah, a reminder of where I started.
04:27Does owning this home reflect what you truly consider the Philippines as a home home?
04:34Definitely makes the Philippines feel more like a home.
04:38Dahil meron ahong condo dito sa BGC.
04:44Doesn't really reflect my experience here in the Philippines.
04:48Because I think BGC is, you know, is more on the higher end of cities.
04:54So, because I can remember the first place I lived in in the Philippines.
04:59Because noong time na yan, nine years ago, wala akong masyadong pera.
05:04So I came here just with like a little bit of money.
05:07And thankful to a, thanks to a friend of mine, designer siya actually.
05:12He's a fashion designer. He let me stay in his place for free.
05:15But it was a five-bedroom place, a very old condo in Makati near Cash and Carey.
05:23And nobody was staying there. Just my caretaker lang.
05:26But it was a very old unit. There was cockroaches everywhere.
05:30There were rats.
05:32And I just remember one night I was laying on the bed.
05:37And I thought I was having a dream.
05:39But I felt this, this thing on my chest.
05:42And there was, parang, there was some claws.
05:45And I remember the claws like digging into my skin.
05:49I thought I was, I was dreaming this day.
05:51But I just went to feel my chest and there was this huge rat na sa chest ko.
05:56And like anybody would panic ako.
06:00I grabbed the rat and tossed it, right?
06:03And I just, I think back to that moment na,
06:08So I was starting from, you know, starting from scratch.
06:11And then working my tail off every day just to want a better life for myself.
06:20And moving to BGC and buying this unit was a big accomplishment for me.
06:29So parang, I consider this my home dahil na,
06:35dahil sa lahat ng hard work ko, I was able to get this unit.
06:38And, but I don't forget those moments na,
06:42with the rat and starting off in those types of living spaces.
06:48Kasi, it's for the, it's the journey for me eh, of how I got here.
06:53That's why parang may symbolic value yung unit na to.
06:57Maraming maraming salamat Pepsters for visiting my home.
