00:00Welcome back. U.S. President Donald Trump has called on several Arab and Muslim leaders
00:05to normalize relations with Israel and join the Abraham Accords. According to Exclusive by Axios,
00:13Trump made the request during a phone call on Saturday while discussing a potential deal to
00:19end the conflict with Iran. The phone call was held with leaders of Saudi Arabia, the UAE,
00:26Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan and Bahrain. U.S. officials said Trump told the group he
00:33expects countries that have not yet normalized ties with Israel to do so once the war ends.
00:39He also said Envoy's Jared Kushner and Steve Bitcoff would follow up on the issue in the coming
00:44weeks. Trump later reiterated the idea in a social media post, even suggesting that Iran could one
00:51day join the Abraham Accords, a move that would require Tehran to recognize Israel. The Abraham
00:58Accords, brokered during Trump's first term in 2020, established formal diplomatic relations
01:03between Israel and several Arab states, including the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco.
