00:12İzlediğiniz için teşekkür ederim.
00:30Oh my god, I'm so stressed out.
00:31Epic disaster.
00:32I'm done with this.
00:35Absolutely not.
00:36They reimagined the old.
00:38Climbing all the way to the top.
00:40And took on the new.
00:41Beast mode.
00:42Now, their lake houses are finally complete.
00:46All right.
00:46Hey, yes.
00:48With only one team to be crowned champions.
00:52Money, money, money.
00:54This is a $100,000 decision to be made.
00:56It all comes down to this.
00:58The winning team is...
01:05The ultimate renovation competition is back.
01:09We built four brand new lake houses from the ground up.
01:13Now, four powerhouse designer contractor duos from across North America
01:18will take on the ultimate renovation competition.
01:21Their mission to turn these blank slates into amazing vacation destinations
01:25in just eight weeks.
01:28The team with the best lake house will be crowned renovation resort champions.
01:33And take home $100,000.
01:37I'm Brian Baumler.
01:39And I'm Scott McGillivray.
01:40Let the lake house battle begin.
01:42This is Renovation Resort.
01:54Having won two monumental areas of a home,
01:58we're feeling really confident walking into the finale.
02:00I don't know what's in store for this final challenge,
02:03but whatever it is, we got to nail it.
02:05I'm very nervous because this is the end.
02:08I am treating this competition
02:10just like I do my opposing counsel in the courtroom.
02:13I am going to crush you.
02:15Well, this is it.
02:17You've made it.
02:19You've made it.
02:22Standing here, surrounded by your peers
02:24and amongst your competition,
02:25you should be incredibly proud of what you've accomplished.
02:29But make no mistake, this journey is not quite over.
02:34There's one last challenge that stands between you
02:37and the title of Renovation Resort Champions.
02:41All season long,
02:43you've been crafting a story through design.
02:45Every wall and every detail
02:47has told us something about who you are.
02:50And now it's time to bring that vision to life
02:53one last time.
02:55For your final challenge,
02:56we want you to create a bold branding moment.
03:00Not a room, not a renovation,
03:03a statement.
03:04A sculptural standout piece
03:06that'll be mounted to the front of your lake house.
03:08Something that will tell every visitor
03:11exactly what kind of experience lies ahead
03:14before they walk in the door.
03:17We've set up temporary workstations by the water
03:20for your final challenge.
03:21And for this task,
03:23you only have six hours.
03:26What?
03:26So work fast, think smart,
03:28and give this everything you've got.
03:30Okay.
03:31When the clock runs out,
03:32Brian and I will not only judge your work
03:36in this final challenge,
03:38but also your property overall.
03:41This really could elevate one team
03:43from contenders to champions.
03:46And in case you need a reminder
03:48of what's at stake,
03:50you may want to look over your shoulders.
03:52What?
04:13There is officially $100,000 on the dock.
04:20We would love to win this.
04:23Whatever I have to do,
04:25I'm here to win the whole challenge.
04:27This is it.
04:29Your final chance to prove yourselves.
04:32This challenge starts now.
04:35Woo!
04:36Go, go, go, go!
04:37Go, go, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry.
04:39That money really got the moment.
04:40Kids sure did.
04:41Okay.
04:42All right.
04:43We got to go big.
04:44I agree,
04:45but we also only have six hours.
04:48What do you want to do?
04:49It's our last challenge.
04:51I know.
04:52This is it, the branding challenge.
04:53You're really honing in on your property now
04:57and making sure that you've got
04:58the best marketing in the business.
05:01You got to sell the guest experience
05:02and you got to sell us
05:03that you've done a great job wrapping this up.
05:05That is going to determine
05:06who wins Renovation Resort
05:08and who takes home $100,000.
05:12We do have to make something
05:13that will be able to withstand the elements.
05:15We already have a logo
05:17that we've been using throughout the house.
05:19We can hang something.
05:20Okay.
05:20I know.
05:21I like that idea.
05:21So I want to make sure
05:23that we lean into that.
05:24At this point,
05:24Scott and Brian will expect it.
05:26I love the idea of a sign.
05:27I love the idea of a feeling
05:28like it's like hanging
05:29from a village inn
05:30or an antique shop.
05:32This home needs a gorgeous sign
05:34that reminds us
05:35of our childhood village.
05:37We have to make a piece of coral
05:38or something.
05:38Of course.
05:39I mean, there's no question
05:41that it's got to be coral.
05:41For our Lake House Branding Challenge,
05:43we want to create
05:44a large piece of coral
05:46that represents the name
05:47and the feeling of Coral Cove.
05:49But it needs to be really deep
05:50so we can create the dimension
05:52off the wall that we need.
05:54So now we just got to figure out
05:55how do you make coral?
05:57How do you make a really large coral?
06:01I'm thinking something
06:02that just is above our bench.
06:03Okay.
06:04A morphed-looking space texture.
06:08I love the idea
06:10of sticking two minimalistic
06:13textured pieces
06:15with little to no wording.
06:16What if we made a nice wood sign
06:18and we could do some sort of engraving?
06:20I think I have the tools here.
06:21Yeah, I like that idea.
06:23So we'll have our logo.
06:24We're going to have the Cedar Shore.
06:26When guests walk into our lake house,
06:28I want them to have just that exhale,
06:32that they're at a place
06:33that is complete peace
06:34where they can create memories
06:36that they're going to talk about
06:38years after that.
06:39We really don't have a lot of time.
06:40It's got to look good,
06:42but we're going to be able
06:43to get it done, too.
06:45We can make a sandbox
06:46to, like, create a flat mold
06:48and pour, like, quick-set concrete in that.
06:51I just don't want it to look flat.
06:54At least one or two pieces of coral
06:56need to really stick around from the wall.
06:58Yeah, be really textural.
07:00Yeah.
07:00So I'm going to construct the coral
07:02on a hope and a prayer.
07:04Quick-set concrete
07:05would be dry in, like, three hours.
07:08Hmm.
07:09Hmm.
07:10So I think we might just take the risk.
07:13You willing?
07:14I'm a lawyer.
07:15I hate risk.
07:17This is ambitious,
07:18but we're going to take the chance
07:20because we need coral
07:21at Coral Cove.
07:27These are going to be perfect.
07:29This texture right here
07:31will look really good
07:32inside the coral.
07:34We all love flowers,
07:36so we can incorporate
07:37some sort of flower through this.
07:39I like birds also.
07:41I feel like that represents our family
07:42with all of our loved ones.
07:44I love that, Melissa.
07:45So we could do some sort of
07:46a bird on there,
07:48maybe, like, sitting on
07:49a piece of driftwood.
07:50I'm thinking clay.
07:52Okay.
07:53Rolling it out
07:55and then creating, like,
07:56bumps and wrinkles in it.
07:58What are your thoughts
07:59on if we add little dots everywhere,
08:01little holes,
08:02and I created a box on the back
08:04with LED lighting,
08:06so you'd see little twinkle lights
08:07everywhere.
08:08I love that light factor.
08:09Do you think this is going to dry
08:10in six hours?
08:11I know.
08:11That's why I need to start now.
08:14I saw a really nice couple pieces
08:16of wood up top.
08:17We should go grab them
08:18before somebody else says.
08:19I want to make sure
08:20we have the best.
08:20This sign is so important to us,
08:23especially if we're finishing with this.
08:24I want to make sure
08:25that it's a piece
08:26that actually represents
08:27the lake house
08:28through and through.
08:29We got this, Marcie.
08:30I think that's gorgeous.
08:31I think so, too.
08:32I'm excited.
08:32Let's take it home.
08:36I want to see
08:37a statement piece,
08:38maybe a sign,
08:39maybe a statue.
08:40A statue of us.
08:42Well, I don't know
08:43who would want to book that place.
08:46Okay.
08:47Slap it up here.
08:48Oh, careful.
08:49So we got this beautiful slab.
08:51Yeah.
08:53It's got a live edge
08:54on it right now.
08:55We don't really have anything
08:56like that in the house, right?
08:57Well, then I got to mill it.
08:58I'm going to cut it down.
09:00Yeah, we'll get rid of this.
09:01I need you to do things
09:03that no one else here can.
09:05I'm up for the challenge.
09:09This branding challenge
09:11is bittersweet.
09:12It's our last challenge.
09:13Look at that.
09:14It's a complete crack
09:16on the center.
09:17I'm scared.
09:18This is all the wood
09:19that's left.
09:20It's like a big crack.
09:22If I cut it,
09:23I feel like it's going to
09:23just, like, split in half.
09:25How are we going to fix this?
09:27You're just going to
09:28flip it and fill it.
09:31No, no, no, no, no.
09:32It's all good.
09:33It's all good.
09:33Clean it up.
09:37I need to roll out
09:39this clay as fast as possible.
09:40This still needs to dry,
09:41and we don't have
09:42a lot of time.
09:44I've learned
09:45not everything will go
09:46as smoothly
09:47as we want it to,
09:48no matter how hard you plan.
09:52The hardest part
09:53about something like this
09:55is knowing when to stop.
09:58Okay, Shallan.
09:59I think while I attach
10:00the bottom of our mold,
10:02I'm going to get some sand.
10:04I have unresolved trauma
10:05from the Crack the Code challenge,
10:07and Liz is making me
10:08go have therapy
10:09with the sand,
10:10and I am now digging
10:11one more time.
10:14I can't believe I'm back here.
10:16I started this competition
10:17digging,
10:18and I'm ending it digging.
10:20This time,
10:20I am digging for the win.
10:22Oh.
10:27Gonna need a lot more of this.
10:29Yeah.
10:30So more digging.
10:36Over the last few months,
10:38not only have the competitors
10:39been on a journey
10:40of self-discovery,
10:41but we've been
10:42on our own journey.
10:43Oh.
10:44Woo.
10:46Something stinks
10:47from this angle.
10:48He's my friend.
10:49Oh, hello, Froggy.
10:51We've built our own
10:52great memories here.
10:52We have built
10:53our own great memories.
10:55Woo-hoo.
10:56Bouncy, bouncy.
10:57Got him.
10:58Get the net.
10:59Woo-hoo-hoo.
11:00This way.
11:01Oh.
11:01It's heavier
11:02when it's full of air.
11:03It's like you, Brian.
11:04Ahoy!
11:05Ha-ha-ha.
11:07What's happening here?
11:09Ha-ha.
11:10Ha-ha-ha-ha.
11:11I feel like finally
11:13we're starting
11:13to make
11:15a great team.
11:16Me and you?
11:17Yeah.
11:18As a team.
11:18I'm getting a little emotional
11:19just here.
11:20There's no losers here.
11:21There are no losers here.
11:24We have a lot of work to do.
11:26Yeah.
11:33Driftwood and then dune.
11:36Liz!
11:39You want to sand?
11:40I got you sand.
11:42Yeah?
11:42Let's see.
11:43Ha-ha.
11:47Girl, this should be enough.
11:50Uh-oh.
11:50Am I spilling you?
11:51You're good.
11:52Okay.
11:52We can actually
11:53create channels
11:54within the sand.
11:56We're going to mix together
11:57quick-set concrete
11:58and pour that in.
12:00Does it look like that?
12:01Ha-ha-ha.
12:13I'm grabbing on now.
12:18The competitors
12:19have been here
12:19almost eight weeks.
12:20This is now
12:21their final opportunity
12:23to tie everything together
12:25in a neat little bow
12:26and take home the title.
12:28This is where
12:29they can really
12:29make it or break it.
12:30The final challenge.
12:32The final.
12:34The two T's.
12:35Hey.
12:36That is a lot of detail.
12:38We're going to have to get
12:39the old artistic
12:40vibes out right now.
12:41Ha-ha.
12:42That's, uh...
12:43Yeah, I know.
12:43We should have chose
12:44an easier logo,
12:45but we've already...
12:46This seems to be our theme.
12:47Let's chew off
12:47a little bit more
12:48than we can handle.
12:49Using the Dremel
12:50to create this.
12:51It's like,
12:52okay, Grandpa's
12:53heading to the garage.
12:54We'll see him
12:54in a couple of months.
12:56And speaking of Grandpa,
12:57I'm actually trying
12:58to channel that
12:59a little bit.
12:59My grandfather
13:01in the last kind of
13:02year of his life
13:02had Parkinson's,
13:03but he actually
13:04started carving in wood
13:06and everything like that.
13:07That's amazing
13:08to incorporate
13:08some family memories
13:09in there like that.
13:10But you've chosen
13:11a difficult design.
13:12It's not gonna be
13:14an easy task at all.
13:16Here's my advice.
13:17With the limited time
13:18you have,
13:18I would tell anyone
13:19that's a distraction
13:21to get away from you.
13:22See you later.
13:23See you later.
13:24Good luck, guys.
13:26Thank you.
13:27Oh, hello.
13:28Hello.
13:29What are we doing?
13:29We're gonna be
13:30router-ing the edge,
13:31so we wanted to make sure...
13:32Rounding it over,
13:32chamfering, or...
13:33Yeah.
13:34We have a stencil.
13:35Oh?
13:35So this is a symbol
13:37that means a lot to us.
13:38I'm trying to guess
13:39what the symbol is.
13:40Okay.
13:40Oh, it's the heart
13:41and a lung
13:42and the spleen.
13:44It's a bird.
13:45A bird on some driftwood
13:47with some flowers.
13:48Seems a little simple.
13:50Where is it gonna be
13:50displayed out front?
13:51We're gonna hang it
13:52off of the post
13:53at the front.
13:53Oh, okay.
13:54We're gonna make
13:55a hanger for it.
13:55Okay.
13:56Yeah.
13:56All right,
13:56well, I'm looking forward to it.
13:57I'll leave you alone now.
13:59Thank you so much.
13:59Thank you.
14:00Thank you.
14:02What kind of gymnastics
14:03are going on over here?
14:04Hey!
14:06Hey!
14:06What are we making?
14:08An intergalactic
14:09sort of icon.
14:10It will emulate
14:11a little bit of the stars.
14:12Almost the moon
14:13plaster aesthetic
14:14that we have going on
14:15in our lake house.
14:16How are we feeling
14:17about this last challenge?
14:18We're putting our all
14:19into this,
14:19but the big win
14:21that we're all competing
14:22for is the last one.
14:23Yes.
14:23That clay is really wet.
14:25We need this to dry
14:26in time.
14:27Right.
14:27It could take up to a day,
14:28but I'm hoping
14:29that it'll be dry
14:30enough to hang.
14:31Is it going to dry
14:31and then when it rains,
14:32it's just going to turn
14:34into like...
14:35Oh, we'll not be doing that.
14:37No?
14:37No chance.
14:38Okay.
14:38Well, this will be,
14:39uh, this will be interesting.
14:41Yeah.
14:41Good luck.
14:42Thank you.
14:42Thanks, Ryan.
14:46Shallan and Liz.
14:47Hello.
14:47Hi.
14:48Okay.
14:49Welcome to Coral Cove.
14:50I see concrete.
14:51This looks like, uh,
14:53coral mold.
14:54Oh!
14:55See?
14:56That's exactly what it is.
14:58So you've just got
14:58the pieces in here,
14:59I see.
15:00We've got some shells.
15:01Yep.
15:01Yeah.
15:01What's the plan
15:02for the final look?
15:04We'll spray paint it white
15:05and then add coral details
15:07and let the shells live
15:08and stand on their own.
15:09Do you think paint
15:10and shells will make
15:11it bright enough?
15:12Hopefully the concrete's
15:13going to pick them all up.
15:14So you're looking
15:14at a really, really wet mix
15:17of cement with no rocks
15:20or anything in it.
15:21This is going to be gooey.
15:24Yeah.
15:24You're just going for it.
15:25Yeah.
15:26It's our only move.
15:27I think we've been going
15:28for it this whole competition.
15:29This is going to be interesting.
15:31Hopefully interesting
15:32in a good way.
15:33We're going to find out.
15:34I don't know
15:35what to expect here.
15:39I think the check-ins
15:40went really well.
15:41I like to see the progress
15:42the teams are making.
15:43Marcy and Melissa,
15:44it seems to be
15:45a very simple,
15:46clean layout.
15:47But I do have concerns there.
15:48It might be too simple.
15:49Tatiana and Thomas
15:50have a really ambitious plan.
15:52They have a tremendous
15:53amount of confidence.
15:55I don't want to see
15:56that bite them.
15:56I see the stress
15:58on Shallan's face.
15:59I just hope
16:00that it's not too dark
16:02when it all comes together.
16:03Taylor and Meridad
16:04could really be something
16:05you walk in
16:05and just wow as you
16:07stood out from the wall,
16:08backlit.
16:09This could be incredible.
16:10I'm really concerned
16:11about execution,
16:12but I love being proven wrong.
16:20Earthquake!
16:22Oh, my man.
16:26I'm nervous
16:27because the sculpture
16:28is not dry.
16:29We don't have a lot of time.
16:30I just want to create
16:31some sort of heat box.
16:34We're really pressed
16:35for time on this one.
16:36If we touch it too soon,
16:38I worry that it's going to crack
16:39and there goes our chances
16:41at winning $100,000.
16:44Well, let me mess around
16:46with the bits
16:46and then you can try
16:48to draw out
16:49and scribe these trees
16:50and they're going
16:51to be a lot of work.
16:52Thomas works with wood
16:53all the time
16:54and he's quite skilled at it.
16:56No room for error.
16:57At all.
16:58You've reminded me
16:59multiple times.
17:00Good.
17:01I want to really
17:02take this task on.
17:03It is so detailed.
17:05If something were to happen,
17:07I don't want to blame
17:08Thomas for it.
17:09I'd rather take the L.
17:11See how it's sloppy there?
17:13Like, can you make it cleaner?
17:14Let me try.
17:15I do have my concerns
17:16of what we're doing
17:17because we don't want
17:18to look sloppy
17:19and I know that
17:20Tatiana in the end,
17:21if it looks a mess,
17:22she's going to be upset.
17:25If you go outside
17:26the line a little bit,
17:28it's going to look
17:29really sloppy.
17:30You have to do
17:31all the letters
17:32and you can't mess up one.
17:34I'm scared that
17:35we're super behind
17:36from the rest of the teams.
17:37I don't know
17:37if I have time
17:38to do that many letters.
17:42This final challenge
17:43will be a major factor.
17:45There's no taking your foot
17:46off of the gas.
17:47They better take it seriously
17:48because the decisions
17:50haven't been made yet.
17:52It's so cold here.
17:53This sculpture
17:53is not drying.
17:55I don't think
17:55we have another choice.
17:57We need to move
17:57this inside somewhere.
17:58You guys want to come home?
17:59Yeah, I don't mind.
18:00You guys want
18:01an extra set of hands?
18:02Please.
18:03I don't know
18:04what's going to happen.
18:05I don't have a plan B.
18:09Don't cry.
18:11Why are you crying?
18:12It's going to be okay.
18:14It's beautiful already
18:15and I don't even know
18:16what it is.
18:17Everyone in this challenge,
18:19we're all going
18:19through the same thing.
18:20We have a shared experience
18:21and we've all had
18:22that moment
18:23where we're about
18:23to break down.
18:24If we can just hold it
18:25tight to the table here.
18:26Yeah, and slide it
18:27like a pizza.
18:28Careful, careful.
18:34Oh, I see it's still wet.
18:36Yeah.
18:38Thank you, everybody.
18:39In a moment
18:40of sheer panic,
18:41to see all the competitors
18:43support us
18:44in the way that they did
18:45makes me so grateful.
18:50Yeah, that's poor.
18:52That looks good.
18:54These work.
18:57We're going to cross
18:58our fingers
18:58and hope it dries in time
19:00because we have six hours
19:01for this challenge
19:02and dry time
19:03is super important.
19:07It looks like
19:08freaking coral, man.
19:09It does.
19:10We don't have
19:10any other options.
19:11This has to work.
19:12Whatever comes out
19:13of that mold
19:14is going up on their wall.
19:18I haven't routered
19:19anything in a long time,
19:20especially freehand.
19:24I'm nervous.
19:28Oh, no.
19:30I made a big mistake
19:31on this sign.
19:33Shoot!
19:34What the heck happened?
19:36I went off the rails.
19:37Oh, no.
19:38Turns out,
19:39I'm not good at routering.
19:41If this is the backside
19:43and it's all painted blue
19:44and then you just do
19:45the straightest line
19:46you can in these parts...
19:48I think I've ruined our sign.
19:50You'll see that.
19:51You won't see that too much.
19:52Yes, you will.
19:53We could cover it
19:54with paint.
19:55Oh, my goodness.
19:59The sand is still
20:01very, very wet.
20:02That's not a good
20:04look for concrete.
20:06Just start pushing it out.
20:07I thought we could
20:08brush it away,
20:09but it is just still
20:10pumps of wetness.
20:12It's time to dig.
20:13We're about to be
20:14archaeologists at this point.
20:18The parts that are thick
20:20weren't.
20:22The parts that weren't
20:23are just rocks.
20:25We can see some of the
20:27skeleton that we created.
20:29The shells are coming off
20:30and we know that the concrete
20:32didn't really dry
20:33and it's not going to have
20:34the shape that we anticipated.
20:38I'm not sure.
20:41I'm trying not to get in my head
20:43that this is the last competition
20:45and what if this whole thing
20:46falls apart.
20:48Shit, heavy.
20:48Oh, no.
20:55Now you're through.
20:57There's a lot of repair to do.
20:59Now it's time for surgery.
21:01Just when you think
21:02that something is falling apart,
21:04it ends up better
21:05than you anticipated.
21:07But we don't have another
21:08three hours for this to dry.
21:15Our sculpture is still wet.
21:18I'm worried that if we try
21:19and hang it,
21:20it's going to break.
21:23Okay, so new plan.
21:26This isn't going to be
21:27dried completely
21:28by the time we need to hang it.
21:30Instead of assembling it
21:31as one large piece
21:32like a moon crater,
21:33I think we should take it
21:34into a different direction
21:35where I go ahead
21:37and I break these
21:38into six different pieces.
21:40Okay.
21:40And then we'll assemble it
21:41in the formation
21:42of almost like a cherry blossom.
21:44I don't know.
21:45If you want to do this,
21:45let's do it.
21:46But we are running out of time.
21:47I am so nervous.
21:50The thing with breaking apart
21:51a sculpture
21:51is there's no going back.
21:53So everything is very permanent.
21:55That puts so much pressure on me
21:57and I don't want
21:58to let my partner down.
21:59I'm not going down
22:00without a fight.
22:02Okay, okay, okay, okay.
22:06Teams, you have one hour left.
22:08Holy cabana.
22:13I've never done anything
22:15like this before.
22:16With $100,000 on the line,
22:18it's a funny time
22:19for me to try this out.
22:20I know I had my doubts
22:21about Tatiana hand engraving
22:24this whole sign
22:24that we were going to
22:25pull it off in time.
22:26Everyone doubted me.
22:29Especially me.
22:30I think it's the best
22:31representation of us.
22:33It's a beautiful piece
22:34that's going to stand
22:35the test of time
22:36just like we will.
22:37Everyone else
22:38is nearing the finish line.
22:40I feel a little behind right now.
22:42You think I should clay it?
22:43I don't...
22:45I would like to.
22:46I honestly don't know
22:47if this thing is going to look good.
22:48Start little,
22:49so if we can't finish it all,
22:51then it looks
22:51like we did it on purpose.
22:54Looking at it from above,
22:55it looks like a blob of stuff.
22:57I can't even tell what it is.
22:58Okay, competitors.
23:01You ready?
23:02Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one.
23:11Dual's down.
23:12Okay.
23:12Congratulations, teams.
23:14That's it.
23:14You've completed your final challenge.
23:17Okay.
23:18Okay.
23:18One, two, three.
23:20That's gorgeous.
23:21So pretty.
23:23Smart.
23:23It's perfect.
23:25It's perfect.
23:29We did that.
23:33Okay, I'm going to plug it in.
23:34You over there?
23:35Oh, my gosh.
23:36It's a little brighter right now.
23:40Oh, my gosh.
23:41It looks so good.
23:43Yeah?
23:44This house is officially done.
23:46The lights look so good.
23:48That was such a good idea.
23:49Stepping back
23:50and taking a look
23:50at what we've accomplished
23:51in such a short amount of time
23:54is just mind-boggling.
23:57I'm not going to lie,
23:57when it was sitting on its back,
23:58I was like,
23:59I don't know.
24:00But it's up.
24:00I'll give it to you.
24:02I absolutely love it.
24:04It feels amazing
24:05to be here in this moment.
24:07I'm proud of Tatiana
24:08and both of us for being here.
24:10That was a lot of engraving.
24:12It looks so good.
24:14Amazing.
24:15The scale worked out perfectly, too.
24:17Mm-hmm.
24:17We did that.
24:18Yeah, we did that.
24:19And it's time to close the chapter.
24:23Wow.
24:27My friendliest neighbor.
24:30This is a very bittersweet moment.
24:32It was eight short weeks ago
24:33that our competitors arrived.
24:35And now this is a resort
24:37that will be booked
24:38and many families
24:39will build great memories
24:41based on what these competitors
24:42have put together.
24:44We are family now.
24:45Yeah!
24:54Well, this is it, Brian.
24:56Let's check out the team's branding.
24:58Moonlight Bay.
25:00Moonlight Bay.
25:02Do you see a moon anywhere, Scott?
25:04That's a moonie.
25:05Oh, my goodness.
25:06That's serious.
25:07Do you see the light through here?
25:08So they've done LED light in behind this.
25:11Okay.
25:11If you arrive in the evening,
25:12it's going to glow a little.
25:13A little sparkle, yeah.
25:14It's fully made out of clay by hand.
25:16This is abstract art,
25:17and it looks like they put some lime wash on it.
25:20To me, it's a little mysterious.
25:22Yeah.
25:22It doesn't look like a moon.
25:24It looks more like a flower
25:26or a sand dollar
25:27or a sea creature.
25:29It reminds me of your face a little.
25:31Messy and abstract,
25:33but something.
25:35But there's something about it
25:35you really, really like.
25:37What?
25:38Huh?
25:39Right?
25:40It generates curiosity.
25:42That's true.
25:43What's the value of that
25:44when you pull in and you're like,
25:46is that a sand dollar
25:47or the moon
25:48or a flower?
25:49I need to know.
25:50I would have liked
25:51to have seen Moonlight Bay
25:52written in text somewhere.
25:54A little literal
25:55doesn't hurt
25:56when you're trying
25:57to brand a vacation home.
25:58The fact that it's an original piece,
26:00they made it themselves,
26:01I give them a tremendous amount
26:02of credit for that.
26:03And much like their design,
26:05it's consistently simple.
26:07I think it's a really cool logo.
26:08Moonlight Bay.
26:09Moonlight Bay.
26:11On to the next.
26:14Oral Cove.
26:15Oh, wow.
26:16Coming at ya.
26:19Look at that.
26:19That's a serious piece of coral.
26:21It sure is.
26:22Oh, my God.
26:23What in the world
26:24is this made of?
26:26It's cement.
26:27It is going to survive
26:28the elements and the weather.
26:30Huh.
26:30It does look like
26:31a piece of coral.
26:32I love the ambition behind it.
26:34It's an independent piece.
26:35It's abstract.
26:36It's unique.
26:37No one else is going
26:38to have something like this.
26:39It says what it is.
26:40Coral Cove.
26:41I think they nailed it
26:42in terms of expressing
26:44the brand.
26:45Mm-hmm.
26:46I don't love
26:47the piece of coral.
26:48I think it's a bit rocky
26:50and a bit brown.
26:51It could have been
26:51a little lighter
26:52and fresher.
26:53It feels like dirty coral.
26:55I did not think
26:56Shallan and Liz
26:57were in a very good place.
26:59Oh.
26:59I thought they were
27:00a little underwater.
27:01I'm impressed
27:02that this
27:03came out of what I saw.
27:05Shallan and Liz
27:06have always gone big
27:07and I think
27:08this is consistent
27:09with everything
27:09we've seen from them
27:10so I don't think
27:11anyone's going
27:12to be thrown off
27:13from seeing this
27:15and then walking
27:15through their door.
27:16Let's swim over
27:17to the next lake house.
27:18Let's see what
27:19the neighbours are up to.
27:24Driftwood Dunes.
27:27No vacancy.
27:27I was hoping
27:28we could check in
27:29and have a nice weekend.
27:30Oh, I was hoping
27:32on the back
27:32it was going to say vacancy.
27:34Well, I think
27:35they're hoping
27:36it's never going
27:36to say vacancy.
27:37When you head up north,
27:39you know when you
27:39start to see
27:40all the lake houses,
27:42all the signs
27:42are hanging at the road.
27:44This is, I think,
27:46right in line
27:47with expectations
27:49of what you would
27:50find in a lake house.
27:51I think this gives you
27:52a great sense
27:53of the feeling
27:54that you're going
27:55to have when you
27:56walk inside.
27:56It's warm,
27:57it's light,
27:58it's airy.
27:58It's got a traditional
28:00familiarity to it.
28:01But I'm looking
28:02at this from
28:02a longevity standpoint.
28:03The signs we've seen
28:04so far are going
28:05to hold up to the weather.
28:06They're going to look
28:06exactly the same
28:07a year from now.
28:08This plywood
28:09after one winter season
28:11is going to be
28:13cracked open.
28:14It's going to start
28:15falling apart.
28:16The overlays here
28:18and the letters,
28:19I mean,
28:19it's going to require
28:20a bit of maintenance.
28:21Maybe put it up
28:21higher above the door
28:22in that area.
28:23It would have been
28:24protected more.
28:25For the time
28:26that they had,
28:26I think they did
28:27a great job.
28:28And bonus points
28:29for being double-sided
28:30for sure.
28:31Okay.
28:31All right.
28:32Let's check next door.
28:34Cedar Shore.
28:34Cedar Shore.
28:35Oh, look at that.
28:37Whoa.
28:38That's a good-looking sign.
28:40The detail.
28:42I'm shocked
28:42that they had the time
28:43and that it came out
28:44that well.
28:45I love that it's
28:46got established 2026.
28:48It's a time stamp,
28:49so over the years
28:50when people come,
28:51you always just remember
28:52that history
28:53that comes with it.
28:54The only thing
28:54I did notice
28:55from a distance
28:56walking up
28:58is it took a minute
28:59to actually see
29:01the Cedar Shore.
29:02Yeah, it's not
29:02easy to read.
29:04It's visible,
29:05but it's not popping.
29:06Like, if you're coming
29:07from far,
29:08you're going to be like,
29:08what does that say?
29:09They maybe could have
29:12taken the color
29:13out of the center
29:14of these
29:14to make it pop
29:15a little more.
29:16I think in terms
29:16of guest experience,
29:17though,
29:18this fits in
29:18with everything else
29:19they've been doing,
29:20so it's really
29:21the cherry on top.
29:23Four unique lake
29:24houses four different signs.
29:26It's the battle
29:27of the brands.
29:27It is,
29:28and we have a lot
29:29of decisions to make.
29:30Let's do it.
29:35Can we go see them?
29:36I'm so excited
29:37to see the other
29:38lake houses.
29:39We've been hearing
29:39very detailed feedback
29:41from the judges,
29:41and you start to create
29:42this vision in your mind,
29:44and I'm just looking forward
29:45to actually seeing it
29:46for ourselves.
29:48Well, as the teams
29:49tour each other's
29:50lake houses,
29:51we've had a tough
29:52decision to make.
29:53Four very different
29:55designs.
29:56Four very different teams.
29:57Some incredible execution
29:59and quality of work.
30:00and we need to find out
30:01who's taking home
30:02100,000 bucks.
30:03So let's figure it out.
30:05Tatiana and Thomas
30:06started really strong.
30:07They wanted it
30:08out of the gate.
30:09The Crack the Code Challenge.
30:10Oh, we did it!
30:11First place!
30:12Land and Lake Challenge.
30:14Oh my gosh, you guys.
30:15Okay.
30:15Wow.
30:17So pretty!
30:19Tatiana has been
30:20from day one
30:22the guest experience expert.
30:24This island is
30:25massive.
30:27Beautiful.
30:28Wow.
30:28It's the same logo
30:30from outside.
30:31Stop it, Tatiana.
30:34And Thomas
30:35has consistently displayed.
30:36He's got the best
30:37carpentry skills.
30:38The trusses.
30:39That's amazing.
30:40Just because you've got
30:41great carpentry skills
30:42and you understand
30:43the guest experience
30:43doesn't mean you
30:45always have the best result
30:47because they struggled
30:48to get some wins.
30:49These are infamous cowbells.
30:51with the cowbell wall.
30:52That was a miss.
30:54I like them.
30:56They are very hands-on.
30:58They want to do
30:58everything custom themselves.
31:00I love that about them.
31:01No matter which room
31:02you walk into,
31:04the quality of their work
31:05is top notch.
31:07Wow.
31:08Did they have the same
31:08budget we did?
31:09Listen.
31:10I think they've consistently
31:11been at the top of the pack.
31:12I see why they won
31:14the living room.
31:15Well, they shared the win.
31:17They've got a lot of skills.
31:19They brought a lot
31:19to the table.
31:20But is that enough
31:22to win the entire thing?
31:24How about Marcy and Melissa?
31:26From the moment you arrive
31:27at their lake house,
31:29you feel comfortable.
31:30Mm-hmm.
31:30It's cozy.
31:33I'm sweet.
31:35This is the definition
31:36of, like, comfort.
31:38This is incredible.
31:39Oh, look at this.
31:40They started really strong.
31:42They won the primary bedroom.
31:45It makes you exhale instantly.
31:49Wow, looks really nice.
31:50Oh, my goodness.
31:51And they nailed it.
31:52Yeah.
31:53This is so classy.
31:54And here's where they shine.
31:56You throw them anything,
31:59and they execute with excellence.
32:01Yeah.
32:01The design detour
32:02has been their strength.
32:03Look at the bows, you guys.
32:05A little detour.
32:06That's so sweet.
32:07That was the design detour, right?
32:09Yes.
32:09The only thing I'd say
32:10on the guest bedrooms,
32:11we didn't see a lot
32:12of custom work done in there.
32:13I love this.
32:14Oh, yeah.
32:15The curtains on the back wall.
32:16I do want to know
32:17what's behind it.
32:18They had a very clear vision
32:19from day one.
32:20If I had to describe the design
32:22in two words,
32:22it would be soft and subtle.
32:24That's three words.
32:26Soft, subtle.
32:27That's better.
32:28It feels really big in here.
32:29I love the color of the cabinets.
32:31Their banquette wall,
32:32It was a risk,
32:33but it paid off.
32:34I was not expecting
32:36that kitchen layout.
32:37I cannot believe
32:38that they came up with this.
32:40I can't believe
32:41this is the same place.
32:42It's so great.
32:44Marcy is a very strong designer.
32:47Mm-hmm.
32:47She is brilliant.
32:49Yeah.
32:49There is so much storage in here.
32:52Yeah.
32:52And they started taking notes
32:54on guest experience
32:56and showing us
32:57that they're aware
32:58of the guest experience.
32:59The basket wall, guys.
33:01I love it.
33:03Melissa is the one
33:04whose skills, I think,
33:05have evolved.
33:06Yeah.
33:06You know, I think we saw
33:07a couple hiccups
33:09with wallpaper
33:10and edges at the beginning.
33:12She started cleaning those up
33:14as she went along,
33:15and then she got even better
33:17for the bench
33:18in the front entry,
33:19and she absolutely
33:20knocked it out of the park
33:21with the fireplace.
33:23She custom-made all of this, right?
33:25Yeah.
33:25Wow, good job.
33:27Shalon and Liz.
33:29Right out of the gate
33:30with the primary bedroom,
33:31I felt like the actual bedroom itself
33:33didn't hit the mark,
33:35but the bathroom,
33:36that was the first sneak peek
33:39at what they were capable of.
33:40This is so cute.
33:42Oh, I like the tile.
33:43Shalon, she's got incredible vision.
33:45She definitely flexed the color
33:47and the Bahamian vibe.
33:49I think there's some areas
33:50of going a little too far.
33:52Their kitchen.
33:54Whoa!
33:54It's so pretty!
33:55Oh, I love this color.
33:56Oh, my goodness.
33:57Oh, my God.
33:58Wow.
33:59There were some quality issues,
34:00but, boy,
34:01is it interesting and energetic.
34:03The hints of bamboo,
34:04Yeah.
34:05I think were a nice touch,
34:06but then it was like,
34:07oh, that's more than a hint.
34:08We've gone a little too far.
34:09The coconut wall!
34:11Like, how good do you have to be
34:13to go this bold
34:14and have it work?
34:15And you talk about a theme
34:16can be going too far.
34:18That front entry,
34:19that is where the theme
34:21going far was just right.
34:24That's the best front entry
34:25we've ever seen.
34:26Wow.
34:26This is next level.
34:29This is so cool.
34:31I want to get wild in here,
34:32you guys.
34:33Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
34:34My kids would love it in here.
34:35Seriously.
34:36Yeah, love it.
34:37Then they won
34:38the guest bedroom challenge.
34:40Back to back.
34:41Back to back.
34:42And this was where
34:43they went from underdog
34:44to the ones to watch out for.
34:47Yeah.
34:47Liz really finding different ways
34:49to express her talent,
34:51whether it's through the LED signs
34:53or the incredible mural work she did.
34:56Liz is incredibly talented,
34:58and I think she showed us that.
34:59Everyone's faces are so different,
35:00but it just suits every house so well.
35:03It's that whole Junkin' Oo vibe.
35:05It's fun, it's color,
35:07it's music, it's loud.
35:09You know, it invites people in.
35:10You know that's where
35:11the party's going to happen.
35:12But is their design too niche?
35:15The Flamengo theme
35:16is living large in here.
35:18They went for it,
35:19and going for it
35:20in the short-term vacation space
35:22is always a win.
35:25Taylor and Meridad.
35:26Let's just say that Meridad
35:28started this competition
35:29going in circles.
35:30Turn it around!
35:32Whoa, what?
35:33We did.
35:35Oh my goodness.
35:38Their primary bedroom and bathroom
35:40was impressive.
35:42A lot of custom pieces,
35:43there's a lot of Taylor's heritage
35:44going into this.
35:45But she didn't have the confidence
35:48to really lean into it
35:50until we got to the kitchen.
35:52Right.
35:52This is so cool.
35:54This feels huge in here.
35:56Look at this.
35:56This was the first time
35:58we really saw them step it up,
36:00and it blew our socks off.
36:02Look at this curved counter.
36:05They feel so tranquil.
36:07Yeah.
36:08It does.
36:09It's very calm.
36:11It's very simple and serene,
36:14but beautiful at the same time.
36:15Taylor's design is simplicity.
36:17The view.
36:19That's a $100,000 view right there.
36:21They want all the main spaces.
36:23Kitchen, living room,
36:25dining area, deck.
36:27Like, the whole heart of the home,
36:28they took it.
36:29That's a power move.
36:30Everything just came together
36:32at the end
36:32for them to finish super strong.
36:35Some good competition.
36:37The magic about this competition
36:39is that it's not how you start,
36:42it's how you finish.
36:43Yeah.
36:43And we are judging
36:45the entirety of these lake houses now.
36:48Mm-hmm.
36:48And not only do you have to add up the wins,
36:50you've got to add up the close to wins as well.
36:53Yeah.
36:53Okay.
36:54Well, this is it.
36:56This is a $100,000 decision to be made.
36:59Are we ready to make it?
37:02We're going to have to.
37:10This is the most nervous
37:12I have ever been.
37:15My heart is pounding out of my chest.
37:17There's really no tomorrow
37:19to redeem yourself.
37:21It's the end.
37:22The finality of it
37:23is really sinking in.
37:25A little nervous,
37:26a little anxious,
37:27but win or lose,
37:29I'm proud of us.
37:30I have nerves.
37:32I have butterflies.
37:33This is a huge moment
37:36and we're about to see
37:37who's going to win
37:38this whole competition.
37:40Congratulations.
37:41Over the past eight weeks,
37:44you have transformed
37:45these lake houses.
37:47And now,
37:48with this final challenge,
37:50you've created a branding icon
37:52so every guest knows
37:53exactly what to expect
37:55the moment they arrive
37:56at your vacation rental.
37:58Everyone did a great job,
37:59but one team did make it crystal clear
38:02that they knew exactly
38:04how to bring their lake house
38:07and their identity to life.
38:09And the winners
38:10of the branding challenge are
38:14Tatiana and Thomas.
38:19We thought you did
38:21a really great job.
38:22Thank you.
38:23And now for the toughest decision
38:25we've had to make
38:27all season.
38:29You all started
38:30with the same blank drywalled shells,
38:33the same $150,000
38:35renovation and design budgets
38:37and the same ticking clock.
38:39Now it comes down
38:40to the main event.
38:42Oh my gosh.
38:43Jalon and Liz,
38:43the moment you stepped foot
38:46on Renovation Resort,
38:48I knew there was going to be
38:50a new energy here.
38:53You brought the bright colors
38:55to Coral Cove
38:57and took home
38:58back-to-back wins.
38:59When the pressure is on,
39:01you deliver.
39:02You two went out on a limb.
39:05Jalon,
39:06I hate to say this,
39:08but you may need to hang up
39:10your lawyer hat
39:10because you've proven yourself
39:12to be a fierce designer.
39:14Thank you.
39:15What you have been able
39:16to accomplish here
39:17absolutely blew my mind.
39:20And I don't think
39:20you could have picked
39:21a better partner
39:22who put it all out there.
39:24Liz,
39:25your passion for art
39:26and creating beautiful things
39:28has shone brightly
39:30since day one.
39:31You're as genuine
39:32as they come
39:32and it shows in everything
39:34you do.
39:34Thank you.
39:35It's incredible
39:36to see what's possible
39:38when you get
39:39the perfect ingredients.
39:43Well, hi, mama.
39:46Taylor and Mirdad,
39:48your West Coast minimalist vibes

39:55two massive wins,
39:57the kitchen
39:57and the living room.

40:08I wouldn't remember
40:08for the rest of my life.
40:10Taylor,
40:10you really made yourself
40:12vulnerable here.
40:13You showed us something new.
40:14Mirdad,
40:15you rolled up your sleeves
40:16and you proved
40:17that you've got the grit
40:19to do the work
40:19and manage the work.
40:21So, super impressive.
40:22Thank you so much.

40:34and the future guests
40:35are going to love it.
40:36We got to see
40:37the highlights

41:06over the moon
41:06when they see
41:07what we created together.
41:08Tatiana and Thomas,
41:10you came in hot.
41:11You were the first
41:12to gain access
41:12to your lake house
41:13and you took home
41:15the win
41:15for Team Land.
41:18Week after week,

41:22your attention
41:23to the guest experience
41:24has been unmatched.
41:25I think I even learned
41:26a thing or two
41:27from you.
41:28Thank you.
41:28I never thought
41:29something like this
41:30would be possible for us
41:31and to be standing
41:32here today,
41:33I just feel
41:34extremely humbled
41:36and grateful
41:37to be here.
41:38Thomas,
41:38you are a skilled carpenter.
41:41You brought heart
41:42and hard work
41:43to this competition.
41:44It was very hard
41:45to ever pick out problems
41:47with the quality
41:47of the work
41:48that you were doing.
41:49And thank you
41:49for showing us
41:50what kind of tricks
41:51you have up your sleeve.
41:52Thank you.
41:53This has been
41:53an amazing experience.
41:54It has been
41:55an incredible ride.
41:56We've had a lot of fun,
41:57but the time must come

42:17If we won
42:18this competition,
42:20I think it would prove
42:21that anything's possible.
42:23This is the toughest
42:24competition
42:25that we've had.
42:26I feel like we put
42:27our best foot forward,
42:28like not just any foot,
42:30like a stomp.
42:31Yeah.
42:31This is the most
42:32incredible piece
42:33of property
42:34that anyone
42:35has ever worked on.
