00:00The ultimate goal is that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon.
00:03Iran can never possess a nuclear weapon.
00:05The president has been clear about that.
00:06They will never possess a nuclear weapon,
00:08certainly not as long as Donald Trump is president of the United States.
00:12Related to that is this issue of the straits.
00:15This is an international waterway.
00:17They don't own it.
00:19It's an international waterway.
00:21And what they are doing now is basically they are threatening
00:24to destroy commercial vessels using an international waterway.
00:28That is illegal under any concept of international law that governs us.
00:32So we've made some progress over the last 48 hours
00:35working with our partners in the Gulf region
00:37on an outline that could ultimately, if it succeeds,
00:41leave us not just with the completely open straits,
00:44and I mean open straits without tolls,
00:46and with addressing some of the key things that underpin
00:53what has been Iran's nuclear weapons ambitions in the past.
00:57So we think we've made some progress on the outline of something
01:00that, if it works, could give us that outcome.
01:04I don't think anyone's been tougher on the Iranian nuclear ambition
01:07than President Trump.
01:08Understand, okay?
01:09Again, I don't know what some of these individual comments have been
01:12from different sectors of our politics in the United States,
01:15but I will say this.
01:16There is no one who has been stronger on this issue than President Trump.
01:20Multiple political leaders, multiple presidents of the United States
01:24have all said the same thing.
01:25Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.
01:26The only one who's tried to do anything
01:28and has actually done anything about it in a real way
01:30has been President Trump.
