00:00Darwin's Paradox is a charming and good-natured adventure that struggles to stand out in the
00:05puzzle platformer genre. The 2.5D puzzle platformer oozes the charm of a child-friendly animated
00:11movie, with Darwin being wonderfully expressive, especially when his eyes bulge in surprise,
00:17and so much emotion comes through even without dialogue. No puzzle or jumping sequence is
00:22particularly challenging, there's just a lot of moving left to right, or sometimes right to left,
00:27while nudging boxes or barrels around without having to think too hard about it. The sticky
00:32jump death gauntlets are fun, the art style is adorable, and you get to play as an octopus.
00:37But there aren't a lot of new ideas here, there's a dire mech section towards the end,
00:42and the stealth is very basic. There's a lot to like about Darwin's Paradox,
00:47and it's certainly charming enough where I wish I liked it more. There's a great sense of humour
00:52running throughout, but Darwin's Paradox struggles to bring much new to the puzzle platformer space.
00:58It's a fun little adventure for a few hours, but these suckers don't have a grip on me,
01:02and I doubt I'll remember it for long.
