01:18Welcome, everyone, to this very special edition of WWF Superstars. I'm Vince McMahon, along with Jerry the King Lawler. We
01:25are excited. Yes, we are ready for WrestleMania weekend.
01:29As we speak, the WrestleMania Fan Festival is going on right up the street at the Hartford Civic Center, a
01:35little bit north of our studios.
01:36But, ladies and gentlemen, it all leads to this Sunday night, the pay-per-view extravaganza, the likes of which
01:43you have never seen before.
01:46WrestleMania. You yourself have to be pumped.
01:49Of course. I'm excited. But what I want to know is this. Who does LT think he is? I mean,
01:53he says it's not going to be a wrestling match, it's going to be a brawl.
01:56When does he make the rules, huh? Tell me that.
01:58He's not trying to make the rules. He's just trying to describe what type of a match we're going to
02:02say.
02:02Have you heard of the golden rule? The golden rule is this. He who has the gold makes the rules.
02:07And he who has the gold is Ted DiBiase, the million-dollar man, LT. And he's going to have his
02:12entire corporation at ringside.
02:14And you better hope for your sake and the sake of that entire all-pro team of yours that it
02:19doesn't turn into a brawl.
02:20Because if it does, your entire football careers are over. Do you understand that?
02:25Anything can happen in a world-busting federation. That much is for certain, especially in this LT Bam Bam matchup.
02:31With that in mind, let's take you now to learn a little bit more about the situation. Let's take you
02:35to Todd.
02:36Let's take you back and show you how it all unfolded. At the WWF Royal Rumble this past January, Bam
02:43Bam Bigelow was leaving the ring following an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Bob Holly and the 1-2
02:49-3 Kid in a tag team championship match.
02:51The fans were pointing at Bam Bam, taunting him. In attendance at ringside as a guest of WWF champion Diesel
02:59was none other than Lawrence Taylor.
03:01Bigelow then confronted LT, feeling he was taking part in the taunting. Bam Bam claims LT was intentionally trying to
03:09embarrass him.
03:10And when Lawrence Taylor extended his hand in a gesture of sportsmanship, Bigelow responded with the now infamous show.
03:25That incident shocked and embarrassed the World Wrestling Federation. Immediate action was taken. Bam Bam was suspended for 30 days
03:33and requested to publicly apologize to LT the following night on Monday Night Raw.
03:39Ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately unable to, uh, can you hear us now?
03:43But due to technical difficulties, the apology never happened.
03:47The following Monday night, another chance for Bam Bam to apologize.
03:52But instead, he had a change of heart.
03:54And then, you listen to me and you listen good.
03:57And you LT, if you're out there, I want you to open up your ears too.
04:01Because I got something to say to you.
04:03Now, you want to put dignity and pride on the line?
04:06Well, I'm willing to put mine on. Why don't you put yours on?
04:09No pants. No helmets. No teammates, Lawrence Taylor. Just me and you. Man on man. That's my apology.
04:18You're challenging Lawrence Taylor.
04:19I'm challenging Lawrence Taylor anytime, anyplace.
04:23For over two weeks, LT and his camp were silent.
04:26But the following Monday night, we heard LT's manager, Bobby Cupo.
04:30Furthermore, as it relates to Mr. Bigelow's challenge to Lawrence Taylor, while Lawrence has a great respect for the physical
04:37skills it takes to be a World Wrestling Federation superstar, he has no inclination to be one himself.
04:44However, if Bam Bam Bigelow continues to denigrate the good name of Lawrence Taylor by these insidious challenges, he will
04:52have no alternative but to seek legal remedy. Thank you.
04:54But Bigelow persisted in taunting the NFL legend. That weekend on WWF Superstars, Bam Bam got personal.
05:02All I hear is Bobby Cupo this. Lawrence Taylor's talking to Bobby Cupo. Lawrence Taylor's talking to his lawyers.
05:10Can't he talk to me? Come on. What a joke. Come on. I'm a man. Nobody's talking for me. I
05:16talk for myself.
05:17Why don't you, Lawrence Taylor, why don't you get up in front of the TV and say Bam Bam Bigelow,
05:22I accept your challenge. Bam Bam Bigelow, I will wrestle you.
05:26Lawrence Taylor, you ain't got no backbone to stand on. You're not even a man. You are a wimp.
05:32You won't get in the ring with Bam Bam Bigelow. You won't put everything aside.
05:37Prove yourself as an individual, one-on-one, lose the pads, lose the helmets, step in the ring, and welcome
05:43to the valley of the real giant.
05:48Then came the threats of legal action.
05:50Therefore, I'm advising my client, Lawrence Taylor, to seek legal remedy against Mr. Bigelow, as well as the World Wrestling
05:58Federation.
05:58I am demanding a cease and desist of these activities from both parties, Mr. Bigelow and the World Wrestling Federation.
06:07Thank you.
06:08At that point, Bam Bam's 30-day suspension had come to an end.
06:11The following Monday night, after his match on Raw, Bam Bam did it again.
06:17I hope you're out there, and I hope you're listening.
06:21You've been hiding behind your manager.
06:24You've been hiding behind your lawyer.
06:28Yeah, you're a wimp.
06:30And I'll take you on any time, any place.
06:35If that weren't enough, now the million-dollar man Ted DiBiase got into the act.
06:40I can't believe that for a man who's supposed to be one of the greatest football players in the history
06:46of the National Football League,
06:47supposed to be a true role model for all these kids today, I can't believe that you're hiding behind your
06:54attorneys.
06:55Yeah, go ahead, get out of here, monsoon.
06:56You don't want to hear the truth.
06:58The bottom line is, Lawrence Taylor, if you're scared, just say you're scared.
07:02And the truth is, Stan Lane, that's exactly what he is.
07:05He's scared.
07:06He's nothing but a great big chicken.
07:10After over a month of constant harassment and taunts and challenges and attacks on his character at the hands of
07:16Bam Bam Bigelow and Ted DiBiase,
07:18LT had enough.
07:19And on Monday Night Raw, we heard from the legend himself.
07:24I thought about going after Bam Bam, but that's not my nature.
07:29I'm not here to fight.
07:30That's childish.
07:31I think what he did was childish, and I let him go, and we'll sell it other ways.
07:37And at the Harley Davidson Cafe, I'm gonna be there, and the question is, Lawrence Taylor, are you gonna show
07:44up?
07:44Are you gonna be there?
07:45Are you gonna tell the world what we want to hear or what I want to hear?

08:09The electricity was unbelievable.
08:11I was there at the Harley Davidson Cafe in New York City.
08:15Media representing the entire world was in attendance, all wanting to hear from Lawrence Taylor.
08:20It was pins and needles time when the announcement came that Lawrence Taylor would indeed accept
08:26the challenge of the Beast from the East Bam Bam Bigelow.
08:29From there, it was vintage LT.
08:36LT has put together an all-pro team of his own.

10:25but everyone knows the devastating effect
10:27of the cross-faced chicken wing.
10:29The hitman Bret Hart knows about it.

11:48Backlund was finally granted a title shot at the Survivor Series
11:52with one very symbolic stipulation.
11:54The loser would submit by having his corner throw in the towel.
11:59The British Bulldog was in Brett's corner,
12:01and the hitman's estranged brother, Owen,
12:03was in Mr. Backlund's corner.
12:05That's when one of the most despicable displays
12:07in WWF history occurred.
12:10Owen Hart, after diverting Brett's attention,
12:12caused the hitman to get caught in the chicken wing.
12:15However, Brett Hart would not submit,
12:17even after nine minutes in that chicken wing.
12:20However, Owen convinced his parents
12:23that it would be in Brett's best interest
12:25if they were to throw in the towel.
12:27Helen Hart, fearing for her son's safety,
12:29did indeed throw in the towel,
12:31and with that, the WWF title.
12:34After such a long and strange journey,
12:36Backlund was the champion once again,
12:38but not for long.
12:40The hitman was injured and not able to fulfill
12:43the contractual obligations for a rematch.
12:46Diesel, Big Daddy Cool,
12:47was named the number one contender
12:49and took Brett's place that weekend
12:51at Madison Square Garden,
12:52where history was made.

22:16Let's take you now to Todd Pettengill to shed a little bit more light, if you would, on the Double
22:20J Razor matchup.

22:22Ever since the day Double J Jeff Jarrett entered the World Wrestling Federation, he made it clear what his agenda
22:28was.
22:29I'm going to use the WWF.
22:31And when I finish using the WWF, they're going to rename the WWF.
22:36That's right.
22:37They're going to rename it the Double J-F.
22:40And you're going to know exactly why Double J is the greatest wrestler of all time.
22:45That's where Razor Ramon comes in.
22:47The bad guy.
22:49The man oozing machismo.
22:51The man with the Intercontinental title.
22:54At the WWF Royal Rumble, Razor granted Double J a shot at the title.
22:59For Double J, this was like playing the big room at Caesars, performing at the Grand Ole Opry.
23:04He had finally made the big time, and he wasn't taking any chances.
23:09With Razor Ramon down outside the ring, the roadie went into action,
23:13clipping the bad guy, injuring his leg, and causing a count-out.
23:17The match was over.
23:18However, since the title cannot change hands on a count-out, Razor was still the champion.
23:23But Double J took advantage of Razor's machismo.
23:27I came here to take the Intercontinental title from around your waist, Razor Ramon.
23:33From there, Razor Ramon made a courageous and remarkable comeback.
23:37Razor regained control of the match, and was about to put Double J away with the Razor's edge.
23:44Here's player!
23:46Oh, wait a minute.
23:48This leg went out again! This leg's out again!
23:51The same knee that the roadie injured earlier in the match cost Razor the Intercontinental title.
23:56Double J became the new Intercontinental Champion, and the gloating started there.
24:02I strutted in style, flashing lights and all, as the new Intercontinental Champion, baby!
24:11Oh, and Razor Ramon, you want another challenge? Come on, baby!
24:16You want a rematch? Come on!
24:18Because you're the challenger, and I'm the champion!
24:21It truly was a great night! Ha ha!
24:24But since the Royal Rumble, Razor Ramon has been badder than ever.
24:29And this time, Razor isn't taking any chances.
24:32To counter the roadie in the corner of Double J, Razor Ramon will have the 1-2-3 kid in
24:38his corner.
24:39But last Sunday, on the Sunday Night Slam, Razor almost lost his chance at regaining the title.
24:45The title was about to slip into the hands of Bob Backlund and his cross-faced chicken wing.

28:08The ultimate example of that was at the WWF Survivor Series last November.
28:13Diesel and Shawn were teammates.
28:14But it was Diesel who clearly carried the team.
28:17When victory was all but certain, Shawn Michaels wanted Diesel to tag him in so he could hog all

29:19Shawn was seething with jealousy over the fact that Diesel had stolen his spotlight.
29:23So, at the WWF Royal Rumble, Shawn tried to sabotage Diesel's title defense against Bret Hart.
29:30The match was stopped, and Diesel retained the title despite the efforts of Shawn Michaels
29:34and others.
29:36In the Royal Rumble match itself, however, the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels was the center
29:41of attention.
29:43Shawn drew number one, and if he was going to win the Rumble, like he guaranteed, he would
29:48have to make WWF history by being the first and only superstar to win from the number one slot.
29:55Not only did he outlast 29 other superstars, but the way he did it will be talked about for years.

30:04For the Heartbreak Kid, an automatic title shot at WrestleMania 11.
30:08And the pleasure of being escorted to ringside by the beautiful Pamela Anderson.

37:00At the 1995 Royal Rumble, Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Corporation planned a hostile acquisition.
37:07The Undertaker had just defeated the corporate shyster, I mean accountant, IRS, when he was caught off guard by King
37:14Kong Bundy.
37:15While Bundy attacked The Undertaker, IRS repossessed the urn from Paul Bearer.
37:20Bundy continued to squash the man from the dark side as the corporation took control of the urn.
37:27When we next saw The Undertaker in a match against Henry Godwin, it was clear he was lacking some of
37:32his recuperative powers.
37:34As a matter of fact, he had trouble getting Henry into the tombstone.
37:37But was that a result of the beating he took at the hands of King Kong Bundy?
37:41Or because the urn was no longer in the possession of Paul Bearer?
37:45To this point, it appears as if DiBiase hasn't figured out how to harness the power of the urn.
37:51Whether its powers are supernatural or psychological, Paul Bearer and The Undertaker want it back.
37:58If King Kong Bundy interferes in this match, Reggie White will be there to do whatever he needs to do
38:06to make sure that Lawrence Taylor wins.
38:09And if King Kong Bundy interferes, his size won't make any difference at all.
38:14Because I'm going to do whatever I need to do to take care of my partner.
