00:00And a group of bipartisan senators in the U.S. has introduced a resolution reaffirming support for Taiwan.
00:06The resolution was proposed by Senators Jean Shaheen and Tom Tillis, who joined a U.S. delegation to Taiwan earlier
00:13this year.
00:14It reaffirmed support for Taipei under the U.S.'s Taiwan Relations Act, the law governing interactions between Washington and Taipei.
00:22The resolution includes a section reiterating that the U.S. did not agree to consultation with China on American arms
00:29sales to Taiwan.
00:30This comes after a 14 billion U.S. arms sale to Taiwan was paused following Trump's meeting with Chinese President
00:39Xi Jinping in Beijing.
