00:00:00THE END
00:00:15Forget it, son.
00:00:20So?
00:00:21So?
00:00:22Chocs away.
00:00:22Chocs...
00:00:24Good luck.
00:00:24Telly-ho!
00:00:31I'd been in the wilderness for a few years,
00:00:34and I just thought,
00:00:35I want to be even more truthful to myself.
00:00:40We were all saying the same thing.
00:00:43Let's do pop, like mega-pop.
00:00:46I'm spinning around
00:00:48Move out of my way
00:00:50I know you're feeling me
00:00:52Cause you like it like this
00:00:54I'm breaking it down
00:00:56The irony is...
00:00:58I know you're feeling me
00:01:00Kylie does mean boomerang
00:01:03I do my best to come back
00:01:08I've done some pretty...
00:01:10Like Kermit kind of spot
00:01:12Some bold, racy stuff
00:01:16But...
00:01:16These are a bit bold
00:01:19The gold-hot pants took it to another level
00:01:22All 50 pence worth
00:01:26And I said to the director
00:01:28Is it...
00:01:30Is it...
00:01:31Is it...
00:01:31I love them
00:01:32They're staying
00:01:36It was the first time I worked with a female director
00:01:40Cause you like it like this
00:01:42But I had no idea
00:01:45The shots were quite that close
00:01:48Until they did
00:01:49Now to wet you up and say
00:01:51We've got a lady
00:01:51Who's got me reaching for me
00:01:53Hot pants
00:01:53The gorgeous
00:01:54Kylie Minogue
00:02:01We can confirm Kylie Minogue
00:02:03Has her fifth UK number one hit single
00:02:06With Spinning Around
00:02:07And she's on the phone now
00:02:08Congratulations Kylie
00:02:09It's your biggest hit for over ten years
00:02:13I will say this
00:02:16It's good to be back
00:02:19The first single is whipping up more than a little controversy
00:02:22Thanks to our skimpy little shorts
00:02:24Would you go out the hostess like that?
00:02:28Well, let's just say I have
00:02:30It would have been absolute fright if I put them on these days
00:02:36Your bum has become like a force of nature in its own right
00:02:39I believe there are like websites devoted to it
00:02:41And there are children named after it
00:02:42And it's become...
00:02:43It's a huge phenomenon
00:02:44Your bum is enormous
00:02:50Okay
00:02:51Good chorus that
00:02:52You're sounding in fine voice today
00:02:54Oh, that's good
00:02:55Okay
00:02:57Let's go on to another track
00:03:04I heard it as a demo
00:03:08And then I was thrown into a panic saying
00:03:11Is it mine?
00:03:12Fire up the mic
00:03:13We've got to do this
00:03:15The official in case of 40
00:03:17Second highest new entry
00:03:19Alien Ant Farm and Smooth Criminal
00:03:24So we do have a new number one
00:03:27And we have her on the phone now
00:03:28Hi Kylie, you're top of the chart again
00:03:30I'm beside myself
00:03:33You're beginning to make this look easy
00:03:34And then I went off the rector
00:03:39So of course I arrived on a giant CD player
00:03:46Hanging on to like nothing
00:03:54So can you tell us...
00:03:56You're the creative director
00:03:57Can you tell us about your role
00:03:58And how does it all work?
00:03:59I smoke
00:04:00I do
00:04:03Do you want my head
00:04:04It's all about drawing attention to her
00:04:08I don't like seeing dancers' faces really
00:04:11If you have loads of different faces
00:04:14It takes attention away from her
00:04:15Which is why they all seem to be covered up
00:04:17And why they all hate me
00:04:23Obviously you've got sex appeal
00:04:25And sex sells
00:04:27Obviously you've got sex appeal
00:04:30You are very sexy
00:04:32Do you like looking sexy?
00:04:33I do
00:04:34Yeah
00:04:37I felt liberated
00:04:38I felt quite powerful
00:04:40And I was like
00:04:41Oh, okay
00:04:43Yeah
00:04:44What helps make it a sexy video
00:04:46Is that it is my personality coming through
00:04:49As opposed to what it's meant to be sexy
00:04:51But this is just...
00:04:53It's just me
00:04:55Whether it's that addictive beat or that scandalous dress...
00:04:59I love this song.
00:05:01It's that chick from the 80s.
00:05:02Kylie Minogue's catchy dance song
00:05:04seems to have caught on here in the state.
00:05:06We were discussing Kylie Minogue
00:05:08and how we was all feeling.
00:05:10Can't get you out of my head.
00:05:11I was feeling that I was grooving to it and everything.
00:05:13Right? Y'all's feeling it too.
00:05:19Hello. How are you?
00:05:20Nice to see you.
00:05:24Healthy.
00:05:25I think this could be fucking great, you know.
00:05:28And we'll pay by numbers
00:05:31till something sticks
00:05:34Don't mind doing it for the kids
00:05:38So come on!
00:05:42I mean, some people ask me about looking sexy
00:05:45with a tone in their voice like,
00:05:47well, is that right? Should you be doing that?
00:05:49And I say, well, I wouldn't like to feel that I couldn't be myself.
00:05:54It is part of my character.
00:05:55And there was a knowing to it.
00:05:58And winking.
00:06:00Can I have another one of these, please?
00:06:02Of course.
00:06:03Is that alright? Was that enough money?
00:06:05Mm, mm.
00:06:05Yeah?
00:06:06Delightful.
00:06:07Okay.
00:06:08We think we'd do one more.
00:06:09Yep.
00:06:10Just cause we can.
00:06:11Oh my God.
00:06:13How are you doing?
00:06:14Go, go, go.
00:06:14Go, go, go.
00:06:15Go, go, go, go, go.
00:06:25Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, and go.
00:06:29I would like to know gay people always have been in love with you yeah what's
00:06:34the reason there was a time in the beginning of my career when I was having
00:06:40this tirade of nastiness just for being myself and I think my gay audience may
00:06:45have related to that I feel like I could go to war with my gay audience and they
00:06:55were there way back when it was the most uncool thing I just want to say a
00:07:00heartfelt thank you to all of you for your support throughout the years
00:07:05I just want you to know that I'm here for you
00:07:12and the Grammy goes to
00:07:22it felt great to be amongst people who are just celebrating you for being
00:07:26yourself
00:07:31pop was a dirty word
00:07:43what I've come to realize I hope you're recording is
00:07:50I might not be blessed with a voice from the heavens
00:07:53I have anyone else's voice
00:08:13what I have is my voice
00:08:28first half was good wasn't it and it came in with a funny note
00:08:34yeah yeah just stay on that don't go up high because it's a bit dodger
00:08:40oh okay
00:08:42try it
00:08:43good luck
00:08:47sorry
00:08:50I'm a lot
00:09:11that's great well done
00:09:13yeah
00:09:13best of luck
00:09:15come on come on

00:09:36welcome please
00:09:37Kylie Minogue
00:09:40the last time you came on the program I talked to you about your relationships and
00:09:44you've got a new fellow now you're a Frenchman
00:09:46are Frenchmen better than English guys
00:09:49how can I possibly say that
00:09:54for next guest tonight is a French actor please welcome Olivier Martinez
00:09:59I can't ride a motorbike but I love being on the back of a motorbike
00:10:03I love it
00:10:07especially if you're on the back of the bike of the man you love
00:10:11but is he the one though is Olivier the one
00:10:14uh he could be I don't know
00:10:20this has got nothing to do with me I feel that I'm in the world I can see stuff and
00:10:25no one can see you it's just it's like freedom in Paris
00:10:31what about children I mean you're 35 now but you're leaving a bit late aren't you 35
00:10:36I'm aware of this life
00:10:40I was not too late
00:10:43but obviously a woman of my age can't help but think about those things
00:11:01plus
00:11:01uh long last how are you getting on
00:11:04I'm headlining Glastonbury which was a huge
00:11:08a huge deal
00:11:09it's a really good idea
00:11:13because I was a pop artist
00:11:16okay bye
00:11:20people like me didn't headline Glastonbury
00:11:26you let us know when you're coming
00:11:29when I've watched other people perform there
00:11:35trying to take in the breadth of that audience
00:11:41it's kind of impossible
00:11:46so it was huge
00:11:48and I was ready for it
00:11:51the event is expected to be sold out in just seven hours
00:12:00so life was it was good
00:12:05but I am a fatalist
00:12:06somewhere out there they're looking down saying
00:12:08all right this is the bit where she thinks she's got it together
00:12:10and it's all going to go pear-shaped
00:12:20okay and leave it
00:12:23okay
00:12:38but I was really tired
00:12:42I remember
00:12:45I don't know like putting just putting my head down a bit more often
00:12:50a few more photos of me just out
00:12:59and there was not a lot of me anyway
00:13:03it was pretty tiny but I was like like a little bit tinier
00:13:09how are you feeling
00:13:12I can't actually speak just yet sorry
00:13:15I'm having it
00:13:20I kept saying maybe I'm too old for this
00:13:29but I was ill and I didn't know I was ill
00:13:36it's cancer we're talking about
00:13:37but I don't even think I said the word
00:13:39yep
00:13:44but at the time I was on a world tour
00:13:48and I was due on stage in two or three days
00:13:50so I had to have a pretty good reason not to turn up
00:13:59but then I had a check in London
00:14:02to check a lump
00:14:03and was told
00:14:08it's fine
00:14:15and let's just put it this way
00:14:17by the time I got to Australia
00:14:19it wasn't fine
00:14:27I went for a screening
00:14:32and a few biopsies later
00:14:35they told me the news
00:14:39I just kind of fell into a chair
00:14:43and then left in a total daze
00:14:48what's happened
00:14:50what does that mean
00:14:53it's like the earth's just on a different axis
00:14:55or like reality
00:14:57where's reality gone
00:14:58nothing felt real
00:15:01and yet it couldn't be more real
00:15:06did you and Kylie argue when you were younger
00:15:08of course
00:15:11sisters
00:15:13I was in London
00:15:15my parents phoned me
00:15:18they said look
00:15:19we didn't want to do this on the phone
00:15:21but we need to let you know
00:15:25Kylie's not well
00:15:29and that you've got pretty much 24 hours
00:15:31to get back to Australia
00:15:32before the news is going to hit
00:15:36but it's a 26 hour flight away
00:15:43there's the one thing that's me
00:15:45and my family
00:15:46but the second thing is this news
00:15:48what do we say and what do we do
00:15:52because if we said it that was it
00:15:54you've got the headlines
00:15:55it would be all over the news
00:15:57government sets out its agenda
00:15:59and I really needed stillness to try and compute what's happening
00:16:08but my entire crew were making the stage and waiting for me
00:16:14so
00:16:17obviously the tour was cancelled
00:16:21at six o'clock
00:16:23the pop singer Kylie Minogue
00:16:24has been diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer
00:16:27the 36 year old star has postponed her world tour
00:16:43Danny flew out of London today to be with her sister
00:16:49somebody said there's a film crew here
00:16:51trying to get an interview with you
00:16:55and I said I haven't spoken to my sister yet
00:17:00and my head was just jet lagged
00:17:03and then I'm thinking
00:17:04oh shit
00:17:06if this is what's happening here
00:17:14the Minogue family have been reunited at the family home
00:17:17for one of the most difficult days they've faced
00:17:25intrusion at a level
00:17:29that none of us had experienced
00:17:31we're just wondering if there's any comment on reports
00:17:34that Kylie's back in Melbourne
00:17:36in normal times news of her disease would have been released
00:17:40several weeks later
00:17:42but because there were concerts due to start here
00:17:45they had to release the details of her illness right away
00:17:51how's Kylie doing this morning
00:17:52everybody is very hungry for news
00:17:54so we very much are at the ground floor
00:17:57if you like of this disease
00:17:58almost as part of the family
00:18:04we're going
00:18:04oh my god
00:18:05poor neighbours
00:18:07do you know how she's feeling
00:18:12yeah she'll be fine
00:18:13I'm sure she'll be fine
00:18:14the worst point was
00:18:16dad needed to go for a walk around the block with the dog
00:18:19the dog needed to go for a walk around the block
00:18:25and he couldn't get out of the gate
00:18:30nothing was healthy in any way
00:18:34and it really
00:18:37really made me angry
00:18:41and there are reports that she will be going into hospital today
00:18:46do we know where she's going to be treated
00:18:50it's understood the operation to remove the lump
00:18:53will take place at Cabrini Hospital
00:18:55where security has been increased
00:18:58medical staff have been offered a serious amount of money
00:19:02to take photos
00:19:05and I was feeling in the depths of
00:19:11absolute uncertainty
00:19:15and that was just the beginning
00:19:17Kylie Minogue returned home late this afternoon
00:19:21huddled on the back seat
00:19:24and I was so scared
00:19:26of what was ahead of me
00:19:35but thankfully I had my family
00:19:40it's so hypnotising isn't it
00:19:43and we're like
00:19:44what did they say
00:19:45nothing
00:19:47no matter what happens
00:19:49I know
00:19:50my brother
00:19:51sister
00:19:52and my mum and dad will always be there for me
00:19:54so 26 hours
00:19:56we're there for each other
00:19:59and that's how our family rolls
00:20:02so have you found the last few days of reflecting
00:20:07with people staring at you
00:20:11how's that been?
00:20:14interesting
00:20:15yeah
00:20:15yeah
00:20:16um
00:20:19we have never done anything like this before
00:20:21so
00:20:22it's not as scary as I thought it might be actually
00:20:26I think it's because we were in the dark
00:20:29oh my god
00:20:30oh yes
00:20:33you've had such tenacity really
00:20:36yeah
00:20:36well I wonder where she got that from
00:20:38you set the tone
00:20:41my mum's always been there with me
00:20:44but she is the opposite of Dan and I
00:20:48does not want to be on camera
00:20:50I wish we could show a shot of Carol
00:20:52because they
00:20:53there she is
00:20:54can we can we see her right
00:20:55there she is
00:20:56hiding
00:20:57hiding
00:20:58good on you Carol
00:21:01she was on the road with me for all my early years
00:21:05and my mum's just running away from the camera
00:21:07because she doesn't want to be seen
00:21:08she's a hero
00:21:10hand washing all the dancers clothes
00:21:12hot gluing diamantes onto costumes
00:21:14no this is my mother
00:21:17mum's pretty much seen it all
00:21:20yeah we did drag you to Mardi Gras
00:21:22that was hilarious
00:21:23oh my god
00:21:25when you met you two
00:21:26for the second time
00:21:28and you'd forgotten you'd met them
00:21:30and the edge came running over going
00:21:32Carol Carol
00:21:33she's going who is that who is that
00:21:34and I'm going
00:21:35it's the edge from you two you've met him before
00:21:37you know
00:21:38she's definitely rock and roll enough
00:21:41oh I haven't met you
00:21:42oh
00:21:44you are a Minogue
00:21:45you are
00:21:46this is where all the beauty comes from
00:21:48but if she didn't like something she would have given a look
00:21:51how are you
00:21:52I'm fine
00:21:55people I love
00:21:55I think oh no I had it once I don't want it
00:21:57they're just they're still traumatised
00:21:59you climbed out the window to go bowling
00:22:02and then mum turned up
00:22:04finished my bowl
00:22:05yeah
00:22:06I turned around and I will
00:22:08arms folded
00:22:09never
00:22:10ever
00:22:11ever
00:22:12because you have the look
00:22:13it was like this
00:22:14yeah
00:22:14I was backlit
00:22:15it was like Stephen's building
00:22:16I walked up those stairs
00:22:17sparks and fire coming from you
00:22:19and I stood at the trouble
00:22:21but whenever the going got tough
00:22:24she was there
00:22:38when you try your best that you thought succeed
00:22:45so everybody's kind of pace to see Kylie Minogue
00:22:48so
00:22:48we thought well
00:22:49shouldn't we kind of salute absent friends
00:22:54stream down your face
00:22:58I watched Glastonbury
00:23:05from my bedroom
00:23:09with a lot of emotion
00:23:15Coldplay dedicated Fix You to me
00:23:18so there I was just weeping
00:23:29and I was a prisoner in the house
00:23:31the thing is wherever she's going to be treated
00:23:34she would have to stay there for several months
00:23:38I remember saying to my parents
00:23:40I can't stay here
00:23:43I want to do my chemotherapy in Paris
00:23:53but my dad really didn't want me to go
00:23:55like I can only imagine as a parent
00:23:58your instinct to want to protect your child
00:24:06especially in that moment
00:24:09but I said I've just I've got to go
00:24:14and that was really hard
00:24:28but my mum came with me
00:24:30so there's someone keeping an eye on me
00:24:37and that was such a blessing
00:24:43because I needed her
00:24:44now more than ever
00:24:59so here we can see the cancer
00:25:01which you can't see on the normal image
00:25:05here we can see the spread to the lymph nodes
00:25:08and these groups
00:25:09I was in and out of hospital
00:25:11we can do a local or wide excision
00:25:14chemotherapy
00:25:15simple or radical
00:25:17radiotherapy
00:25:19and facing a long journey
00:25:25and I've been so self-conscious about losing my hair
00:25:30and so first I cut it
00:25:33and it's just like you hear about
00:25:39clumps
00:25:39there's no other way to say clumps come out
00:25:44so I buzz cut the whole thing
00:25:49how did I feel
00:25:52that was the least of my worries at that point in time
00:25:57I remember the pain
00:26:00just to get down the street was a real achievement
00:26:04I felt removed from my body
00:26:09removed from the world
00:26:15and yeah the mind goes to really dark places
00:26:19the chemotherapy was so hard
00:26:23physically
00:26:25mentally
00:26:27and
00:26:29you've met my sister
00:26:30she's tiny
00:26:34I remember mum calling me
00:26:36she's like we're in ICU again
00:26:38she can't feel her fingers
00:26:40and I'm not allowed to go in the room
00:26:44we didn't know
00:26:46if she's ever going to be well again
00:26:55it was that bad like is she going to live through this?
00:27:04hi there I'm
00:27:06take two
00:27:08you mentioned your new single
00:27:09so maybe you can say hi I'm Danny Minogue
00:27:11at the time
00:27:12I was working in London
00:27:15hi there I'm Danny Minogue
00:27:16and this is my new single
00:27:18thank you so much
00:27:21so I could just pop over and get to see her
00:27:24and it would give mum the break
00:27:27she needed for her sanity
00:27:33I remember saying
00:27:34if I could chop off one of my arms now
00:27:37and this would all go away
00:27:38I would
00:27:40I would
00:27:45I just felt so helpless
00:27:47where are you up to today?
00:27:49there was nothing I could do for her
00:27:51done one full run through
00:27:53we won't do a full run now
00:27:55but we'll do a little bit
00:27:57so you get a vibe
00:27:58which song do I get to hear?
00:28:01so
00:28:02lights come action in your eyes
00:28:04get out of my way
00:28:05what do I have to do?
00:28:06but then I thought about
00:28:07hello
00:28:09what had always kept us together
00:28:13okay I'll play music
00:28:14that's what I'll do
00:28:22that went back to what we knew
00:28:26back to the beginning
00:28:30that feeling of being around the record player again
00:28:34that feeling of family
00:28:36in the darkest place
00:28:38hey
00:28:43so we're going over the hearts
00:28:45yes all the rain
00:28:47Danny would put the music on
00:28:48get me moving a little bit
00:28:50oh we're just
00:28:52and mum was with us
00:28:54in the stars we change
00:28:56so it was like the girls
00:28:59in the process of getting her better
00:29:03music kept us going
00:29:05I think about you
00:29:12and one evening
00:29:15during chemotherapy treatment
00:29:17there was one little window
00:29:19and through that little window
00:29:22the Eiffel Tower started sparkling
00:29:25and I was like
00:29:27she's sparkling for me
00:29:28I thought I'm not finished
00:29:31this is not where I want to say goodbye
00:29:35so say something say something
00:29:38tell me how I feel
00:29:40and the day that I might have one eyelash
00:29:44would be like
00:29:45or the day I would put some make
00:29:47a little bit of makeup on
00:29:49was like a big
00:29:51a big deal
00:29:54it was so thrilling
00:29:56I'm like yeah
00:29:58let's put diamonds on
00:29:59and never ends
00:30:00and never ends
00:30:02for love
00:30:07can we be all
00:30:09can we be all
00:30:10it's the first time we've seen Kylie
00:30:13headscarf free
00:30:16and she's your baby
00:30:18and when I got out of
00:30:20the danger zone
00:30:22there was still a long way to go
00:30:27hi Kylie
00:30:29but I just wanted to be
00:30:31with my sister
00:30:32hi
00:30:35London Sun newspaper broke the news
00:30:38Kylie fans the world over
00:30:39have been waiting for
00:30:40after months of chemotherapy
00:30:42the pop princess has been declared cancer free
00:30:54oh
00:30:58yes
00:30:59well
00:31:05oh
00:31:11yes
00:31:12yeah
00:31:15Oh
00:31:38Experts call it the Kylie effect
00:31:41a thousand more women a day are booking screenings
00:31:46now in this exclusive interview she talks for the first time about coping with cancer
00:31:51you look incredible thanks no seriously like glowy and healthy and sparkly eyes and smiley
00:32:01well i'm happy to be here i see things differently i don't have strength i don't have stamina
00:32:07i don't have everything that i took for granted before and i'm still going through it it's
00:32:13not like hey it's all over and it doesn't stop like that does it no it doesn't i still
00:32:17have treatments i didn't write much about my experience maybe in my life now i would but
00:32:24i certainly didn't feel like this is the time to do an entire album about what i've just
00:32:29been through it's a bit too close let's see was it a conscious decision by you that marriage
00:32:34and babies come later um no no i've just just rolled along oh here we go here we go oh
00:32:47huh what is this um i didn't think we'd get to there
00:32:55there's there's there's so much more to cancer than just you had it you got through it and
00:33:01you're fine you're fine for now um i was 36 when i got my diagnosis so already it's you you
00:33:15need
00:33:16to be thinking about children so i i did try i even postponed my chemotherapy to try um which
00:33:29is quite scary at the time because i just wanted you just wanted you want it out gone i want
00:33:36to feel
00:33:38safe i don't want this um but yeah i did try a few times with ivf always with such a
00:33:52it was such a thread of hope
00:33:57hope but i couldn't not try she's just amazing with kids she's always been good with kids
00:34:10just naturally one incredible two two one two good i know i'll have children i know that much
00:34:24i wouldn't have just one i definitely have more than one okay she's amazing with her nephews
00:34:35i never saw myself being a parent and she always did that is
00:34:49that's heartbreaking
00:34:54i did try ivf like a number of times
00:35:00if it had happened it would have been just right of a miracle
00:35:06but it didn't work out that way
00:35:12so this was like a letter to what might have been
00:35:23distant child my flower are you blowing in the breeze
00:35:28can you feel me as i breathe life into you
00:35:33wrapped in a blanket of hope asleep in a bed of dreams
00:35:38my step into eternity is not what it might have been
00:35:43or not at all for who knows which way the wind is going to blow
00:35:48or not at all for who knows which way the wind is going to blow
00:35:53or not at all for who knows which way the wind is going to blow
00:35:56i'm waiting for your gentle whisper distant child my flower
00:36:02are you blowing in the breeze can you feel me as i breathe life into you
00:36:11kids would you like some at some stage yeah i would love them
00:36:16we have to see about that
00:36:18yeah
00:36:22one can't help but wonder
00:36:25what it would have been like and
00:36:29i'm so close to my family
00:36:34it just it it it wasn't it wasn't my path
00:36:39so that's what i was writing about like
00:36:43even if you didn't come to be
00:36:46you're somewhere we all become something
00:36:49even if it's ash and we become something else
00:36:55so it's kind of hopeful and realistic at the same time
00:36:58that is the end of my box
00:37:12should we light a bonfire
00:37:14i won't know
00:37:17this way that lights up the stairs
00:37:19yeah
00:37:21having had cancer
00:37:22i said to my manager call so-and-so and so-and-so
00:37:27i understand if they don't want to work with me anymore
00:37:31i just thought that that might be it
00:37:38oh i knew it i knew i'd come out with all emotional
00:37:41oh
00:37:46hi i'll say hello in between
00:37:49people had tickets to her music show so we'd offer they could you know hand their tickets
00:37:54back in and they would reimburse them and
00:38:08i heard that people held on to their tickets
00:38:13we're here when you're ready to come back we're here
00:38:19but i wasn't as strong i wasn't as fit
00:38:25they would have been concerned
00:38:26are you ready can you handle it
00:38:29so i had a mountain to climb but
00:38:32i didn't fancy hanging around at the bottom of the mountain
00:38:35i was like when can we fire up this tour again
00:38:43no no you do this one
00:38:45she was like i just need to finish the tour like she's so professional
00:38:53i'm like oh for god's sake we need to keep you alive
00:38:56but this one's slower
00:38:58then when you do the last one
00:38:59but she was determined right
00:39:01that's i'll think the worst
00:39:03see what i mean
00:39:04and then from here you're walking
00:39:06and you're bringing the hand up
00:39:07you still like it work
00:39:08yeah
00:39:09yeah i just wanted to
00:39:11feel able
00:39:12again that's what i wanted to feel
00:39:16able
00:39:17one two three four one two three four
00:39:24you could look at it that it's just a show
00:39:27follow
00:39:29nice
00:39:30but it's not just a show to me
00:39:33to here
00:39:34it's my other home
00:39:36good news for kylie minogue fans
00:39:38her concert's back on in what she's now calling her homecoming tour
00:39:41the tour will be going ahead
00:39:43obviously she's still got a few mountains to climb
00:39:46okay
00:39:47all right
00:39:48just uh let's take a break
00:39:52but it wasn't easy
00:39:56i felt so drained
00:39:58just take it gently
00:40:00i felt like my body was a battleground
00:40:03go quicker
00:40:05it was such an effort to get up to show speed again
00:40:08just give me a shout
00:40:10if it's painful
00:40:14i had to find the strength in my voice again
00:40:18do a little bit toward the eight just a touch
00:40:20okay
00:40:21okay
00:40:23i didn't actually know if i could do it

00:43:07huh
00:43:08oh
00:43:12this is a song which was written
00:43:14after coming through cancer
00:43:19wave of love coming over me
00:43:21got the sound of you ringing in my ears
00:43:26sun coming up on another day
00:43:28got a secondhand chance
00:43:44going to do it again
00:43:46gold rainbow
00:43:47colours and no more rain
00:43:57so i was trying to flash forward to being
00:44:01i just keep trying to get back on stage
00:44:04life makes sense to me on stage
00:44:14glitter drop fall
00:44:15that's the stage to me
00:44:17got a glitter drop fall and i'm on my knees
00:44:19i wanted to like fall to my knees on the stage
00:44:24got the sound of you ringing in my ears
00:44:34sun coming up on another day
00:44:36got a secondhand chance
00:44:38going to do it again
00:44:39got rainbow colours and no more rain
00:45:00and love carries the hurt that you hold
00:45:02funny how life can't unfold
00:45:03oh yeah it feels like a wave of love
00:45:13but it didn't come through all of that and think pop music
00:45:16who cares
00:45:22in the scheme of things it's not that important
00:45:28but in that moment it actually means everything
00:45:38clear in the way
00:45:51say you won't live in no more
00:45:56i'll take you back again
00:45:58no more excuses
00:46:01no no
00:46:02Cause I heard them all before
00:46:06A hundred times before
00:46:12I'll forgive and forget
00:46:16If you say I'll never go
00:46:20Cause it's true what they say
00:46:24It's better than ever before
00:46:45I was saved. I really was.
00:46:55Of course you learn what resilience means and
00:46:57What love means
00:47:03Unbelievable
00:47:06Just fantastic
00:47:10I just unbelievable
00:47:12Can't wait for a second now
00:47:15Dad is dancing
00:47:17Oh no you're doing the dad dance
00:47:20Yes
00:47:22But having had cancer
00:47:25One important thing to know is
00:47:27You're still the same person
00:47:28And I remember coming out the other end
00:47:33Feeling more like myself than ever before
00:47:35Whole night
00:47:36There's plenty of
00:47:37One
00:47:37Two
00:47:38Two
00:47:42One
00:47:50Three
00:47:52Three
00:47:52Two
00:47:55One
00:48:04One
00:48:05One
00:48:24and I had unfinished business let's put it that way okay Kylie has some big news what is it
00:48:34yes she's announced that she's gonna be performing at Glastonbury festival yeah but my nerves were off the charts I
00:48:47couldn't even say the word Glastonbury it was like that's the short show short show completely depends on the audience
00:48:53disappointment for many Glastonbury fans tickets sold out in 40 minutes this morning the event will host around 200,000
00:49:03visitors
00:49:04this is live to TV this is happening Kayla says she is thrilled to be playing so this will be
00:49:12amazeballs
00:49:16straight into lucky no tribes no tribes I was terrified that it would be like Spinal Tap
00:49:29it's kind of my job to be anxious or is it my job to pretend I'm not there's huge props
00:49:40on this stage
00:49:47in the days when 410 I remember practically redecorating my house
00:49:55like I'm just gonna do something just gonna do this I do get kind of busy with decoration
00:50:04that looks more chic to my entire life hi there hi I just need to busy myself like yep get
00:50:12the garlands we'll string the garlands up what is she doing just leave her be
00:50:22tomorrow the pyramid stage opens at one of the greatest festivals in the world and for many
00:50:29people who play here especially if it's their first gigs this really is the calm before the storm
00:50:58and the top story this lunchtime Kylie will be getting her wellies and waterproofs ready just in
00:51:03case and it's the first time she's ever played Glastonbury here's a look at the lineup
00:51:08she'll be joined at the festival by artists such as the killers posey a vampire weekend in 2005 yeah people
00:51:16like me didn't really get to play Glastonbury some legends in there as well such as Interpol
00:51:23Wu-Tang Clan and the cure and so I didn't know if anyone would show up for me so we
00:51:33are almost at the
00:51:33time I could feel the excitement Kylie Minogue on the pyramid stage I was so nervous you can't even imagine
00:51:48but someone said before David Bowie played Glastonbury he couldn't talk to anyone I felt a lot better
00:51:59even if you're David Bowie he's still nervous
00:52:17but it was all
00:52:29tell us all to god
00:52:42thank you so much
00:52:58It was such a wave of love isn't that an incredible sign
00:53:08I had so much goodness from so many people who were there and beyond who had willed me to
00:53:20reach that stage it really was a point where I felt like I think I might have
00:53:33I think I might have done it
00:53:52It would have been rude to not allow that to come in because it was a marker that I wasn't
00:54:01able to give myself
00:54:06Can't you see there's so much of what you feel
00:54:10Deep inside your heart you know I'm real
00:54:14Can't you see that this is going higher, higher, higher, higher, real
00:54:21I think was the most watched last and brief performance of all time
00:54:26It was beautiful to see how much love was directed at her
00:54:29You know what the world loves essentially about Kylie is that she really went through something
00:54:35That's the definition of joy in a way which is that
00:54:40capacity to be able to sort of rise out of a certain suffering
00:54:53And to see the world in a positive way
00:55:00And her connection with the audience
00:55:04It's not phony
00:55:08It's very real for her
00:55:12It is a true form of love
00:55:18And that on some level is enough
00:55:22Just give me a little bit more
00:55:25They don't copy
00:55:28Little Kylie got there
00:55:30All the lovers
00:55:41The one and only Mr. Nick King
00:55:47Were our fans nicer to you this time?
00:55:50I think they just looked at me with a kind of pity
00:55:53Oh, he's back again
00:56:25Quick
00:56:26Quick
00:56:27Let's go
00:56:29Should we talk about the future?
00:56:33I'm probably spending more time here
00:56:37In this lovely peaceful environment
00:56:40And, you know, discovering whatever that thing called balance is
00:56:47You should have been in the industry for a long time
00:56:49It's a long time
00:56:50I mean, we've seen you grow up
00:56:51How do you think you can last?
00:56:54There's a lot of borderline insulting
00:57:26Asking questions about my age these days
00:57:26I just didn't go around
00:57:27I just did nothing
00:57:37But I am my own worst enemy
00:57:41It's like, go away everyone
00:57:44Where is everyone?
00:57:49Maximum three days between those two phrases
00:57:53Sometimes just a few hours
00:57:57Breaking news
00:57:58Breaking news, Kylie put out the single from her 16th album
00:58:02No signs she's slowing down
00:58:06Next thing
00:58:07We're going on tour
00:58:11Kylie is back
00:58:12With a song people are saying is her raciest single yet
00:58:18And it's an absolute banger
00:58:20The year's biggest dance here
00:58:22What?
00:58:23What?
00:58:24Oh my God
00:58:24It's burning
00:58:25Oh my God
00:58:32It felt like I was just getting started
00:58:36It's the song of the summer
00:58:38And it's gone viral
00:58:47The Grammy goes to
00:58:50Padam Padam
00:58:51Kylie Minogue
00:59:17Welcome
00:59:18Welcome
00:59:21Wow
00:59:23Hi
00:59:24Hi
00:59:25Oh gosh, hi
00:59:29Hey, hey, hey
00:59:30Hi
00:59:31So you've been running through songs
00:59:33Running through vocals
00:59:35And they're getting there?
00:59:37Maybe start with the least done
00:59:59I've got to get him out
01:00:06I've got to get him out
01:00:09Can I ask?
01:00:12What's Kylie like to work with?
01:00:14Oh
01:00:15Nightmare
01:00:15That's when I say night
01:00:28That's when I say night
01:00:31Well it's 25 years we've been writing songs together
01:00:40Everyone says about the joy of you but it's more than that
01:00:44Right, what have we got next?
01:00:46We've written songs that probably no one would ever know what they're about apart from you and me
01:00:50And to hear them live is really difficult, beautiful but difficult
01:00:55This time of year
01:00:58This time of year
01:00:59This time of year
01:01:15There's a song that we wrote
01:01:17A song called story
01:01:21And story was written because
01:01:25I
01:01:33My second cancer diagnosis was in early 2021
01:01:44I don't want it, I just
01:01:46So
01:01:49I was able to keep that to myself
01:01:51And go through that year
01:01:54And
01:01:56Not like the first time
01:01:57I don't even think
01:01:58Do you know?
01:01:59I don't think
01:01:59You don't know this
01:02:02Um
01:02:04Ooh
01:02:06Yeah
01:02:07Yeah
01:02:08Yeah
01:02:13Wow
01:02:15I've been trying to find that
01:02:16The right
01:02:19The right time to say it
01:02:21I don't feel obliged to tell the world
01:02:25And actually I just couldn't at the time
01:02:27Because I was
01:02:29I was just a shell of a person
01:02:35I didn't want to leave the house again at one point
01:02:40But
01:02:40But I'm
01:02:40But I'm open so many doors for me
01:02:42But
01:02:43On the inside
01:02:44I knew
01:02:45That
01:02:45Cancer wasn't
01:02:47Just a blip in my life
01:02:48Draw cameras
01:02:50Yes
01:02:52And I really just wanted to say
01:02:56What happened
01:02:58Kylie, good morning
01:02:59Welcome to
01:03:00So I can let go of it
01:03:01Hi, how are you?
01:03:03Well, we're great
01:03:04And I've got to say
01:03:05Congratulations on the album
01:03:06That came outside
01:03:07I sit through interviews
01:03:08The reviews have been
01:03:10And every opportunity I thought
01:03:12Now's the time
01:03:13How are you feeling right now?
01:03:16I kept it
01:03:17To myself
01:03:19So
01:03:19I needed to
01:03:21Have something that marked that
01:03:23Time
01:03:26Do you know the chords?
01:03:28Yeah
01:03:30Do I know the lyrics?
01:03:32I've just cried my eyes out
01:03:34How can I sing?
01:03:35Look up to the one
01:03:37Look up to the one
01:03:37Look up to the one
01:03:38Okay, let's try it
01:03:40And what we ended up with
01:03:44Was something that said what I wanted to say
01:03:47I had a secret that I kept to myself, yeah
01:03:53I had a one way ticket that was going nowhere
01:04:01You could be the one
01:04:02You could be my son
01:04:04Thankfully
01:04:05I got through it
01:04:07Again
01:04:07Take away the light
01:04:09And all is well
01:04:13Hey, who knows what's around the corner?
01:04:19But pop music nurtures me
01:04:24Pop can elate you if you're feeling depressed
01:04:27It can soothe you
01:04:29It can be a type of salvation for some people
01:04:34Everything will be alright
01:04:38My passion for music is greater than ever
01:04:41There's that song that hasn't been written
01:04:44There's that person to read
01:04:46So my story continues
01:04:48And you are part of my story
01:04:50I didn't walk on the wild side
01:04:53A fall in the night sky
01:04:55I didn't let the world know
01:04:57I, I, I
01:04:58I was fighting the big fight
01:05:00Turning the dark like
01:05:02Raging hot on the other side
01:05:08Hot on the other side
01:05:16You said
01:05:17Turn around the pain
01:05:19Baby, take the stake
01:05:20You know the stars are coming away
01:05:23Everything will flow
01:05:25Baby, feel the glow
01:05:26You know, you know, you know
01:05:29Yeah, so
01:05:30Turn around the pain
01:05:31Baby, take the stake
01:05:33You know the stars are coming away
01:05:36Everything will flow
01:05:38Baby, feel the glow
01:05:39You know, you know, you know
01:05:42You know, you know
01:05:43You know my story
01:05:50If our light were to shine
01:05:52Every tear that I cry
01:05:54A million stars would be shining tonight
01:05:57If a bell were to ring
01:05:59Every if, every why
01:06:01The symphony sound would be higher than high
01:06:05I've been alone, been alone in the rain
01:06:09Wondering how everything's gonna change
01:06:12But when you tell me you see the world in my eyes
01:06:16Then I got my lights
01:06:20Then I got my lights
01:06:24Light up
01:06:27And the stars all shine for you
01:06:31I light up
01:06:40There's a light up
01:06:53There's a light up in the sky
01:06:56There's a light up in the night
01:06:58There's a light up in the night
01:06:59There's a light up every time you look into my eyes
01:07:02I feel your love everywhere
01:07:04I feel your love always there
01:07:06I feel your love always there
01:07:07I feel your love, yeah
01:07:07Yeah, yeah
01:07:09I light up
01:07:16I light up
01:07:28There's a light up in the night
01:07:28There's a light up in the night
01:07:28There's a light up in the night
01:07:28There's a light up in the night
01:07:29There's a light up in the night
01:07:29There's a light up in the night
01:07:29There's a light up in the night
01:07:41There's a light up in the night
