Transcript
00:00If we win, oh my god, all the bad in England will just go away for four years.
00:08There's four years of vibes.
00:10Yeah, four years of, you know what, it's alright.
00:24We're at Dagenhamer Redbridge with one of the owners, KSI, and this is You Ask the Questions.
00:29So we've got a load of questions from our readers, viewers, socialists, they've all sent loads in.
00:35Firstly, you've got your fingers in so many pies.
00:37Yes.
00:38How do you introduce yourself now?
00:40What would your LinkedIn say?
00:42I'd just say entertainer.
00:43Yeah, that's it.
00:44Just one word, entertainer.
00:46Covers everything.
00:47Covers absolutely everything.
00:48Are you more of a JJ or KSI when it comes to board meetings and emails?
00:53I'd say JJ when it comes to that type of stuff.
00:57Have you always wanted to be involved in professional football?
01:00Yes.
01:01I've always wanted to have something to do with professional football because, you know, I'm always watching it.
01:09I'm obsessed with it.
01:11You know, we've got the World Cup in a few weeks' time.
01:14We've got plenty of football going on.
01:18And now, obviously, being a part of the owner of Duggan Redbridge, I'm just obsessed.
01:22So where did the obsession start then?
01:25Obviously on FIFA.
01:26But what was it about them?
01:27So it started with FIFA in terms of my obsession with football.
01:33And then my grandma, who got me a jumper, an Arsenal jumper, got me invested in Arsenal.
01:44And whenever they were in the FA Cup, I was able to watch them.
01:47That was about it because I couldn't afford Sky.
01:50But I saw Thierry Henry actually tearing up the Premier League.
01:56And I just became a massive fan from then.
01:59Yeah.
02:00So that was my love of football, obsession with football.
02:04And then FIFA, Race Division 1 came into play.
02:08And that just, you know, took off.
02:10And, yeah, I just became obsessed.
02:12And I became the FIFA guy on YouTube.
02:16So even friends at school would be like, oh, my God, I've seen videos of you playing FIFA
02:21and doing this crazy voice and all of that.
02:24And I'd get so embarrassed because I forgot that people would be able to see that eventually.
02:30So that's that.
02:32And then with Duggan Redbridge, you know, I've looked at a few clubs beforehand.
02:36And it just, you know, for whatever reason, didn't work out or didn't make sense for me.
02:44And then Duggan Redbridge came through and I fell in love.
02:50Yeah.
02:50I just loved everything about it.
02:53I felt like I really am able to make a stamp here and make a difference.
02:58So, yeah.
03:00What's one thing that surprised you about being a part owner of a club?
03:06Um, oh, well, that's a good question, you know.
03:12When I got announced, I expected to get a lot of hate.
03:16Huh.
03:17I expected a lot of people to be like, what do you know about football?
03:21This is a clown show.
03:24Get out.
03:25I don't want anything to do with you.
03:28I expected that.
03:29Yeah.
03:30Didn't happen.
03:31All love.
03:32All positivity.
03:33And that kind of threw me.
03:35I was there like, oh, wow.
03:36Like, I've got quite a tough skin.
03:39Yeah.
03:39So, like, even when, you know, we lose, I'm there like, it hurts.
03:44Honestly, it feels like I get stabbed in the heart every time we lose a game.
03:50But, you know, it's, you know, I'm able to, you know, weather the storm and continue.
03:55And, you know, I'll be the type of guy, even if I come in, come here and everyone's booing, you
04:01know, I'll face the music.
04:02I'll be happy to do it and, you know, still try my best to make a change and, you know,
04:10do better for the club.
04:11For us, it's all about making sure we get bombs and seeds.
04:14Yeah.
04:14If we're able to get the bombs and seeds and get people invested in the club, get people excited about
04:18the club, then, oh, we're laughing.
04:23Is working alongside Andy Carroll a bit strange, considering you grew up and he was in the Euro squad?
04:28Yeah, it's crazy.
04:29I remember playing with him on FIFA as well.
04:33And now he is, you know, part of the club with me just there chilling.
04:38And I'm there like, wait, what is my life?
04:40Like, I pinch myself so many times.
04:42Does he ever bring up the goals, like the header at the Euros or that bicycle kick first?
04:46No, no, no.
04:47He's quite humble.
04:48He's quite a humble guy.
04:50He just does his job, whether it's being interim manager or scoring goals as a player.
04:58He's very focused and wants the best of the club.
05:01Who would your dream front of shirt sponsor be?
05:04You can't pick Prime.
05:06Oh, that is an interesting question.
05:11Or do you have any favourite, like, sponsors from the past or favourite kits that you think, yeah, that could
05:16work quite well?
05:16You know, it's weird, but O2 was quite cool.
05:20This is Thierry Henry, I know exactly where you're going.
05:23It's probably just O2, yeah.
05:24When I think of that, I think of O2 and then a little bit of, like, these, like, vapour rub
05:28or something on the shirt, like Patrick Vieira used to put on his shirt.
05:31Oh, yeah, yeah.
05:31I always think of that when I think of that O2 kit.
05:34Yeah.
05:34Is there anything cool you'd like to add to the stadium?
05:38A games room, a streaming box, or any sort of, like, niche, maybe, unexpected thing to find?
05:45A streaming box would be really cool.
05:47That's a really, yeah, that's a really cool idea.
05:50If we could do that.
05:52I feel like I've seen them at Borla League, right?
05:54Yeah, yeah, yeah, it definitely adds to it, like, DAZN are definitely working with us to allow us to show
06:03more, like, you know, recently DAZN allowed us to livestream the game on YouTube, and, you know, that video hit,
06:12like, 300 plus thousand, which, for a non-league side, is crazy.
06:19You feel like the stadium, crazy amounts of time.
06:22Well, I mean, yeah, yeah, like, normally, most, well, I think the most you'd get is probably, for a game,
06:28in non-league, 10,000, if that.
06:32Yeah.
06:33Uh, watching online, or just on TV, so, to get 300,000, yeah, it's, it's wild.
06:41Would you like Dagnum and Redbridge to be great footballing entertainers or ruthless winners?
06:47Uh, number one.
06:48Or both, okay.
06:49Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:49It can't be both.
06:50Nah, I'd say, I want people to come to Dagnars FC and be like, I'm going to have a great
06:58time, it's going to be entertaining, entertaining football, and, obviously, the goal is to win every game, but if we
07:05can do it, you know, fantastically, I'm happy.
07:10If you were to play 38 games up front for Arsenal next season, no penalties, how many goals are you
07:16scoring, realistically?
07:18Oh, if I'm being honest, probably, like, one, maybe two.
07:22Who are you forming a partnership with?
07:25Um, I'd probably have to rely on my wingers, probably Sacco, or Martinelli, Trussard.
07:33I don't think I'd be able to out-muscle a lot of the defenders in the league.
07:38You could be a six-yard box poacher, just sniffing it around.
07:41Or I'm just chilling in the six-yard box the whole time, bro.
07:45Just goal-hanging, Nzaghi-type beat.
07:48Yeah, mate, it made a career out of it.
07:50Yeah, yeah, it's true.
07:50It made a career out of it.
07:51Which professional footballer is the biggest secret fan of the Sidemen?
07:56I mean, Harland, but, like, I don't mean it's a secret.
08:00Yeah.
08:00We filmed a video together.
08:02Eze.
08:03Yeah?
08:04Yeah, he's, you know, I talked to him a few times.
08:07He's a big fan.
08:09I know Sacco, which is sometimes whenever he can.
08:14Yeah, yeah.
08:16Which player in the Sidemen charity match takes it too seriously?
08:20I don't think anyone really takes it as seriously.
08:24Maybe Ginge.
08:25I was about to say, I've seen some of the tackles.
08:27Ginge, yeah.
08:28Ginge definitely puts his body on the line.
08:31So, yeah, maybe him.
08:32Is there a dream person or celebrity you'd love to have involved in the game?
08:36Playing.
08:37I mean, I don't know if he can play football, but Drake?
08:41Why not?
08:42Yeah.
08:43I actually have no idea if he can play football.
08:45So, those two things don't cross my mind.
08:47Yeah, yeah.
08:47You never know, man.
08:49Who's the most annoying when it comes to football in the Sidemen WhatsApp group?
08:54Probably everyone who isn't an Arsenal fan.
08:57Yeah.
08:58So, that, I'd say, like, Ethan, Harry, Freezy.
09:05Well, Josh supports more wall, so he just keeps quiet.
09:09Simon, et cetera.
09:11Is it, like, pure rage-making or that?
09:13Yeah, there's a lot of rage-making in the group chat.
09:21Is there any business you haven't gone into yet that you think you'd enjoy?
09:24No.
09:26Nothing.
09:26No, no, I'm happy with what I've got, I think.
09:30With football, care about football, love football, live and breathe it.
09:34Football's all around me.
09:36From Dagenham Redbridge to, you know, obviously the FIFA days to Border League to Arsenal to everything.
09:43Well, I'm just football, football, football, so it makes sense for me.
09:47And then music, you know, love music.
09:50Boxing, you know, I did that.
09:51So, like, yeah, I think I'm in a fantastic spot.
09:55What's one mistake that taught you the most throughout your career?
09:58Stepping off the treadmill, if that makes sense.
10:04Okay.
10:04As in...
10:05Not keeping up the momentum.
10:06Yeah, I think in this industry, momentum is really, really, really powerful.
10:13And it's hard work, but if you just keep going for a long period, eventually things start to move exponentially.
10:24And then when it does do that, a lot of times people relax and they stop.
10:29And then you come back down and you have to work hard to get back up there again.
10:34And there's a few, one or two times where I went off the treadmill wishing that I stayed on it
10:41and just kept going.
10:43So, yeah, I'd say, I'd say that.
10:46Sorry, there was just a spider that just, like...
10:48It was on me.
10:50Literally...
10:50I might have a question for you.
10:52...swung on your shirt.
10:54It's still there.
10:54It's still there.
10:55Yeah, let me...
10:56It's all right.
10:57Oh, no.
10:57Is it gone?
10:58Yeah.
10:58Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's gone.
11:00Oh, no.
11:00Right.
11:03It's gone.
11:03I killed it.
11:04Oh, my God.
11:05It's killed it.
11:06Big fan.
11:06Big fan of Dagon Rebirth.
11:08It was.
11:11What are some personal challenges that you'd like to complete in life?
11:15Marathon, climbing Everest, big family?
11:21I'd love to have a family for sure.
11:24That's, yeah, I'd say two.
11:26Two kids.
11:28Boy God, doesn't really matter.
11:30Just, like, wife.
11:32And then, yeah, I'm chilling.
11:34Being like, yeah, yeah, I'm in a good place.
11:36Got all...
11:37My whole ecosystem sorted.
11:40You know, got my football club here.
11:43Got the YouTube channel Buzz flying here.
11:46Got, you know, Prime doing its thing there.
11:49Yeah, in terms of things that aren't, like, family related, I guess it'd be cool to do a marathon.
11:56After watching the London Marathon recently, low-key made me go, you know what, I did do a half marathon
12:04a few weeks ago.
12:05Yeah.
12:05And I was alright with that, so I guess I could do a full one.
12:10I get that buzz after watching it for, like, a week.
12:12Yeah.
12:13Yeah, just classic.
12:14I could do that.
12:15Yeah.
12:15I'm not going to do that.
12:17Yeah, it's tough.
12:18But is it Sawe who won it?
12:20Yeah.
12:21Under two hours, one hour, 59 minutes, and 30 seconds.
12:26Incredible.
12:27That's a joke.
12:27Yeah.
12:28Last one, hopes for England at the World Cup this summer.
12:33I think it's going to be very tough.
12:36There's a lot of good teams.
12:37France, don't get me started on them, man.
12:41France look incredible.
12:43Spain have a good team, although I heard Jamal might be out.
12:46Yeah.
12:47Yeah, something doubtful.
12:49I don't know.
12:50I imagine Brazil will probably look, well, it would do quite well.
12:55Argentina.
12:57Portugal.
12:59Oh, man, it's a lot of good teams.
13:00I mean, we have an incredible team.
13:03Yeah.
13:04An incredible team.
13:06I guess we'll see, man.
13:09I don't want to be like, it's coming home.
13:11Yeah, yeah.
13:12No, I think we felt that during the Euros, and then there was heartbreak.
13:17So, you know, at this point in time, I'm just going to be like, whatever happens, happens.
13:21Yeah.
13:22If we win,
13:25if we win,
13:26oh, my God.
13:28Well, that's four years of just happy British people, man.
13:34Rage betting in the chat.
13:35Yeah.
13:36Well, well, well.
13:37I honestly, I think all the bad in England will just go away for four years.
13:46There's four years of vibes.
13:48Yeah, four years of, you know what?
13:51It's all right.
13:53All the issues is that, you know what?
13:56We won the World Cup.
13:57It's all good.
13:58Yeah, yeah, yeah.
14:00That's all from us at Dagnar and Redbridge with one of the owners, KSI.
