Both are nurses who crossed paths in nursing school four years back. Since then, she has been longing for a dog, while he kept coming up with reasons to delay their pet ownership, like finishing college, securing a nursing job, and buying a house. This past year has been particularly challenging for them due to work pressures from COVID. Therefore, during the quarantine, he decided to plan a birthday surprise to lift her spirits. He took the opportunity to look for breeders of her beloved dog breed, the goldendoodle. On her birthday, she believed he and a few friends were taking her kayaking to see manatees at a natural spring in Florida. However, he arranged to meet the breeder halfway at a grocery store, claiming they were just stopping for snacks and drinks. Unbeknownst to her, she was about to receive the little companion she had wished for for years, an 8-week-old goldendoodle. Her emotional response was priceless, as she cried tears of joy all the way home.
