00:00Mr. President, why has today's executive order on AI been postponed?
00:04Because I didn't like certain aspects of it.
00:07I postponed it.
00:09I think it gets in the way of, you know, we're leading China, we're leading everybody,
00:13and I don't want to do anything that's going to get in the way of that lead.
00:17We have a very substantial on AI.
00:19It's causing tremendous good, and it's also bringing in a lot of jobs, tremendous numbers of jobs.
00:27Again, we have more people working right now than we've ever had.
00:30I really thought that could have been a blocker, and I want to make sure that it's known.
00:34Mr. President, you're a part of the President.
00:36Mr. President, with President Xi last week, did you discuss AI safeguards?
00:40Who, what?
00:42In China last week, with President Xi, did you discuss AI safeguards?
00:46I did. I discussed it.
00:47And he acknowledges how well we're doing.
00:51We're doing well.
00:51He said, it was the two of us, the two countries are fighting for it.
00:55Other countries are way behind, way, way behind.
00:59They're fighting for it.
01:00They want it.
01:00Everybody wants it, but they're way behind.
01:02But I didn't want to do it.
01:04I postponed that meeting.
01:05It was a press conference.
01:06It was a signing, actually, because I didn't like what I was seeing.
