00:00It's a German team with an average age of over 30 on a day when the temperatures in Montpellier must
00:06be over 30 degrees.
00:08Whether that will be a factor in the outcome remains to be seen.
00:11It was to be the line-up which started the second half against Iran here last Thursday
00:15when No. 16 Dietmar Harmon came on in place of Olaf Thun.
00:19But Jürgen Kohler is a late withdrawal with a foot injury.
00:23So Marcus Babel, who's been strongly linked with Newcastle lately, comes in.
00:27Olaf Thun is left out. Andreas Muller has reportedly fallen out with Jürgen Klinsmann.
00:32And German newspapers are linking Muller now with Chelsea and Liverpool.
00:37Mexico, for their part, have made four changes despite their heroics against Holland.
00:42Only one of them enforced by suspension to their clever left-footed midfield player, Ramon Ramirez.
00:48No. 17 Francisco Palencia is an extra forward to support the two familiar frontmen,
00:53and then the blonde-haired Luis Hernandez, and the blonde-booted bouncer Cotemoc Blanco.
01:02Referee is from Portugal today.
01:05He's the man who had charge of Jamaica's game with Argentina in longs a fortnight ago.
01:09It seems a long, long time since Robbie Earl blasted that header into the Argentine goal.
01:14Two of the best four teams in world football. That's the official view.
01:20FIFA's unfathomable world rankings place Germany second behind Brazil coming into the tournament,
01:26whilst Mexico occupied fourth spot.
01:29Maybe we'll find out why this afternoon.
01:33Ron Atkinson is basking in the sunshine alongside me.
01:36Do you fancy the Mexicans or not, Ron?
01:37I fancy them more than I thought I would have done at the start of the tournament.
01:40If you'd have said this was going to be the scenario today, I'd have said it's a certain German victory.
01:44But it's hot, as the lads in the interior have been seen.
01:48Here's Bierhoff trying to set up Klinsmann early on.
01:55And this is a senior German team by any stretch of the imagination.
01:59Three players in it with more than 100 cats.
02:03And more than half of them have passed their 30th birthdays.
02:06Just to hark back to Mexico quickly, Clive.
02:09I saw them quite a bit in Orlando in 94.
02:12And they played in heat, certainly above this, and maybe more humid.
02:15And I'll tell you what, Jack Charlton's team will know how they could cope with it.
02:21Here goes Blanco running with Christian Burns.
02:28There's that familiar trick, which he treated us to for the first time against South Korea on ITV.
02:34A couple of Saturdays back where he holds the ball between his two insteps
02:39and tries to pogo his way into the opponent's penalty area.
02:42He's got to come out with something better than that now.
02:43That's got boring now.
02:44We've seen that twice.
02:47Blanco bounce.
02:50Thomas Helmer for Germany.
02:51This is Michael Tarnak.
02:55There's been trying to lay clay into it.
02:57Garcia Aspect rolling the ball into the path of Villa.
03:00Now Blanco.
03:04Villa being pursued out there by Verne.
03:11Verne seems to be following Blanco.
03:16Here they are together again.
03:19Babel has picked up Hernandez.
03:23Clive, I think what they're doing.
03:25Where we expected Polencia to play right behind the front two.
03:28He's actually going to play wide on the right, I think, in support from the right.
03:31That looks as if it will give Blanco the chance to move out and occupy the left-hand side.
03:35As you said, a very positive step.
03:37Three up front and it can stretch the back line.
03:40We'll be interested to see how the Germans cope.
03:42Whether they keep their full-backs back on that particular side.
03:45Whether they take a risk and just play three against three.
03:47But Dovino and Suarez are forward from the back here.
03:51Dovino goes in.
03:52Hit it away.
03:53In the nick of time by Babel.
03:57Verne still hasn't cleared the ball.
03:59Needed some help from Lota Mateus.
04:01Who now sweeps the ball forward towards Jürgen Klinsmann.
04:04Only Hessler ahead of him.
04:09Harman.
04:10Look at this break from the back.
04:15I don't think we saw Harman get that far forward in the hole of the second half when he came
04:20on, did he?
04:21Heinrich of Borussia Dortmund.
04:24Traditionally the two dominant clubs in German football.
04:26Although they haven't been having it all their own way the last couple of seasons.
04:32Oliver Bierhoff who plays his club football in Italy.
04:36Into Jürgen Heinrich.
04:39Oh he snatched it down a little bit.
04:43He's a very well balanced two-footed player Jürgen Heinrich.
04:46Equally comfortable right or left.
04:48And would have expected to do a lot better than that.
04:51Excellent work there from Bierhoff.
04:52Turns it into his run.
04:54As you say, a fairly reasonable chance.
04:55Note the defender there challenging you with his hand behind the back.
04:58To try and eliminate the chance of a penalty.
05:00A ball going to his hand and giving penalties away.
05:08Garcia Aspe.
05:13Bernal.
05:17Blanco.
05:19Couldn't quite link it with Calencia.
05:23Bernal.
05:24Well struck.
05:25Oh, Kyrbke's lost it.
05:27And fortunately for him, Marcus Babel reacted.
05:30Andreas Kyrbke had a terrible moment there.
05:33You may remember his blunder for the second goal in the Yugoslavia match.
05:38Here's Blanco again.
05:42Lucky, lucky, lucky goalkeeper.
05:53You know, I was reading an article this morning by Roberto Carlos about why he's not scored so many free
05:57kicks in this tournament.
05:59And he was talking about the new ball, how light it is and so forth.
06:03And I think that may be a little bit conducive to the sort of thing that happened there.
06:07It was Bernal, wasn't he?
06:07He had a hell of a shot.
06:10That's the earlier incident.
06:12It's a hell of a shot.
06:13And there we are now.
06:15Bang.
06:16He's down the line.
06:16He's doing things through the air.
06:17And in all fairness, he'd even got a lovely little bounce in front.
06:20And Holland in Milan in 1990 mentioned to Rudi Volo.
06:24It just reminds me, he and Frank Reichard exchanged saliva samples that day and were sent off.
06:32Germany wanted two on Klinsmann, got a goal.
06:34Here is Klinsmann, trying to feed off Beerhoff.
06:36Chance for Jürgen Klinsmann.
06:37Kappos just got there ahead of him.
06:40He's a very mobile goalkeeper, as I suppose he has to be for such a small keeper.
06:44And he was very alert then.
06:46He had to be.
06:46That was brilliant keeping.
06:48Great piece of awareness by Beerhoff, though.
06:50As the ball was coming out of the air, he's actually taking a look.
06:53Seen Klinsmann completely for him.
06:55Knocked it into his run.
06:56And to be fair to Jürgen Klinsmann, he won't be too happy with his first touch on that one.
07:05The third tackle that by Harman.
07:08Here he is on the ball again.
07:09It's lost it now to Bernal.
07:11And Hernandez going on.
07:12Harman's got it back.
07:13Got the ball again.
07:14Referee very close.
07:15And then he's penalised Palencia.
07:18And he's bid to get it back from Harman.
07:20Strong play from the Bayern Munich midfield player.
07:29Good chance.
07:30I mean, good awareness, that.
07:32I mean, the defence is all over the place.
07:34But he's come and done the job of the sweeper there, Kampos.
07:38Brave.
07:38I mean, Klinsmann hasn't pulled out of that one at all.
07:40And he's gone brave, the goalie.
07:42Klinsmann actually gave him a little acknowledgement.
07:44Matthäus.
07:46And a 1-2 with Beerhoff.
07:47First time we've really seen Lode Matthäus cross the halfway line.
07:50It very nearly resulted in a goal for Germany.
07:52Yeah, but it's just smooth.
07:53I mean, we've just seen the end shot there, which isn't a particularly good.
07:56And then stopped himself.
07:58Hesler, though.
08:00Picking up the baton and finding Tana.
08:03In towards Klinsmann.
08:05That's a beautiful cross.
08:06Good position to put the ball in for.
08:08Doesn't get closed down by Bernal.
08:10Good, good cross.
08:11I would have expected one of the strikers to be going in on that.
08:13This is Lode Matthäus.
08:15In towards Klinsmann.
08:16It's got space.
08:18Well, he directed the header well.
08:20But he took a lot of the pace off it.
08:22It came to him pretty straight from Matthäus.
08:24He had to really twist those neck muscles to try and get some power behind it.
08:29It was a pretty comfortable save for Jorge Kampos.
08:32Yeah, I mean, he couldn't have done much more there.
08:36Helped into the path of Heinrich.
08:41In towards Klinsmann.
08:43Couldn't quite wrap his head around the ball.
08:47Making it difficult for Suarez.
08:49But Garcia-Aspé got it clear.
08:50And here goes Blanco.
08:53And off the ball by Verne.
08:54Yeah, Blanco isn't at it at all.
08:57First minute or two.
08:58He looks as if he got a...
09:00Tana.
09:00In the beer hop.
09:01Pretty well straight there.
09:02Came behind him.
09:03He had a swing at it.
09:08Yeah, he's done well here.
09:09Because that's another great cross from Tana.
09:10Behind all the front players moving in.
09:13But Bierhoff's nearly got him right out of prison with him.
09:17Good acrobatics.
09:18Good agility.
09:19He looks such an ordinary player to me, Bierhoff.
09:28Harman.
09:30Klinsmann back to Harman.
09:33But a good first half, Dietmar, Harman.
09:37Oh, well hit that.
09:39By Michael Tana.
09:41The flag is up, presumably against Bierhoff, following in.
09:45Good strike, though, from the left foot of Michael Tana.
09:50Yes, Scream.
09:51That's a good save from the keeper as well.
09:55I think he would have had a talking point if he'd scored there, by the way, with Bierhoff.
09:59I mean, the decision has surely got to be whether he's interfering with players again.
10:03That old chess nut.
10:05They were beaten 6-0 in Cordova during the 1978 finals.
10:11And then at the last meeting, also in blistering heat in Monterey, quarterfinal of the 86 World Cup.
10:18Beaten on penalties.
10:21Yes, luck.
10:22And that for Bierhoff.
10:23Oh, looked at an easy chance for him, but it hit the other side of the bar.
10:26Matthias is there.
10:28Oh, that looked right up Oliver Bierhoff's streak.
10:32I think he almost took for granted the fact that he'd notched for the third time in the tournament.
10:37That he hadn't.
10:43First real contribution.
10:44That's a lovely ball from Klinsmann into little man's run, little hassler.
10:48Great stood up.
10:49Stood it over to keeper.
10:50There you are.
10:50I'm turning around to shake hands with everybody.
10:52No, I'm not.
10:55And he was looking around his sparingly in the hope that somebody else was going to get him off the
10:59hook.
11:00Somebody from another player was going to try and knock it in for him.
11:03Is there anybody else in the tournament you'd rather have on the end of that cross?
11:07Well, he said he didn't bounce over the line.
11:13I haven't got a Russian linesman today either.
11:17Hernandez into this.
11:19Palencia now with a real chance for Mexico.
11:21And Gordon Saeed by the leg of Kerb Kerb.
11:24Real chance though for Palencia.
11:28Bernal.
11:30Mexico have lost the ball.
11:32Francisco Palencia has lost a real opportunity.
11:35To put the Germans behind.
11:37Instead it's Klinsmann trying to break in behind Davino.
11:41This half is coming to an end just at a time when it's really caught fire.
11:45Yeah, that's a great contribution from Hernandez.
11:48And he's clean in the water.
11:49You have to give the keeper full marks for that.
11:51He's stood up.
11:52He's made himself big.
11:53He hasn't really banged it at all.
11:55You'd have thought maybe Palencia might have gone with his left side there.
12:01Babel is forward for this.
12:03As is Christian Ziga.
12:05Oliver will reach it.
12:16Half-time in Montpellier.
12:18Two good chances.
12:19We had to wait a long time for them.
12:21Oliver Bierhoff had the best of them.
12:22Fired ahead against the crossbar.
12:24A couple of minutes later.
12:26Palencia.
12:27Francisco Palencia.
12:28The Mexican got cleaned through on Andreas Kürpke.
12:31It's been pretty close.
12:32Germany maybe just edged it.
12:33But haven't had enough of an advantage for it to show on the score sheet.
12:37We'll be with Alex Ferguson.
12:39Bob Wilson and Barry Venison after this break.
12:42Seven of them out of work now.
12:46It's Mexico in the green shirts for a restart.
12:54Three qualifiers from Central and North America now.
12:56A permanent feature of the structure of World Cup football.
12:59So Mexico will keep on coming back.
13:03Here's Palencia.
13:04We've got what is a football nation.
13:0694 million people.
13:07World Cup stadia.
13:08Financed to attract foreign imports.
13:12They've never really been able to make an impact.
13:14Certainly outside of their own backyard.
13:16Twice quarter finalists.
13:17Both times when the World Cup was in Mexico.
13:20There is Salvador Carmona.
13:23I think he should have got bugs early on.
13:24But certainly it's had a decided effect on this fellow with the ball.
13:30There is Blanca.
13:31And here's Hernandez.
13:32And he's down his way into a scoring position.
13:34And he has scored.
13:39Luis Hernandez for Mexico.
13:43Germany are behind.
13:48Goal number four for the blonde-haired hero of this Mexican World Cup challenge.
13:56Now we're going to find out what Germany are made of.
13:59Well it's one foul, two money.
14:01It's led to it to start with by Verne.
14:04Blanca worked his way into the back.
14:06Nicked a little ball into the scorer here.
14:07Hernandez.
14:08Who actually goes past defenders almost as Verne's getting back in there.
14:12Nobody's agile enough.
14:14He's gone past Tarnett quite comfortably.
14:16And he stood it into the keeper.
14:18Passed the keeper very, very well.
14:20But I mean the Germans defended like statues there.
14:24Well there were four minutes of stoppage time gone when he got the equaliser against Holland.
14:31Which secured Mexico their place in the second round of the World Cup Finals.
14:35And now he has given Mexico the lead against Germany.
14:41We know the Germans can come back.
14:43We've seen it over and over again.
14:44We've seen it quite recently against Yugoslavia in this tournament.
14:47From two down.
14:49But they haven't played especially well today.
14:56And now Mexico have an advantage.
15:05Garcia Aspe is going to take this free kick.
15:12Still rising.
15:13Yeah wasted.
15:15I mean bearing in mind what sort of a tournament Kürbke's had.
15:18Really you should try to get everyone on target and look for him to spill something.
15:22He spilled that many in the tournament.
15:24But here's the goal again.
15:25Little nudged in ball.
15:26He could have laid this off actually.
15:27The blank.
15:28I thought he may have wasted the chance.
15:30But he's seen the two defenders off.
15:31And he's took it very, very cool.
15:33He's certainly a better player in that sort of area.
15:35In the top area than he is when he's having to.
15:40I think he's so close to the wind an awful lot today.
15:43I know he likes marking.
15:44I know he likes making contact with players.
15:45But certainly in the climate of this.
15:48Miller to Bierhoff.
15:51Nice little link there.
15:54Got a pretty meaty strike on the ball Bierhoff.
15:57But wide of the mark.
15:58Some good play.
15:59Some good combination player.
16:00Good turn by Bierhoff.
16:03Fortunately shot's not on target.
16:04But that's still a decent effort.
16:07Blanco.
16:08Caught late by Verne's again.
16:12Marcus Babel.
16:15Picked off.
16:16It's Arroyano the substitute.
16:18He's got Hernandez in support.
16:20Arroyano might go all the way himself.
16:22He's got his shot in.
16:23Kev can turn it against the goal post.
16:25Still a chance for Blanco.
16:26Hernandez.
16:27Flags up.
16:28No it's not.
16:33What a chance.
16:34He was onside.
16:37Well that's a magnificent run.
16:38But I'll tell you what.
16:40Kopker's had his critics.
16:41He's had a bad tournament.
16:42He's kept his team in the game there.
16:44With that little flip onto the post.
16:47Ziga.
16:49Harman.
16:52Give it away.
16:54Well the previous attack.
16:55When Arroyano got through.
16:57Was started by a bad ball from Babel.
16:59Babel he's just done it again.
17:01Keeping the ball away cheaply.
17:05Mexico have a play down in the German penalty area.
17:07They want the play stopped.
17:08Campos has it in his hands.
17:09Now he can stop it.
17:10Klinsmann felt that he was bolted in the penalty area.
17:13It's all happening.
17:14But not much of it is happening for Germany.
17:18Arroyano who was hurt when he got in that shot.
17:20Good run wasn't it.
17:21Searing run.
17:22I tell you who's done ever so well for him there though.
17:24Hernandez by taking the cover off with his overlap run.
17:26But that's a good block.
17:28I just wondered there when he got his shot in Hernandez.
17:32Suarez running into trouble in the shape of Lothar Matthias.
17:37Ziga to Andreas Muller.
17:40Now Dietmar Harman.
17:41Oliver Bierhoff.
17:43Oh he's had another great headed opportunity there.
17:46And he's missed the target again.
17:48It's just not happening for Germany.
17:50But this is a German feature.
17:52Good strong run.
17:55Who's in all being the leading scorer in Germany on three occasions.
18:03Former East German international.
18:07Sometimes it's very difficult Clive to get your balance when you go with three strikers.
18:11Particularly if one of them doesn't like to go wide naturally.
18:14We've got Klinsmann, Bierhoff and Kirsten on the field now.
18:20All or nothing for Germany.
18:22Harman on the ball.
18:24Swung in towards Bierhoff.
18:25Found a way through.
18:26It's Klinsmann.
18:29Germany in crisis.
18:30Call for Jürgen Klinsmann.
18:33He's equalised with 16 minutes left to play.
18:36He may still lift the World Cup in two weeks time.
18:40That's what he's got his eyes on.
18:41That's what he came for.
18:50Well, it's predictable, but it's a good ball into the box.
18:54Little eyebrows there.
18:56The offender gets a bad ricochet.
18:57Little eyebrows there from Bierhoff.
18:59And there he is.
19:00The predator.
19:01Bang.
19:03What a marvellous substitution.
19:08Now who wins the run?
19:09We've got a run.
19:11Well, that's unlucky for Bierhoff.
19:13It's skimmed over.
19:14I think Bierhoff's just got a nick on it to get it into him.
19:16But you don't give that man any sort of a chance.
19:20And to underline that, two landmarks for Jürgen Klinsmann.
19:24His 47th goal for Germany.
19:26He's drawn level with Rudi Fuller.
19:27And now only Gert Muller has scored more goals for West Germany.
19:31And now the United Germany.
19:33Than Jürgen Klinsmann.
19:36Garcia Aspe on the ball.
19:39And again.
19:41Trying to feed Villa the other landmark for Klinsmann.
19:44That's his 11th goal in World Cup Finals.
19:46Football.
19:47And now only three men.
19:48Pelé.
19:49Just Fontaine.
19:50And Gert Muller himself.
19:52Have scored more goals at the World Cup Finals.
19:54Than Jürgen Klinsmann.
19:57And he's only three behind Muller.
19:59The leader in that department.
20:02I wonder if he can get those in the next couple of weeks.
20:05They're not out of the fire.
20:07I'm not out of the mire here yet.
20:11But you sense that the bounds of this match swung with that Klinsmann goal.
20:17And how many will say what a marvellous substitution that was?
20:24He's been on the field.
20:25Five seconds hadn't he Kirsten when the goal went in.
20:40Into the path of Lota Mateus.
20:44Back out to Tarnad again.
20:50Crossed to Ulf Kirsten.
20:51Good control from him.
20:53Popped in towards Bierhoff with a header.
20:56It's Oliver Bierhoff.
20:57For Germany.
20:59Inside the last five minutes.
21:02That looks like the goal.
21:04Which takes Germany into the quarter finals.
21:06From the man who won the European Championships for them.
21:11And Klinsmann and Bierhoff.
21:15The combination that 30 votes favours.
21:18Is the combination that's come up with the vital goals.
21:21Well they've let them cross it.
21:22They've extended deep.
21:23But that's a good hit.
21:24I just had a little feeling that the goalkeeper's reacted very slowly to it.
21:29Just had a feeling that Kampos has had a smashing game.
21:32Doesn't start to get on his way until the ball's virtually past him.
21:36Where he's been alive.
21:37He's done well to get first to the ball there.
21:41Just about nixing from the Lara.
21:43Good strike.
21:45He's had three attempts at goals with his head.
21:48Very close with a couple of them.
21:50That one goes in.
21:51I just wonder there about Kampos.
21:57Well it's difficult to generalise about football.
21:59By the way.
22:00But somehow you sense that when Germany find themselves in a tight corner.
22:05They have got a better chance than most of getting out of it.
22:08Further evidence my lord.
22:10They were a goal down.
22:12Entering the last 15 minutes.
22:15Jürgen Klinsmann equalised.
22:16Oliver Bierhoff with five minutes left to play.
22:19Has given them a 2-1 lead.
22:21They've done it again.
22:25Rather optimistic appeals for a penalty as Verne's lent on Blanco.
22:29During that stoppage the Mexicans brought on Ricardo Pala-Es.
22:34Yellow card for Blanco for diving incidentally.
22:44Colmona's free kick.
22:45In towards Pala-Es.
22:46Oh Kampos lost it.
22:47Shot by Blanco.
22:49Might still hang for Arroyano.
22:51Kepka's got back on his line now.
22:53Hit by Blanco.
22:55Enandes is there.
22:55And he was straight at Kepka.
22:58Enandes and Pala-Es went for the same ball.
23:01Kepka has got away with it again.
23:04Well they say if you can't be good be lucky.
23:05And there's nobody lucky in this keeper in the competition at the moment.
23:08He hasn't looked a goalkeeper.
23:10He gets himself into trouble in the first place.
23:12Should have got punished.
23:13And all of a sudden the ball from Enandes just plopped into his hand.
23:17Kepka has said he will retire from international football after the finals.
23:20It may not be his decision.
23:22There's a lot of people who would think he should do before the way he's played.
23:25But he's getting away with it.
23:27As indeed are Germany.
23:29He perhaps typifies Germany.
23:30He punched a lot during Euro 96.
23:33He hasn't caught very much during these World Cup finals.
23:39Talk about brinksmanship.
23:42They've been right on the edge of a catastrophe by their standards today Germany.
23:51You still have to believe that Mexico are, despite their FIFA ranking,
23:55second division at this level.
23:59I think the first division team might just have put Germany out today.
24:05They're through.
24:07Saturday night in Lyon.
24:10If there's a tournament on, Germany will be there.
24:13They will face the winners of tomorrow afternoon's second round match in Bordeaux between Romania and Croatia.
24:19Thanks to the goals of the man at the bottom, Oliver Bierhoff.
24:22And the man who was on the top there, Jürgen Klinsmann.
24:25Klinsmann really the vital goal.
24:27The equaliser.
24:28With 16 minutes to spare.
24:30Bierhoff, the goal which made extra time unnecessary.
24:34And a golden goal maybe for him unnecessary.
24:36With four minutes left to play.
24:38It may not be the best German team of all time.
24:41But it's a German team which stays in the World Cup finals.
24:45On the go.
24:55I can't believe I sold that ass hearing wheel.
25:04Welcome back to Montpellier where we've witnessed a quite sensational game.
25:08Mexico taking the lead against mighty Germany.
25:10Only to be overhauled by the strike force of Klinsmann and Bierhoff.
25:13Yeah, Germany have taken over from Mexico as the comeback kings.
25:162-1 winners and in pretty dramatic style.
25:19Now they'll now meet Romania or Croatia in the last eight.
25:23And those two play tomorrow afternoon in Bordeaux.
25:27Well, Alex, we said very early on, never write them off.
25:30We can't.
25:31They've also been fed the history books.
25:33And they see the pride and determination when they go a goal down.
25:36We've seen it so many times.
25:37And once again, it's been very level-instated.
25:41Mexico scored a terrific goal, which looked to have won it.
25:44Oh, the great goal, Hernandez, who had a quiet game.
25:47The ball comes into the box here eventually to him.
25:50And what he does very well, he wriggles around, he wriggles around Tarnat here.
25:54Gets turned, gets faced up.
25:56He can't get back in and he finishes off really well.
25:58There was a long team to go.
26:00Possibly that was too early in the game in West Germany.
26:03So you've got a lot of fight in them.
26:04There was a turning point, a real turning point, Alex, with a double save by Kopka, who'd looked a bit
26:10shaky.
26:10Absolutely.
26:11And the substitute, Aramano, comes through.
26:14And it seems to take a deflection or a back pass from Matthias.
26:17His suppose comes out.
26:19Now, this is a turning point.
26:21Wanko squares it to Hernandez.
26:23And then he's too casual.
26:25What an opportunity.
26:26He'll be regretting that for the rest of his life.
26:28That could have been 2-0.
26:30Suddenly the captain came into it.
26:32Klinsman yet again.
26:33He's blessed, isn't he?
26:35It's not the best ball.
26:37It's a ball in and Laura has a nightmare.
26:38Gets between his feet.
26:40And there's Klinsman just to slaughter it.
26:41And he can't believe he's low.
26:42And Alex, this is a great header.
26:44It's a great header.
26:45Just a set of a beat off.
26:46It's so important to him.
26:47But he should have had a high-trick today.
26:49But that goal will make up for everything.
26:51Marvellous goal.
26:51All credit in this heat to this.
26:54You have to say that about the goal.
26:56The fitness levels of these boys are tremendous.
26:57You don't realise.
26:58You don't realise when you're sitting here.
27:00You don't realise when you're sitting here.
27:01How hard it is and how physically demanding it is.
27:03Just the sheer loss of sweat.
27:06Mexico, Alex.
27:07I mean, they did really well.
27:08They did well.
27:09And when they scored, I think they made a mistake of going back towards the edge of the box.
27:13Which then allowed the Germans to cross the ball in.
27:15And if you do that against Klinsman and Bierhoff, you're going to lose a goal.
27:18And that's just a pity for them because they've played so well.
27:21We've enjoyed ourselves, haven't we?
27:23Yeah, it's been a good game.
27:23Despite the heat here this afternoon.
27:25Yeah, it's good.
