00:00Let's get some more on the Samsung story, though.
00:02Our senior technology reporter, Yulim Lee, joins us now from Seoul.
00:05So it is a broad sigh of relief, and you can see that exuberance in Samsung's stock price and the
00:11cost be more broadly.
00:15That's right.
00:17So until yesterday, it looked like the union was heading for a potentially disastrous strike.
00:24But through late night negotiations between the two parties, and this was presided by the labor minister, there has been
00:36a dramatic turnaround, just basically 90 minutes before the clock hits midnight, and the union was headed for the strike.
00:46So this is a really, really huge relief for investors, because the risk of this potential strike has been kind
00:56of weighing on the stock and obviously the company and everybody for several months.
01:02So from now on, I think what we can expect is that labor union are going to, the members are
01:10going to vote on this new proposal that the two parties have come to an agreement.
01:14And they will vote on this package starting tomorrow through the 27th of May.
01:23So if they, if a majority of the members approve this, then, you know, everything is called off.
01:32But if, you know, they don't, then there's still a potential, you know, risk of them going on a strike.
