Carnival has a way of making everyday objects feel briefly at home in the spotlight.
In Arteixo, parade-goers walk in costume with their heads concealed, carrying lamp fixtures positioned where their heads would normally be.
The filmer, Aaron, told WooGlobe, "It was Carnival Tuesday, and while watching the parade and some lamppost costumes, I remembered the legendary José Mota video about the lamp post."
They move along the street in a group, the lamp shapes and posts forming a line of walking streetlights.
The simple illusion lands on sight, turning a familiar piece of street furniture into a moving part of the procession. It’s an offbeat detail that fits neatly into the day’s playful visual logic.
