00:00Have you surprised yourself? Do you have to pinch yourself sometimes? Do you keep looking at the ERA
00:04leader chart or do you believe that this is really going on? Yeah, again, like I'm confident in myself.
00:09I'm confident in the guys behind me. I'm confident in this organization. So I expect myself to perform
00:13at the highest level. I specifically don't care too much about ERA. You know, it's a misleading
00:18stat that can get blown out of proportion. You know, there's a lot of guys with higher ERAs that
00:22probably shouldn't have higher ERAs and guys with, you know, lower ERAs that should maybe have higher
00:27ones. So, you know, we don't, as an organization, the ERA isn't probably the biggest stat in terms
00:31of looking at success. Now, is it pretty to see that low number? Yeah, definitely. It's definitely
00:36a good feeling. The fact that my underlying metrics, you know, back up that ERA is probably more
00:41important. Dig into that a little more for us. What do you look at that matters to you and to
00:46know that you're on the right course? Obviously, you know, you're trying to get quality starts,
00:50right? Now you're going to look at your game results and sometimes, you know, it might be
00:54misleading. You know, sometimes you're going to let up, you know, a lot of weak contact hits and
00:58your stat line is not going to look so good. And then sometimes you're going to have a really good
01:01stat line, but the underlining metrics aren't so good. So, you know, in terms of what I'm looking
01:05at, you know, it's going to be, you know, your K percentage, your walk percentage, your contact
01:08quality, again, limiting damage and getting missing zone is important to me. And at the end of the day,
01:14you know, if you're going six innings, getting a quality start, putting your team in the position
01:17at the end of the day, the results are really all that matters. So, but confidently, you know,
01:21when I look at my starts and I have meetings after my starts and, you know, we look at the
01:25numbers and,
01:26you know, how my stuff is performing compared to other guys that, you know, I'm confident
01:29that I'm in a good position right now.
