00:00It's for the undisputed British Cruiserweight Championship.
00:06Please welcome the wrestlers to the ring.
00:12Andy, this is going to be a dandy.
00:15Absolutely, it's going to be so good.
00:17The undisputed British Cruiserweight Championship on the line.
00:20And this one's really interesting to say the least.
00:23The British J Cup winner versus the British Cruiserweight Champion.
00:26It's not very often the champion goes into a contest.
00:29The underdog.
00:30But I think in this one, it can be argued that this is the case.
00:34And that is a very decorated champion.
00:36A champion who's the longest reigning British Cruiserweight Champion of all time.
00:40With the most defences, yet still hits the underdog.
00:42And that eats him up inside.
00:44As there you see the challenger, speedball Mike Bailey, making his way to the ring.
00:48And Rob, excuse me for saying this, speedball looking very confident.
00:53Andy, for what we've seen of speedball Mike Bailey, as of late,
00:58and I don't mean this lightly, arguably one of the most in-form wrestlers in the world.
01:05Like, the guy is on another level.
01:07And I hate to steal that from someone else, but Mike Bailey, he's just different at the moment.
01:14And though we started to see a bit more of an aggressive edge to speedball, large side in Huntington.
01:23And I'm telling you, he's going to need all the aggression in the world to get past Michael Oku.
01:28He's a man that took the undisputed British Heavyweight Champion, Will Ospreay, to the absolute limit.
01:48Always respectful, a handshake.
01:50Until that bell rings.
01:52Well, absolutely, yeah.
01:52Until that bell rings.
02:01It's an interesting time for this man, Rob.
02:03Right now, isn't it?
02:08Where does he put his attention?
02:11So you see him being accompanied to the ring by true grit, Connor Mills.
02:23And Michael Oku, a former one-half of the British Tag Team Champions, suffering from the heartbreak of losing those
02:31championships alongside his best friend, Connor Mills.
02:34And then we said time and time again about Mills being a history maker, about Oku being a history maker.
02:41He wanted the repeat.
02:43He wanted to be the first man to become a two-time British J-Cup winner.
02:48The first man to win that cup back-to-back, but it wasn't to be.
02:53It was heartbreaking for Michael Oku.
02:55And now he finds himself in the position as champion for Underdog, going against speedball Mike Bailey in a contest
03:03that he feels is must win.
03:05But to add some spice to that, it was speedball Mike Bailey who was able to defeat and pin Michael
03:12Oku in that British J-Cup Finals.
03:15So, Michael Oku knows in the back of his mind that speedball Mike Bailey can beat him.
03:22How's that going to play on your side here?
03:25Andy, we know you said earlier that he always feels like he goes into the matches as the underdog, right?
03:30I actually think that plays into Michael Oku's favour because it makes him perform.
03:36It makes him step up.
03:38And when he goes into something and he's not necessarily the underdog, I don't necessarily think he's at his best.
03:45This, for me, is when he's at his best.
03:48When he is the guy fighting from underneath.
03:58He's looking focused and determined, isn't he?
04:03So, being the underdog is what suits this man.
04:34The following contest is a singles match with a 60-meter champion.
04:38It's a 60-minute time limit scheduled for one fall.
04:41One fall.
04:42And it is for the undisputed British Cruiserweight Championship.
04:50Introducing first the challenger from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
04:55He is your 2021 British J-Cup winner.
05:01Speedball Mike Bailey.
05:18And introducing the current undisputed British Cruiserweight Champion.
05:26Representing destination everywhere.
05:29Accompanied by his tag team partner, Conor Mills.
05:33Michael Oku!
05:45See the way Oku looked at the title there.
05:48There's a bit of fear in Michael Oku.
05:54We know this boy is as confident as they come in his abilities.
05:57But he looked at that title then, almost, there was a little glance.
06:01Almost as if there's a bit of doubt in his mind.
06:08As you see, referee Oscar Harding raising that undisputed British Cruiserweight Championship in the air.
06:15That's what it's all about.
06:16Thank you so much for joining us.
06:57there's a handshake and there's a sign of respect and that's what I like to see
07:01and you wonder what they're saying to each other right now don't you
07:05Bailey's probably saying I'm going to shake your hand and then I'm going to kick your head off
07:08he's probably saying it in the sweetest voice possible
07:10and look at this speedball Mike Bailey brain buster
07:14what a combination from the challenger and this is exactly why Michael Oku's an underdog
07:23as I say Andy for me Oku is at his best when he is the underdog and look at this
07:29he's coming back
07:30swinging it's what makes him turn up absolutely the motivation of proving people wrong the motivation
07:37of making history as now speedball Mike Bailey and Michael Oku exchanging there is nothing wrong
07:44with being the underdog it means that every time you go out there you've got incentive to prove
07:49everybody wrong yeah you remain hungry don't you exactly no complacency
07:55maybe there was a bit of complacency there they say as you start to make money it gets a little
07:58bit harder it hurts a little bit more when you get punched in the face doesn't it
08:06and Michael Oku however is remaining hungry remaining focus
08:12hurricanrana follows up in combination with a drop kick and the champion is rocking
08:16there was a real concern that he was going to get smoked early he wasn't there in those first few
08:22seconds
08:23absolutely well like I say Mike Bailey he's different to the to the old Mike Bailey
08:29well hang on look speedball kicks Oku away and look at that wow nice almost monkey flip without
08:34use of the arms here from speedball Mike Bailey sidesteps Oku watch out speedball Mike Bailey
08:39flies through the sky Michael Oku didn't get a chance to take a breath before speedball just dove out
08:47and nailed here trademark speedball Mike Bailey no one does that dive better than him
08:56makes it look easy
09:15I don't think he's holding his hand because he's going to shake it again
09:21these two now why are they coming up here
09:24this is again it's already been demonstrated how dangerous his ramp is
09:30but speedball Mike Bailey doesn't want to use it for that he wants to use it for a run-up
09:34doesn't he
09:35he's giving everyone a bit of a bad view
09:38PK
09:40wow if speedball play for England he might be European champions right now
09:45oh my god holy you know what oh my god and look at that and now Oku has grab applied
09:55he can't win the match out here it's people tapping out on the ramp but Mike and Oku can't
10:01win the match from there you can do enough damage though and he's done a hell of a lot
10:07of damage do you see the way those knees just driven down into that steel deck ramp
10:15and that was all speedball's own doing wasn't it and Mike and Oku just so happened to have the
10:21presence of mind to capitalize and connect with that half crap and if he can do that safely again
10:26but in the middle of the ring this contest is over and we'll be saying and still
10:33Oku catching his breath from the early early attack from Mike Bailey
10:40and Mike Bailey obviously those those double knees he uses them for so many different situations in
10:46matches this could play right into Oku's hands absolutely it could look at this Michael Oku
10:52recognizes the trouble speedball's in speedball also recognizes that trouble and reaches to the
10:57bottom row and again kicking Oku away he's favoring that leg now you take away that leg you take away
11:03those kicks but speedball said I'll kick with the other leg but you kick with the other leg it's hard
11:07to base with that oh my god oh my god I think we're even now
11:12no wow now they definitely are and Mike Bailey Mike Bailey gonna take a second to try and recover from
11:19that
11:20Michael Oku threw everything into that drop kick a sweet side step from speedball and it wiped out the
11:29undisputed british cruiserweight champion neck first down to the canvas
11:37well Mike Bailey no messing around now
11:42and a big chop across the chest and I wonder just how that's gonna vary up the offense
11:50of speedball Mike Bailey he uses his feet his knees for so much of what he does
12:01see there you go there it is
12:09and again speedball Mike Bailey he does not care if he has to ruffle some feathers
12:17but again this crowd from the sand they're split straight down the middle
12:30and you notice the sound of that crowd is gonna fire up Michael Oku
12:35it's gonna wake him up and you saw when Michael Oku um came back took in front of fans the
12:41first time
12:42the tears streaming down his cheeks that's how much these fans mean to him that's how much the
12:46roar of this crowd means to him and now Michael Oku gonna need all the help he can get as
12:51he's looking
12:51to step into that hurrican rana but he literally wow driven down into the knees of speedball Mike Bailey
13:01and look you saw a poker face for a second didn't you but you know it's all
13:05I'll tell you what but he did it onto the it's onto the top part of his knees which
13:09yeah again he landed shin a jar in motion though yeah
13:18and now he manages to follow up in combination with both he's gonna look for that shooting star
13:23corkscrew oh he missed again and this is what Michael Oku is doing such an excellent job thus far
13:28in this contest of doing sticking and moving and look at that for some serious serious hang time
13:46let's not forget the cruiserweight championship is on the line I'm sure Francesco Akira will be
13:51watching this contest closely but right now all speedball and Oku can do is focus on one another
13:59focus on the task at hand they know that a target goes onto the back of whoever the winner of
14:05this
14:05contest and it's nothing that Michael Oku isn't used to as he's fighting back with every ounce of energy
14:12in his body as Oku now sends speedball no no reversal hangs on to Oku keeps on midsection DDT
14:17snapping motion from the champion hook of the leg there's a two count that was a textbook cover from
14:24Michael Oku but not enough to get the job done
14:30Bailey in prone position here we know Oku likes to use that springboard moonsault from the top rope
14:35absolutely the lion's saw with a twist straight to the top and Oku well speedball moved out the way Oku
14:43transitioned through to his feet kept himself in this contest oh my god Oku thought he'd evaded
14:50speedball again with the baseball slide and speedball went ah ah and he flipped the script he changed the
14:57page and speedball Mike Bailey now back in control of this contest but with every landing there's that
15:05a little bit more punishment on the knee
15:16speedball notice and he knows he needs to stay on top he's not going to win the title with Oku
15:20on the outside
15:24goading Oku back in the ring
15:26absolutely he is and Oku we know he's the man's not got the words I quit in his vocabulary
15:33oh no the only reason he was defeated by Osprey was referee's stoppage we're on right now we know
15:39yeah absolutely I hope to god for his sake he hits this
15:45he's done it again and Michael Oku can he capitalise dropkick and speedball hurtling out to the outside
15:53marine and now is the undisputed British Cruiserweight Champion gonna fly Michael Oku make your moment count
16:02yes he does
16:03Osprey flop to the outside and the undisputed British Cruiserweight Champion is very much on fire
16:14he's going up top that frog splash he must be thinking about it
16:21oh into a sunset flip but oh no speedball rolled through big kick and this time can speedball get
16:28him oh my god it's my knees and both men are in agony unbelievable but Michael Oku as he's done
16:37in the past
16:38time and time and time both again he grits his teeth he fights through the pain and he climbs to
16:44the second and now top rope
16:47take it in Michael Oku this is your moment from the top
16:54this match is just a story of knees yeah both men are being destroyed absolutely destroyed and
17:03one would say that if Francesco Akira wasn't such a competitor and I know in his nature he'd want
17:09either man at a hundred percent he'd be licking his lips right now looking at the way this contest is
17:14going
17:14oh anyone that says they won't take a slight advantage going into a match Andy is a liar
17:19any small advantage anyone can take going into a match especially a championship match they will take it
17:27and look at this you saw Michael Oku there he doesn't want to get into a strike of his people
17:32he tried to grab his wrist there to stop him
17:37he's fallen into that trap and this is if you ask me this is a mistake
17:43and like I've said it before speedball isn't the hardest hitter but he's so precise with his strikes
17:50I'm talking he's a hard kicker but when we're talking about those forearms and uppercuts
17:53speedball is as precise as precise comes and often precision and speed beats power
18:05see that picture perfect absolutely straight to the side of the jaw
18:08the thing is the speedball as soon as you see if speedball ends up on the back foot
18:12he will just kick him he will kick him as hard as he can well that's one of the things
18:16isn't
18:16it oh oh boy he might not be able to because like I said one of the things about the
18:20kicks as well is
18:20you have to base off the other leg so even though he's kicking with his good leg he has to
18:24base off
18:25the injured leg and that's going to put him in a compromised situation doing just that but that's
18:30perhaps that's why he's favoring those forearm strikes and just say you see how compromised
18:34that leg is because that forearm strike sent speedball down to the canvas at a time when
18:39earlier in the canvas he would have earlier in the contest he would have just stood and ticked
18:47this isn't one-way traffic but Michael Oku is also seriously compromised
19:07is he is he thoughtlessly he might be out no he's still in this contest barely I think the only
19:13reason
19:13he lifted his arm there was Oscar Harding was telling him respond to my request or I'll stop this one
19:19and
19:20Michael Oku knows he had that contest against Osprey stopped
19:35oh he went the kick and Oku caught it spins him around super kick to the jaw speedball's rocked into
19:41the corner Oku follows up big boot
19:50he's looking for the flamingo driver he hits this and we got a new cruiserweight champion speedball by Bailey with
19:58the move for one no no no Oku finds a way out
20:03speedball through to his feet
20:04speedball through to his feet kick to the midsection speedball the ropes watch out into the knee what impact from
20:09the undisputed British cruiserweight champion Oku connects
20:21and Oku under turn follows through huge lion's hole Michael Oku retains and again so so close absolutely it doesn't
20:34get much closer than that does it
20:36hold on to the foot though
20:39it's nights like this that we live for this is progress it is best the undisputed British cruiserweight championship on
20:46the line
20:47and who's going to win this contest is absolutely anyone's guess
20:51Oh no Oku finds a way out speedball breaks away the arms and finally connects with those knees this is
20:58what he's been looking for the whole contest grits his teeth through the pain
21:02hoists Oku up and now and now and now speedball Mike Bailey has him up and we're gonna see a
21:12flamingo driver
21:14good night and speedball is enrolling
21:18how on earth but speedball's undeterred speedball's undeterred
21:30and speedball perches Oku onto the top rope
21:35and so many times you see men in that situation
21:38you see almost a live sub out their body when their big move doesn't work but not speedball
21:43he says hey i'm gonna go even bigger he takes it to the top rope and speedball Mike Bailey is
21:49one high risk
21:50oh my god Jesus the neck and a head driven down to the canvas and can Oku capitalize what a
21:59froggy cross body
22:04Oku now oh he nearly got him with a mill shot a homage to his best friend Connor Mills the
22:17mill shot not enough to put away speedball Mike Bailey but maybe the half crowd will be
22:26as he turns over speedball and he's got it applied and speedball's thinking about it
22:36if Oku can just sit back if he can get the balance
22:40okay speedball found the ropes he needs to just get that balance to be able to sit down
22:54and Michael Oku drives on to speedball this time it's Michael Oku who's undeterred and stays on top of his
23:02opponent
23:11and to speedball straight at the other side watch out I did it again and Michael Oku gets him a
23:16second time
23:20throws speedball back into the ring Michael Oku wants to win this one in the centre he wants there to
23:26be no question marks about this contest he wants to continue to prove his doubters wrong
23:31and if he continues like this he's gonna do it in emphatic fashion because he
23:36connects with a huge drop kick and finds himself on the outside of the ring
23:40looking out to the crowd teasing off their energy and he's gonna take it to
23:44the top one more time. Obviously looking for that frog splash no such luck yet is
23:54this the moment it seems like this is what we normally say about the champion
24:11but now we're saying about the challenger and hang on he's sat down and now
24:20speedball look at the speedballs in agony he's gonna have to top out or risk
24:24serious injury right here or grit his teeth fight through the pain still risk the
24:31injury and fight on this is how much the undisputed British Cruiserweight
24:38Championship means to both men as speedball scratching and clawing
24:43he's exhausted he is he's exhausted setting in on Michael Oku and Michael Oku may have just gassed himself out
24:53right there
24:54that played into it that played into speedball get into the ropes Oku is exhausted that
25:00final flurry up into that frog splash yeah everything that Oku had left absolutely he
25:09needs to dig deep he's looking for it he's putting him back on top again he's going to look for
25:30another flamingo driver I think oh no he's not he follows him to the top
25:36whatever he's got in mind he has some evil evil intent behind it I tell you that for nothing
25:49superplexed by the looks of it oh look he's looking almost looking for a fishman suit no no no no
25:54no no oh my god
25:56Oh my god! unbelievable!
25:58speedball Mike Bailey makes his move!
26:01Oku kicked out again how on earth did Michael Oku kick out!
26:09shooting star knees he's going to look for it
26:16oh he's gone
26:20how did he do that how did he do that oku
26:24people trying to get to the ropes a second time
26:26and he sits back and look at her talk
26:33it's over my god it's over
26:36what a contest what a match
26:38ladies and gentlemen your winner
26:44and still the un-disputed British Cruiserweight Champion
26:50Michael Ongel
26:55no liars I've got goosebumps
26:59that was as physical as physical comes
27:04both then put it all on the line
27:08that at the end of the day it was a resourcefulness
27:11it was a determination
27:13and dare I say the true grit
27:15and the champion that saw him through
27:19as Michael Ongel retains
27:21and continues his history making run as undisputed British Cruiserweight Champion
27:29and look at the look of joy on the face of Connor Mills his best friend
27:34that one was close
27:35Connor Mills knows it
27:37but Michael Ongel is still your British Cruiserweight Champion
27:42we saw Andy at the very very end there
27:46after he picked up the victory the people stood
27:48and Oku looked at the people
27:50and he was like you damn well stand up
27:53I've just proven my point
27:55and I'll tell you what
27:55I will give the kid his fair dues
27:58he's proved a huge point
28:00but that passion
28:01that determination
28:02that emotion
28:03you could see it at the end
28:06it's like a frustration
28:07that the people just
28:08will not see him

28:35he recognises it was close
28:39Mike Bailey
28:42the thing is for Speedball Mike Bailey
28:45he can walk out of there with his head high in my opinion
28:48it was that close
28:49it was that close
28:51it's been quite a few weeks for Speedball hasn't it
28:54and he's still the 2021 British Jake Nut winner
28:58no one can take that away from him
29:00but no one can take away the fact
29:02that Michael Ongel is the longest reigning
