In 1993, Soraida Salwala opened the world’s first Asian Elephant Hospital in Lampang, Thailand to treat elephants that are ill or injured as a result of work, abuse or neglect. To date, she and her staff have treated over 2,000 elephants for everything from eye infections to knife wounds, gunshot wounds, broken bones, drug addictions and landmine accidents. "The Eyes of Thailand" is a color, 56-min HD documentary that exposes the problems facing the Thai Asian Elephants through founder’s quest to save them. Produced by D.V.A. Productions, with music my Amie Penwell, the film asks you to look into "the eyes of Thailand".
