00:00There have been people inside SoftBank who would kind of remind Son of these possibilities
00:07that, you know, maybe OpenAI might not turn out to be as successful as you would hope for.
00:15But on multiple occasions, you know, Son has brushed off these concerns
00:21and has always been quite convinced and remains convinced that his support,
00:28their support for OpenAI, is very much worth it.
00:32And that's why he was able to go from $500 million investment in September 2024
00:38to more than $60 billion in, I think, that was like one and a half years, less than two years'
00:45time.
00:46It sounds like SoftBank might be a company that's really dominated by Son's vision and Son himself.
00:51I think it was always a Son company in a way because, you know, he built the company from scratch.
00:58And he's made all the key decisions.
01:00And there was a time in the past where SoftBank had some key members on the board,
01:08like Fast Retailings, Yanai, and Nidex, Nagamori, on the board,
01:15who would actually, you know, speak up when they have a view that kind of goes against Son.
01:21But now, like, these people have left the board.
01:25Our understanding is that there is less kind of outspoken voice to speak up against Son
01:33in a very strong, forceful fashion.
01:36There isn't a forceful enough power within SoftBank currently
01:41that would be able to kind of persuade Son out of something that he, like, very strongly believes in.
