00:01A little background here before our cup of joy here on the Andy Sommer Show.
00:06I spent some time with a former co-worker of all of ours.
00:10She used to work at the radio station, our friend Kelly.
00:13Kelly.
00:13Yeah, and now she works with Make-A-Wish.
00:16Nice.
00:17And so I'm like talking to her about Make-A-Wish, learning about it.
00:20Find out their office is in the same, like, parking lot as our office.
00:26You could literally walk there.
00:27It's right there.
00:28So I'm like, has the commute changed for you?
00:29Is everything good?
00:30She's like, no, it's great.
00:31So we get to talking, and I learn about, you know, all the stuff that Make-A-Wish is doing.
00:36And she tells us about one Make-A-Wish kid who had the ultimate day where he joined the SWAT
00:44team for a day.
00:46Oh.
00:47That's amazing.
00:48Yeah, a nine-year-old boy named Enzo.
00:50That was his dream.
00:51And so he got picked up by one of those awesome, amazing armored vehicles.
00:57And driven through the city to be a member of the SWAT team for a day.
01:02Wow.
01:03He got sworn in by the police commissioner.
01:05That's amazing.
01:07Here's his mom.
01:08To Enzo.
01:09He's always loved SWAT and police and everything.
01:11So he's really, really excited to be able to just hang out with the guys for the day and see
01:17everything that they do.
01:18And it's so cool.
01:20That's awesome.
01:21And as Make-A-Wish does, right?
01:22Like, the whole family was involved.
01:24Sure.
01:24His brother, Otto, got to be a part of the SWAT team, too.
01:28It was so special.
01:29But then I got to asking her.
01:30I was like, well, I don't know much about Make-A-Wish other than the wishes they make come true.
01:34So I'm like, how many wishes are you granting?
01:36And they service our local area.
01:39So they service the Philadelphia area, Delaware, the Susquehanna Valley.
01:42Like, it's kind of a large area.
01:44So I said, how many did you do last year?
01:46I'm thinking they're going to say, like, take a guess.
01:48What do you think?
01:49Like, 20?
01:50I was thinking maybe 50.
01:51Yeah, maybe 50.
01:52Right.
01:55333 wishes granted by this local group.
01:57That's almost one a day.
01:59Yeah.
01:59I was shook.
02:01Completely shook.
02:02And then when she told me about this SWAT team, I said, that might be the coolest wish ever.
02:06Because especially our men and women who protect and serve every single day have been put in such a bad
02:12light as of late.
02:13When really, they're just here to serve and protect us and keep us safe.
02:16So for a 9-year-old Enzo to make this his wish, oh, incredible.
02:21Big, big shout-out to Make-A-Wish and shout-out to this 9-year-old.
02:24We're fighting with you.
