00:00I had to think then, Peter, when was your first TT? It was 2014.
00:04It was 2014, yeah.
00:06And apart from the Covid years, you've done every one, yeah?
00:09So this is your 11th TT.
00:11Yeah.
00:12Yeah.
00:12And you know, you've come in and you've taken it by the grip of the neck, you know.
00:18And 14 wins and you've had a good run.
00:22You've certainly made your mark on the TT, whatever happens.
00:26Thanks.
00:27Well, no, seriously, you have.
00:29And you are one of the top men.
00:32You're the top man, really.
00:33You're a flat record holder and, you know, 14 wins on a par with Mike Hailwood.
00:38Yeah.
00:38Philip McCallum.
00:40Pretty special, that is, yeah.
00:40Who else is there?
00:41There's one or two others.
00:42But, yeah, top man.
00:45I have to ask you, you know, you had the spill at Ginger Hall two years ago
00:48and last year, just up the road, not far from there, in practice,
00:53that was mechanical, really.
00:54I think Caramore, yeah, it was.
00:55Yeah, yeah.
00:55So, from now on, you're going to take Short Cup.
00:57Yeah.
00:58You're going to do the bit, the off-road bit that David Knight was going to do in the challenge
01:01with you.
01:01I think that's probably what I need to do, miss that whole section out, somehow.
01:06Because they were only a few yards apart, really.
01:08Yeah, they were.
01:08They were like three corners away.
01:10Yeah, Ginger Hall and then Caramore was where I crashed last year.
01:12But it took a little while to get over the Caramore one, didn't it?
01:15Just a little bit, yeah.
01:16Yeah.
01:16There was a lot of broken bones.
01:18Yeah.
01:19I rattled my belly a little bit as well.
01:21And, yeah, it's been tough, you know.
01:23But I'm not too far away from being fully fit.
01:26Yeah.
01:26The rest of my body is really strong.
01:27I've still got some nerve damage in my shoulder.
01:29But, overall, I can ride a bike, actually, pretty well.
01:32You feel all right, yeah.
01:32That's not really a problem at all.
01:34And, yeah, I'm looking forward to getting back and putting the demons to bed.
01:37Yeah, well, exactly, yeah.
01:39So, you had a bit of a spill at Daytona, too, but that was...
01:42It's part of racing.
01:43Yeah, it is.
01:44Daytona is one of those places where you're on the edge, aren't you, man?
01:46It's been really interesting to see.
01:48Like, lots of people think that I've turned into a crasher all of a sudden.
01:51Yeah, yeah.
01:51Crashing is part of racing.
01:53Yeah.
01:53I race, and I race probably more than most people.
01:56You know, I do the full British Superbike Championship.
01:58I do Daytona 200 Northwest TT on all classes.
02:03Yeah.
02:04The Macau Grand Prix, like, you name it.
02:07I race it and do it.
02:09And I don't have that many crashes.
02:11But when you do ride bikes and race bikes, you will crash.
02:15Yeah, you will.
02:16That is very much part of the game.
02:18Yeah.
02:18And it's interesting that from the outside, I think maybe just because people haven't
02:22seen me crash probably so much in the public eye as much as what's happened recently,
02:26they think that all of a sudden I'm crashing a lot more.
02:29I'm like, no, not really.
