A Level 4 severe weather event is impacting nine states in the US today, following yesterday's storm that resulted in over twenty tornadoes in Nebraska, Kansas, and South Dakota. The Storm Prediction Center has issued alerts for tornadoes capable of reaching EF2 intensity, hail up to four inches, and flash flooding in the Mississippi Valley region. FEMA and the National Weather Service are strongly advising individuals in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky to seek immediate shelter.
