00:00This AI medical-driven equipment is just one of the highlights at the first-ever Taiwan-led
00:05health tech expo in Geneva. It is part of the country's efforts to showcase its strength in
00:10medical innovation despite being excluded from this year's World Health Assembly. Taiwan's
00:15foreign and health ministries work together to bring 30 Taiwanese healthcare institutions
00:20and enterprises specializing in next-generation AI solutions and award-winning technologies.
00:26We provide an AI-driven execution solution and we use the solution to help the hospital
00:34and the long-term care center to expand the capacity for the rehabilitation for long-term care
00:41so we can have the patient to regain the ability sooner. We came here to show that what we are
00:48doing
00:48in Taiwan and what we can contribute to the world and I think that is important because you know
00:55WHA has forbidden us to join the conference and we think that we actually have the capability
01:02to contribute to the healthcare in the world. The expo also featured several fireside chats
01:09discussing how AI can be responsibly implemented in healthcare settings. Business leaders said
01:15these kinds of conversations are vital to bridging Taiwan and Europe. Taiwan has been doing business
01:21with Europe and European businesses have been doing business with Taiwan for the past decades many
01:27decades so this is ongoing business this is ongoing improvement of business relationships with both
01:34suppliers distributors manufacturers on both sides so that street goes both ways. Vendors will carry the
01:42conversation over the three-day expo aiming to further connect Taiwan's medical experience into the rest of
01:47the world. Taiwanese officials at the expo said that they'll continue to push for Taiwan's inclusion
01:53in the World Health Organization. Until then they'll keep partnering with more countries to share the
01:58technologies and solutions that Taiwan is already developing. Alec MacDonald, Isabel Wong, and Justin Wu in Geneva for Taiwan Plus.
