00:30:24It seems to me sometimes that maybe the biggest difference between good and great design is the willingness to pivot
00:30:30when it takes extra effort and extra dollars.

00:30:39Originally, we ordered this kind of saffron subway tile, thinking that this might be cool.
00:30:46We've got a lot of this sort of okery mustard color inside and thought that might be fun.
00:30:51But it ended up looking more like a school bus than the cool 70s saffron vibe we were hoping for.
00:30:57I think one of the other things that is cool about this tile is it's got this kind of like,
00:31:02there you go.
00:31:04This tile has imperfect edges where you kind of like are seeing what gives the effect of a handmade hand
00:31:11glaze.

00:31:14And I do think that that gives it kind of a cool outdoorsy feel that ties in well with the
00:31:19natural elements like stucco.
00:31:20I know that one of the criteria for the judges is that we're being creative.
00:31:25So we're taking a very simple ceramic subway tile, but we're going to lay it with a really thick grout
00:31:30line vertically and a narrower grout line horizontally.
00:31:33And what it does is makes it feel custom and it kind of ends up feeling like art.
00:31:37And we do get the best view of the sunrise.
00:31:41And I feel like that light coming off of this is going to be beautiful too.
