00:00Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to Monday Night Raw! We are live!
00:05Monday Night Raw, the longest-running weekly episodic television show in history.
00:10The champ is earned!
00:13And perhaps no decade defines Raw's unpredictability and spectacle quite like the 2000s.
00:19From blistering confrontations...
00:21Just bring it!
00:22Bring what? A vomit bag?
00:24...to mesmerizing matches.
00:26Oh, my God in heaven!
00:30The first decade of the millennium brought nothing but incredible action.
00:34Today, we take a look back at the best Raw moments of the 2000s.
00:39This is WWE's Greatest Moments.
00:44It's your turn, man!
00:47Oh, my God, what the hell are you doing?
00:50Absolutely unbelievable!
00:52Welcome, baby, I'm in history.
01:01Welcome, everyone, to WWE's Greatest Moments.
01:04I'm Michael Cole, and on this edition, we're looking back at some of the best Monday Night Raw moments of
01:09the 2000s.
01:10Raw has always served as WWE's flagship program, ever since its original broadcast back in 1993.
01:18And over time, the show has evolved into a mainstay in pop culture.
01:23Speaking of Evolution, one aptly named group once stood tall as a force to be reckoned with on the red
01:29brand.
01:30What you see in this ring before you is the greatest example of Evolution you will ever see.
01:37Led by the world heavyweight champion Triple H, Evolution featured the past, present, and future of sports entertainment.
01:44The animal known as Batista emerging as a sure-fire superstar.
01:50The status was solidified when Batista won the 2005 Royal Rumble.
01:54But the animal was faced with a mighty decision.
01:58Go after JBL's WWE Championship on SmackDown, or face his mentor Triple H.
02:04Sometimes Dave is not smart enough to know what's good for him.
02:11Tonight, Batista won't decide if he will go to WrestleMania, representing Raw, or representing SmackDown.
02:19Dave was just growing so fast that I could see him being this main event caliber, larger-than-life guy.
02:27It was Batista's breakout moment.
02:30Rick and Hunter are just trying to like, okay, obviously you're gonna pick the SmackDown guy, right?
02:33Because you can't go after your mentor.
02:36I've known what I was gonna do for a long time.
02:41There was rumblings, but you could tell that they were just waiting for this to just pop off.
02:46It felt right.
02:50Yeah!
03:01The thumbs-up, thumbs-down moment was for Dave Batista.
03:05That was the moment of, all right, kid, we're gonna go with you.
03:10What is he doing?
03:12Put him out!
03:13If you do this, don't turn him back!
03:16No!
03:17No!
03:18Oh, my God!
03:19It kind of really started to become real, like, I just can't believe this happened in my career, so I
03:23mean, it's taken off.
03:25It was something special.
03:26At WrestleMania, I'm taking the World Championship from you!
03:34I think it was one of the things that really helped just put the stamp on Dave of, like, yeah,
03:41forget the era that came before me.
03:42I'm the guy.
03:46In the 2000s, the seeds of the women's revolution were being planted, led by two Hall of Famers looking to
03:52prove that the women can perform to the same caliber of their male counterparts, WWE Women's Champion Trish Stratus, and
03:59her top rival, Lita.
04:01If you think you're gonna get my title, keep dreaming.
04:05I've been dreaming for the past seven months about the day I get my hands on you.
04:09And on the December 6th, 2004 episode of Raw, for the first time in WWE history, two women with main
04:17event, Monday Night Raw.
04:22Ladies and gentlemen, we have been waiting a long time for this opportunity.
04:26We walked into the building, and we were told that we would be main eventing Monday Night Raw.
04:31Wow.
04:32And it's all about the title, but I think it's about a whole lot more.
04:36We had some really strong personalities, but it wasn't, like, a women's wrestling division where they could truly show off
04:42their athleticism.
04:4350% was like, oh, my God, I can't believe this is happening.
04:47Oh, my gosh!
04:48Oh, my gosh!
04:49The other 50% was, you're damn right this is happening.
04:53We just got no business up here, so all or nothing, all or nothing in the boots home!
04:59Oh, my God, Lina did it!
05:01Lina did it, King!
05:02Seeing history being made in 2004 and the main event of Raw inspired an entire generation.
05:11I can't believe the effort!
05:13The heart!
05:14Both women displayed!
05:17There's nothing quite like a bit of good old-fashioned smack talk,
05:20and there's no superstar who has mastered the art of the diss better than The Rock.
05:25Hold up, cacao, hello!
05:26Hey, it's nothing!
05:27He says he knows you!
05:29You're nothing!
05:30And on February 24, 2003's episode of Monday Night Raw, live from Toronto, Canada,
05:36The Rock would let our neighbors to the north know exactly what he thinks about their great city.
05:43What a mixed reaction as it relates to The Rock here.
05:47Finally, The Rock has come back to rot his mouth on all your candy assets!
05:58It was a recipe for phenomenal success, and success just in terms of fans loving to hate me.
06:06The Rock said he wanted to go live Monday Night on Raw.
06:11More importantly than that, The Rock said he wanted to come right here to Toronto, Canada!
06:17Wait a minute, are you kidding The Rock?
06:19Look, is this the first time you've ever heard someone mention your city?
06:22Is that it?
06:22Oh, yay!
06:24Hooray!
06:25He said Toronto!
06:27He said my city!
06:28Yay!
06:30Whoopee!
06:31Whoo!
06:31Yay!
06:32That's where we live!
06:34We live in Toronto!
06:35Yay!
06:35Shut up!
06:36As a Torontonian, we did want to cheer The Rock, and he did not let us.
06:40It doesn't matter what you people think!
06:46When he really leaned into not trying to get cheered is when he was at his absolute best,
06:50because it's something new, and it's really entertaining.
06:52The Rock is stronger than a bear, faster than a buck,
06:55the biggest thing to hit Canada, because the Maple Leafs suck!
07:03The saga of the Big Red Machine, Kane, is one of the WWE's most dramatic and strange stories.
07:09Hell's favorite demon wore a mask to hide what many thought to be a disfigured appearance,
07:15but others believed it kept him emotionally stable and protected.
07:19Kane's facewear also caught the attention of World Heavyweight Champion Triple H,
07:23as he wanted to see who, or what, was under the mask.
07:28Kane!
07:29I promised you that before this night was over, your life would never be the same.
07:34The game and the Big Red Machine would clash for the world title,
07:37with one unique stipulation added to the match.
07:41If Kane loses, he must unmask.
07:46Kane must become the World's Heavyweight Champion, or he must unmask!
07:51And here we go!
07:52The reason I needed a mask, Kane had been burnt in a fire,
07:56and had been a Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, silent entity.
08:01And you have Triple H, who is Cerebral Assassin.
08:05No!
08:05I'm gonna blow!
08:07And the panoray!
08:08We're gonna see that face!
08:10No!
08:10Kick it!
08:11Yeah!
08:11And go!
08:13The Kane character had gone as far as the mask would allow.
08:17I mean, I don't know if we want to see it.
08:18Yeah, yeah, I do want to see it!
08:19Him taking off his mask for the first time, it was like, oh my gosh.
08:24Like, everyone wanted to see that.
08:25Here it comes!
08:29What the hell is this?
08:32Oh my God!
08:35What the hell?
08:37When Kane lost the mask, it was a brand new character.
08:41And you wanted to be watching Monday Night Raw,
08:44because you wanted to see what was going to happen.
08:46What the hell is that?
08:48Get a shot in that face!
08:50Is that a human?
08:53In the mid to late 1990s, the Monday Night War was in full effect.
08:57The WWE and rival promotion WCW battled it out
09:01in the world of television ratings,
09:03fueled by their staple Monday Night programs, Raw and Nitro.
09:07In case you're tempted to check out the competition, don't bother.
09:10However, that war came to an end in March 2001,
09:14as WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon purchased his competition.
09:17Here I am on WCW television.
09:22How can that happen?
09:23On the March 26th episode of Raw,
09:26our first-of-its-kind simulcast of the two Monday night shows hit the airwaves
09:30in a moment that will alter the landscape of professional wrestling forever.
09:37This broadcast is not only being seen here on TNN,
09:42but it's also being seen across Turner Network Television.
09:47The last Nitro was surreal, and you kind of felt like, what's next?
09:54WCW is buried!
09:56For any of us that were in WCW at the time,
10:00we didn't have much insight on backstage gossip.
10:03I just knew that the rumor was that that night, the company was in closed town.
10:08I own WCW!
10:10I own the WWF!
10:12And you will treat me with respect!
10:17I'll walk out of this arena!
10:24Shane McMahon is on Nitro!
10:26What in the hell is he doing?
10:28I was down at Panama City, and no one knew, really, what was going on with WCW.
10:33Surprise, Dad!
10:35The name on the contract does Shane McMahon.
10:39However, the contract reads Shane McMahon.
10:45I knew how historic that night was going to be.
10:48I now own WCW!
10:57WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle built his legendary career
11:01on the back of his incredible in-ring ability and technical wizardry.
11:05But the Olympic gold medalist's most underrated aspect was arguably his comedic chops.
11:10I got Olympic gold!
11:12I got Olympic gold!
11:14I got Olympic gold!
11:15But on the August 20th, 2001 episode of Raw,
11:19the wrestling machine looked to embarrass the members of the Alliance.
11:25Tonight is Stone Cold Steve Austin Appreciation Night!
11:31When I was beating the living hell out of Kurt Angle last night, I won it.
11:43The Olympic hero driving a milk truck into the arena and spraying down Stone Cold Steve Austin with a bunch
11:49of milk.
11:50It was a lot of fun.
11:51Oh, my God!
11:53Oh, my God!
11:53That's milk!
11:54That's milk!
11:55Milk-o-mania is running wild!
11:58Kurt, he just wanted to entertain the crowd.
12:01And if that meant spraying milk on everybody, he was just all about entertaining.
12:06That's milk-randed, and that's my God!
12:09I personally will never, ever forget being sprayed by that milk truck.
12:14The million-dollar princess has to come with Gary Cleen!
12:19There was a real great chemistry between the Stone Cold character and Kurt Angle.
12:24As much as I enjoyed the matches with him, I enjoyed the gaga part of it just as much.
12:30That crowd that night absolutely loved it.
12:33It was a great moment in pro wrestling.
12:39When WWE purchased WCW in 2001, the potential for crossover between the two companies' top stars was nothing short of
12:46thrilling.
12:47But the absence of one superstar was obvious.
12:50Powerhouse known as Goldberg.
12:53On the Raw after WrestleMania 19, The Rock would relish in his victory over rival Stone Cold Steve Austin in
12:58the middle of the ring.
12:59Stone Cold, if you're gonna get beat, who better than to get beat by it than the absolute greatest?
13:05The wrestling industry has ever seen!
13:08But while the Great One bathed in his triumph, a new challenger waited in the wings for his time to
13:14strike.
13:17I went to Hollywood, I came back, and then I came back and I get booed!
13:23At that time, I was making the transition from WWE to making movies full-time.
13:30The Rock has now beaten Austin, beaten Hogan, Triple H, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle.
13:35Everyone, everyone, now, there's nothing left for The Rock.
13:39It was the truth.
13:40There really was no one else for Rock to beat.
13:43What is there left to do?
13:47Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, don't think you're cool just because you know The
13:52Rock's accountant, Ira Goldberg, okay?
13:55Well, that is his accountant, Ira Goldberg, so that was fortuitous that it worked out that way.
14:00Oh, yeah, the most electrifying man entertaining all of you.
14:03It's over.
14:04You don't appreciate The Rock, you can all kiss the people's ass.
14:13What?
14:16Goldberg is here!
14:17It is him!
14:19And Goldberg is coming to the ring!
14:23Oh, no!
14:25Coming from WCW to WWE and making that splash, it had to be with the right person.
14:35You're next!
14:37What?
14:38Oh, God.
14:39Oh, that's a long line!
14:40Goldberg, take it down to Rock!
14:42Rock, he was instrumental in my success immediately at the WWE.
14:47I can't believe what I've seen!
14:49Goldberg on Raw!
14:54In 2001, the game's Triple H was on top of the world.
14:57Look out!
14:58Let's hit everybody!
14:59Reigning as Intercontinental Champion and one half of the Tag Team Champions.
15:04And there's Triple H from behind!
15:07However, devastating quadriceps injury put Triple H on the shelf for nearly eight months.
15:12Triple H sustained a very serious injury, a torn quadricep muscle.
15:19Dude!
15:21And on Raw's first episode of 2002, the anticipation was higher than ever for the return of the game.
15:33The time has come!
15:35The return of Triple H!
15:37I remember standing in the curtain and my music hit.
15:41And just getting a rush like, holy s***!
15:45He's back!
15:47Triple H is back!
15:56It has been eight long months of rehabilitation, thinking about this very night!
16:03My return from my quad injury was really special.
16:06To go from is a reality that I might never wrestle again.
16:10I am the game!
16:16And you can bet your s*** I'm back!
16:20To be injured for nine months and come back.
16:23It was a great, great WWE moment.
16:26Everything about it.
16:27Fairytale.
16:31I've had the honor of sitting ringside for nearly 30 years, watching some of the greatest athletes in WWE history
16:37perform at the highest caliber.
16:39But one superstar stood out as a true daredevil.
16:43I'm talking about none other than Jeff Hardy.
16:45I don't fear anybody.
16:47And I'm gonna do whatever it takes to get to that next level, no matter what, man.
16:50Hardy's fearless ways were never more prominent than his feet on the January 14th, 2008 episode of Raw.
17:00Referee has called for the bell.
17:02And here we go!
17:03Whoa, whoa, whoa!
17:04Wrestling Randy Orton, he's a villain, so he takes advantage of that opportunity.
17:09Orton thinking RKO!
17:11Jeff Hardy thinking retribution!
17:15That feud between Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy, I thought it was an amazing feud.
17:18I felt that it really elevated both performers.
17:21Randy Orton measuring Jeff Hardy!
17:25Oh, good lord!
17:27Jeff Hardy was that daredevil.
17:29He wasn't afraid of anything.
17:32Oh my god, what is he doing?
17:36Jeff looked like this through.
17:38Just went higher.
17:40I remember laying there.
17:43That's the kind of fall where if you land wrong, like, that could be it.
17:47Jeff's been doing that his whole career.
17:50Oh!
17:53Oh!
17:56It was such an adrenaline rush to actually pull that off.
18:01Unbelievable!
18:03He really thinks like an artist.
18:05To him, a swan-tong from the top of the set is much like a work of art.
18:11I can't believe Westyne!
18:15We've now reached our number one moment, and it's a clash of titans that was years in the making.
18:20Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Hulk Hogan was WWE's hottest superstar and the most popular professional wrestler on the planet.
18:28The greatest professional athlete in the world today!
18:31Well, when the Hulkster departed for WCW in 1994, the throne of WWE was left vacant.
18:38Enter The Rock, the most electrifying man in sports entertainment.
18:42The Rock says, know your role and shut your mouth!
18:47But when Hogan made his return to WWE in 2002, the Brahma Bull called out the Immortal One in what
18:55became a showdown for the ages.
19:01Who would have thought they would have seen Hulk Hogan and The Rock in the same ring?
19:08That was one of the most incredible nights I have ever had in my career.
19:14Icon versus Icon.
19:15They've got a name for guys like you.
19:17It's called Flavor of the Month.
19:20Is that what you think?
19:23That's exactly what you think.
19:24It doesn't matter what you think!
19:27With him, it was just so easy to sit back and play and tell the story.
19:33How do you feel about headlining one more WrestleMania with The Rock?
19:38Oh, my God!
19:39That iconic moment of Hogan looking at Rock for what seems like forever, because it was forever.
19:45It's as if time has stood still!
19:49Yes!
19:50Oh, my God!
19:50There it is!
19:51There it is!
19:52That's the answer we were looking for!
19:58Good luck.
20:01Because you're gonna need it.
20:03I wanted to shake his hand.
20:05He wouldn't let go of my hand, you know, and he pulled me in.
20:07Not as much as you, brother.
20:12Oh, wait a minute!
20:14Oh, brother!
20:14Oh, it dropped bottom!
20:16Everything about that night was so exciting.
20:21A truly unforgettable confrontation between two icons of the industry.
20:25Well, that'll do it for this episode of WWE's Greatest Moments.
20:29We hope you enjoy this look back at the most iconic and memorable moments of Monday Night Raw in the
20:352000s.
20:40Cold-blooded.
20:42From Stone Mountain, Georgia.
20:45Ferocious.
20:46Weighing 249 pounds.
20:49Sinister.
20:51Jake the Snake Roberts!
20:56The similarities between Jake the Snake Roberts and the serpent nickname he possesses are uncanny.
21:02You don't play around with people like me.
21:04Because people like me, we just don't play.
21:07Today we look back at the iconic career of Jake the Snake Roberts.
21:11Look at the size of that huge snake!
21:14This is WWE's Greatest Moments.
21:17Enter!
21:18Enter the snake pit if you dare.
21:22He's your son of man!

23:53reptile kingdom gave him a psychological advantage over his opponents sooner or later damian damian
24:01my friend will strike in 1987 jake found a kindred spirit in rock icon alice cooper cooper famously used
24:11live boa constrictors at his concerts we've always been bone breakers you see we were signed sealed
24:17witness on the day we were born yeah there was no surprise at wrestlemania 3 in front of a record
24:22setting 93 000 fans that alice cooper would be in the corner of a serpent sidekick when he faced the
24:29hockey talk man at the pontiac silver dome
24:34coming towards the ring and accompanied by alice cooper jake the snake
24:46being on the same stage as alice cooper a real nut for me man i mean i was just overjoyed

25:49there's no question that jake the snake roberts had charisma in spades
25:53his words were often times more dangerous than his arsenal inside the squared circle
25:58trust me one superstar to find that out was the million dollar man ted dibiase
26:05when he took the coveted million dollar championship from the million dollar man
26:10if you want your million dollar belt bring your million dollar butt and come and get it
26:17dibiase would try and reclaim his title against jake on the grand stage of wrestlemania 6
26:22but it was the words the snake spoke before the match

29:11at the hands of jake the snake roberts
29:16it's common knowledge that snakes are most at home in dark places
29:20preying on the weak for survival
29:22in 1991 the ultimate warrior was engulfed in a rivalry with the ominous undertaker
29:35and turned to jake the snake roberts for guidance through the dark side
29:39what warrior was about to find out is that sometimes trust can be venomous
29:47now they're the ultimate warrior in his ongoing quest to understand his adversary the undertaker
29:53has followed the advice of jake roberts
29:55it was time for me to turn heel

30:59i'm a snake
31:01never trust a snake
31:10in the 1980s few rivalries got as personal as it did with jake the snake robertson ravishing rick rue
31:17the ravishing one was the self-professed sexiest man alive
31:21who was convinced he was the desire of any woman who was in his presence
31:25the ladies love the way i move
31:29with full arrogance in tow ravishing rick had the very image of jake's wife
31:34cheryl airbrushed on his tights

32:07Messing with your wife
32:10He's tearing his tights off
32:13Cheryl Roberts
32:15You hated him you loved to hear him. He was the ultimate villain. You just wanted to see him get
32:21his butt kicked
32:23Nobody wants your loved ones face on some man's crotch. He just did so many things to piss people off
32:34But don't go out there and rip those off me
32:48My god the people are so happy now. They're screaming at the top of their luck. They dug down
33:00Fear is but a four-letter word and when it came to the eighth wonder of the world Andre the
33:05giant
33:05Many believed that there was nothing this seven-foot-tall monster of a man was afraid of
33:09But on an episode of Saturday Night Spade event in 1988 the world would come to find out that at
33:17one point or another
33:19Everyone can be rattled
33:24Handles this situation McMahon
33:40I love working with Andre he was such a performer. Wait a minute Jake back up on his feet
33:46He's coming back into the ring
33:48And look what he had
33:57So Andre terrified of snakes the only thing I think that brought any fear to that man
34:02I think he's afraid yes, he's terrified
34:04I didn't think a giant was afraid of anything
34:08I didn't think a giant was afraid of anything
34:09Oh no! Oh no!
34:10McCall on the giant! Look at this!
34:14Damien the snake!
34:15Touching! It's choking Andre the giant!
34:18Andre going down!
34:19Jake was smart as hell
34:21If anybody was gonna find
34:22A weakness
34:24It was him
34:25Andre touching his chest
34:27When he went down like he did and fainted the heart attack
34:30It was gold
34:32Ian slapping Andre around
34:34Twisting for the heartbeat
34:35Pounding on the chest of Andre the giant
34:37I had no idea that the giant was afraid of anything
34:40But we certainly know what his Achilles heel is now
34:45In the land of darkness the snake is king
34:48And in the fall of 1990
34:49Rick the model Martel would put that to the test
34:52So don't be Polinist
34:57Martel sprayed him right in the eyes with a paragon
35:00As Martel literally blindsided Jake with a vicious assault
35:04Roberts was out for months
35:06It wasn't an accident
35:07I did it on purpose
35:08Now you see me
35:11Now you don't
35:13Upon his return the snake didn't just want revenge
35:16He wanted Martel to feel the world the way he had
35:19Without vision
35:21I lived with it
35:22Now you've got to
35:24It's real simple
35:25A blindfold
35:26Yeah slip it on brother
35:27The blind leading the blind
35:29The two are set to face off on the grand stage of Wrestlemania 7
35:33In one of the most unique matches in WWE history
35:36A blindfold match
35:42First time in the World Wrestling Federation
35:44A blindfold match
35:46The blindfold match was one of my favorites
35:49We did so much by doing very little
35:52The crowd 100% trying to help Jake the snake
35:55They brought the fans into the ring
35:58And it's almost like the fans were warning the wrestlers of what was going on in the ring
36:03That's not fair
36:04They should let Martel wrestle at the hood, keep his eyes shut, and just work on the honor system
36:10We gelled together so well and we knew right away what one was thinking and it was fantastic
36:17Drops an elbow but nobody there
36:21Oh, Martel realized he had a hole of that ominous green bag that contains Damien
36:27I remember hooking his head
36:29Oh Jake found him, DDT got him
36:31And the people just
36:34But can he find him to cover him?
36:38Oh no!
36:40What a tremendous matchup!
36:43Show winner Jake Roberts
36:48You never know when a snake will bite first
36:51And in the case of the Macho Man Randy Savage, that certainly rang true
36:55During the wedding reception of Savage and his new bride Elizabeth
36:59An unwelcome guest crashed the party
37:04Psychological warfare had begun as the vile Jake Roberts would torment the newlyweds
37:09And in one of the most twisted moments in WWE history, Jake showed just how serpentine he could be
37:18Jake Roberts all over Randy Savage, tying him up in the ropes
37:22Come on Randy, get out of there!
37:26Oh no!
37:28Take this, Jake Roberts!
37:29Look at that!
37:30I still get a little too excited for that moment whenever I watch it
37:33I can't go any further than that
37:35But I should feel guilty, but I don't
37:38He's got it too close to him
37:39Keep it away from him
37:40Look!
37:41The snake is pointing
37:42Wait a minute, the snake is pointing
37:43Oh, the snake is pointing
37:45The snake is pointing
37:46The snake is pointing
37:47The snake is pointing
37:49The snake is pointing
37:49The snake is pointing
37:49On the arm
37:49Of Randy Savage who's helpless tied in the ropes
37:54When the snake bit Randy's arm
37:57We were in disbelief
37:59The snake would not release
38:01Something's going wrong here
38:03This is not supposed to happen
38:05Blood's starting to come out
38:07I grab the snake and pull on it
38:08But the snake won't let go
38:09I'll tug or anything
38:11He won't let go, man
38:12And now it's been, you know, 15, 20 seconds, man
38:14The people are getting really weird, you know
38:16With people reacting
38:17Jake Roberts shrinking the snake
38:20As the snake digs deeper into the arm
38:23This is not supposed to happen
38:25Finally had to pry the jaws apart
38:27And got the snake to let go
38:29Randy Savage is in trouble
38:32That was probably one of the best moments of my career
38:36It shocked Randy
38:39And it let the rest of the world know
38:41That Jake Roberts will do anything
38:44To get your attention
38:46And get where he wanted to go
38:48Jake Roberts has snapped his, his sack
38:53And it's now time for our number one moment
38:56As Jake the Snake Roberts slithered his way
38:59Into the psyche of audiences everywhere
39:02Ricky the Dragon Steamboat was the ultimate hero
39:04Much to the snake's dismay
39:07Steamboat was the superstar that had the good looks
39:09And the support of fans worldwide
39:12When I walk out there
39:13Or during the match
39:14They're chanting my name
39:15Or they're clapping for me
39:16I love it
39:17The snake was set to take on the dragon
39:19On a 1986 episode of Saturday Night's Main Event
39:23What transpired
39:24Would be one of the most vicious moments
39:27In WWE history
39:32Hello everyone, welcome to Saturday Night's Main Event
39:35They came to me this Jake
39:36Here's what we want
39:37We want you to DDT Steamboat on the floor
39:41And I told him I couldn't do it
39:42That was going to be something very, very serious
39:45Because it had never happened before
39:46All his DDTs were in the rain
39:48And we argued, finally
39:50He just said, I know I can do it
39:51I can block it
39:52I can get my hands down
39:53Don't worry about me
39:54Say hello, hit him
39:55Off the rope now
39:56Ooh, what a close line
39:58And he kept begging, let's do it
40:01Let's do it, finally his mind
40:03Let's do it
40:05Oh, no
40:06Hey, Steamboat, that's using your head
40:09Oh, my goodness
40:12I like it
40:13Steamboat, unconscious
40:15His head hit, it made the most horrible sound
40:19I wasn't ready
40:20And consequently, my head hit the cement
40:25And...
40:26Swelled up
40:27He was completely out
40:28To try to pick up 220 pounds that's completely out
40:32Is a job
40:35Steamboat, totally out of it
40:36Unconscious
40:37And I pushed him and rolled him in
40:40I came into the rain
40:41They're starting to send people from the back out there to check
40:45Could've cost me a career
40:46I think the Dragon is out
40:48Very lucky that I didn't kill him
40:51He's my most favorite guy to work with
40:53Had great matches with
40:54Than we went out and put on some damn good performances
40:57A look at the churn from the face of anyone in his capacity crowd
41:02There's no question that Jake the Snake Roberts has left behind a legacy
41:05That still coils tightly around the heart of professional wrestling
41:09Well, that'll do it for this edition of WWE's Greatest Moments
41:12I hope you've enjoyed this look back at the very best of the one and only Jake the Snake Roberts
