00:00Former PKR Deputy President Rafi Z. Rumley and former Vice President Nick Nazmi Nick Ahmad
00:06are still bound by the party's 10 million ringgit bond
00:10despite their assertion that they vacated their parliamentary seats before leaving the party,
00:15says PKR Secretary General Fuzia Saleh.
00:19She said PKR had evidence suggesting that the two former MPs joined party Bersama Malaysia
00:25before vacating their seats based on information published on the party's website.
00:30She said the conditions of the party bond would therefore still apply.
00:35She said that although they claimed the anti-hopping law did not apply,
00:39the party has evidence showing they had already joined party Bersama Malaysia on May 17th.
00:45Fuzia said while PKR would leave the matter to the party's legal team,
00:50it is also expected to be discussed at tomorrow's political bureau meeting,
00:54including the possibility of action against the two former party leaders.
01:00Under the bond, candidates who win their seats on PKR tickets are required to pay 10 million ringgit
01:06within seven days if they resign from the party, join another party, or become independents.
01:12According to Rafi Z, the bond only applies if an MP quits the party and joins another party
01:18without vacating the seat won on a PKR ticket.
