00:00Brady, do you like that, that they moved the fourth major,
00:03well, we consider it the fourth major, before the United States opened?
00:08Well, I do and I don't.
00:10I used to love what they termed glory's last shot.
00:14Remember that?
00:14When, you know, it was the last major of the year,
00:17you had one more shot to capture a major championship.
00:21But I think by the – and the way the schedules changed and everything,
00:25I do applaud the PGA Tour for changing it
00:27because now you have the FedEx Cup playoffs.
00:30The PGA would kind of be wedged in there in a tough spot.
00:34And really, Dan, as so many things are in sports, this was dictated by the NFL.
00:40And I thought the PGA Tour did a great job of getting out of the way of the NFL.
00:45Their season basically starts when the NFL season is ending and vice versa.
00:51Their season ends when the NFL is basically beginning.
00:54So I think they did a good job with that.
00:57I'm not – it's not perfect yet.
01:00I mean, there's been too many high-profile events in the last six weeks.
01:03We've had like five signature events and two majors or whatever.
01:07I mean, that's got to be spread out a little bit.
01:09But I'm okay with the PGA.
01:11I think it's here to stay because, again, the golf season has adjusted to stay out of the way of
01:16football.
01:17And I think it's actually a pretty smart move.
01:19I think it's done the tour well.
01:21And how about this too, Brady?
01:22And now you look at the PGA Championship now with a $20 million purse.
01:27That means all four majors now are over $20 million in purse.
01:32Shows you the health of golf right now.
01:34Is that because of the demise of Liv, you think, a little bit?
01:38A little bit, sure.
01:39Yeah.
01:39I mean, they absolutely got a shot in the arm, did the PGA Tour, when we kind of heard that
01:44Liv was on its last leg and maybe doesn't even have any legs left after this season, which is fine.
01:50And I don't necessarily care that Liv goes away.
01:54It can be a good league for guys like Graham McDowell and Lee Westwood and the stars of yesteryear.
02:01Maybe it's kind of a middle ground between the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour.
02:06And you want to go play a couple of years and do that.
02:09That's fine.
02:11You know, growing the game, it actually kind of has.
02:14It's grown the purses, to your point, in the PGA Tour.
02:18The PGA Tour players got paid in response to Liv.
02:21Now Liv's going to go away, which we kind of maybe expected would happen eventually.
02:27And Koepka's back and Reid's on his way back and who knows who's next.
02:31But I think it's been fine.
02:33And in the end, the best players are where they should be, in my opinion.
02:38What do you make of the PGA Championship?
02:40Do you like the track outside of Philly?
02:43You know, there was a lot of complaints about the greens.
02:46You know, that was kind of like the equalizers.
02:49Scheffler and also Rory talked about those greens.
02:52What did you make of it and how it was set up for the four days,
02:54especially heading into Championship Sunday?
02:57I think it's been fantastic, Dan.
03:00I mean, it hasn't, you know, there's nothing like the back nine at Augusta, right,
03:04which just seems to produce so much drama.
03:07It's perfect every year, it seems.
03:09But I believe Aronimic has been really good.
03:12And Kerry Hay has done yet another outstanding job in setting this golf course up.
03:18The fairways are wide enough, so it's not like a U.S. Open.
03:21But the rough is penal enough where it's going to make you work.
03:25There's bunkers everywhere that are very difficult and challenging and where they are placed in greenside.
03:31And then, of course, the greens.
03:33That's a Donald Ross signature trait of his design,
03:36ultimately feeling that championships were to be decided on and around the greens,
03:40the scrambling and the chipping and the putting.
03:42The greens are a lot like Augusta National, not quite as fast, but the humps and the bumps.
03:47And, you know, a lot of times I think these guys like Rory and Scotty and, you know,
03:53John Rahm's been very diplomatic about it, I thought.
03:56They kind of want to poke holes and nitpick when they're not shooting 62.
04:01You know, when life is difficult, they want to find something that's wrong,
04:04maybe other than their putting or their ball striking or what have you.
04:08But as a fan with 40-some guys within four shots of the lead and these names on this leaderboard,
04:15I think it's been outstanding.
04:17And whether you like the setup or not, the entertainment value
04:21and what we've got in front of us on Championship Sunday,
04:24we might have a six-man playoff on our hands today.
04:27I think it's been electric as far as an entertainment perspective.
