00:00In these playoffs, with a league-leading 30 points per game.
00:03But tonight, his Pistons are on the road and one loss away from elimination.
00:09Donovan Mitchell, he needs one more win to achieve something he's never done.
00:13Lead his team to the Conference Finals.
00:16It's Game 6 of the Cavs and Pistons, and this is NBA Pre Game on Prime.
00:25It's me again.
00:29I'm going to keep calling.
00:32What if you embraced me?
00:34What if you became me?
00:35Mid-charge!
00:37Cut it with Benyama!
00:39Do you let me go to your head?
00:44Or use me to elevate your game?
00:50I feel like the rage-baiting would have been one of the strangest.
00:54Together, we can summon hope.
00:57Or crush whatever chance is left.
01:01This is the Conference Semifinals.
01:04Game 6 on Prime.
01:06Oh, she can't die!
01:08You're not going to get rid of me that easy.
01:11Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
01:13Welcome to NBA on Prime Pre Game.
01:16Presented by CarMax.
01:18Big countdown is on to a huge night of playoff basketball on Prime.
01:24In the East, it's Game 6 of the Cavs and Pistons.
01:27Later on out west, the Spurs will try to close out the Timberwolves.
01:31Minnesota needs a win to force a Game 7.
01:35And with the start of the NBA Finals lesson three weeks away, look what we've got.
01:40The Larry O'Brien trophy is in the building.
01:44Also in the building, we've got Turkey Bitspin, Steve Nass, Blake Griffin, Udonis Hazem.
01:48I'm Taylor Rooks.
01:50Very beautiful, shiny trophy there.
01:52I want one word that you think of when you see the Larry O'Brien.
01:56I'll start with you, UD.
01:57Me first?
01:58Yep.
01:58Oh.
02:01Why don't we come back to you?
02:04What do you got, BG?
02:06Go ahead.
02:06Go ahead, BG.
02:07Elusive.
02:08Distant.
02:11Memory.
02:12Oh, gross.
02:13Oh, my gosh, George.
02:14I could have said that.
02:17Glorious?
02:18Huh?
02:19Glorious?
02:19Nah, I'm trying to find another word, Steve.
02:22He's trying to find a UD.
02:23You got one, UD.
02:24Important.
02:25There we go.
02:26Important.
02:27Important.
02:28Important.
02:28It's not that important.
02:31Depends who you are.
02:32What are your values?
02:34Overrated.
02:34That was that cool.
02:36How important is it, Dirk?
02:37It was big.
02:39All right.
02:39Well, I have two words to describe tonight, and that is potential elimination.
02:44All right.
02:45In a game five, you like that?
02:47A lot of syllables.
02:47In game five, a three from Tobias Harris with the distance up by nine with just over three
02:53minutes remaining.
02:55Then the Cavs made their comeback.
02:57A driving layup there from Donovan Mitchell.
02:59He had a three from Evan Mobley.
03:01All part of a 9-0 Cleveland run to close out regulation.
03:05In the final seconds, Spida stripped by Asar Thompson.
03:09At the end of the play, there was contact for Jared Allen.
03:13Thompson went down.
03:14No foul was called over.
03:16On to OT.
03:17We have some disagreements up here.
03:19Max Struess and Cleveland started OT on a 9-2 run with a layup from Mitchell, giving them
03:23a seven-point lead.
03:24First road win of these playoffs for the Cavs.
03:27Here's J.B.
03:28Bickerstaff after his team's game five loss.
03:30You know, you're going to have to choke the life out of this team, right?
03:34We're not going to go down without a fight.
03:36We're not going to go down without kicking, punching, crabbing, clawing.
03:40And that's just who we are.
03:41And we've been in this position before.
03:44And we were able to work our way through it.
03:46We've had our back against the wall before.
03:48And at the end of the day, I mean, if we can't win a game on the road, how far
03:52are we really
03:52going to get in the playoffs?
03:53How far are we going to get in this league?
03:54So, you've got to go win a game on the road.
03:57That's what we're going to go do.
03:59I mean, Cade said it best.
04:01Detroit's backs are against the wall.
04:03I want to know what stood out about how Detroit lost to BG.
04:08Just careless turnovers.
04:09You know, some mistakes that young teams do make.
04:12But the thing that they've shown us is they're resilient.
04:14I mean, this will be their fourth time facing elimination in this playoffs.
04:18And you don't want to ever have a game like that, up nine, under three minutes.
04:22But it happens.
04:23You know, the one player I'm sort of looking at is Jalen Duran right there.
04:27He was so, so good in the regular season and hasn't been able to find that same rhythm.
04:32And he needs to get going.
04:33And I say he because at this point of the playoffs, like, he might have to do this on his
04:38own, right?
04:38The time you start hunting shots and forcing stuff, you sort of get outside of your game.
04:43The one thing you can do, especially as a big, go play harder than people.
04:47Go bully.
04:48Go use your strength, which is strength, to go get offensive rebounds.
04:53If it's not there, you don't feel good about it.
04:55Kick it out.
04:56Be active.
04:57It's amazing how the ball, especially in the playoffs, finds energy.
05:01So keep moving.
05:02And they don't need him to be any different than he was.
05:06They just need him to do it harder and put more and more pressure on these bigs.
05:10And so he's a guy that I'm looking to tonight to really change the tempo in game six.
05:15I think losing Duncan in that game, I think that really hurt them.
05:18When you look at the spacing, and we talk about Jalen Duran and what he needs to be impactful,
05:22you need spacing out on that court.
05:23Not just for him, but also for Cade as well.
05:25So I think Duncan in that game where they hit him down the stretch, they hit Cade down the stretch.
05:29Duncan had 17 points that game.
05:30He was five for nine from three.
05:32Dennis Jenkins had 14 points that game.
05:34He shot the three-ball well.
05:35But there's a difference between having Duncan Robinson on the court as a sticker
05:38and having guys on the court that can just make shots.
05:41Duncan Robinson is a sticker.
05:42He is going to pull gravity to him wherever he is on the basketball court.
05:45So if you're going to hit Cade down the stretch,
05:47or if you're looking to get passes in that pocket to Duran and those guys,
05:50he has to make shots, and he has to be impactful.
05:52If you see right there, they had a shot.
05:54They did make it.
05:55And if you see this one right here, the spacing is just bad right here.
05:57When they hit Cade, it comes back to the top.
05:59Assault should not be in that middle.
06:01We need to have an option to either drive or make that pass.
06:03There's no way to drive that ball.
06:04Now Tobias gets stuck with the ball at the top of the key.
06:06He has to take a shot down the stretch, a bad shot.
06:08So the spacing is very, very critical,
06:10and Duncan Robinson has to help that spacing.
06:12So I'm happy he's back in that lineup tonight.
06:14And I think the Cavs have recognized the incredible responsibility
06:17on Cade Cunningham offensively.
06:19And they've taken the tone of, let's wear this guy out.
06:21We're going to pick him up full court.
06:23He's got to make every play for this team.
06:25Then they've started to switch every pick and roll
06:27to make him manufacture one-on-one.
06:29And I think it's just making it exhausting for him.
06:31He's just had a seven-game series.
06:32He plays both sides of the ball.
06:34He's playing 40-plus minutes a game.
06:36He's got to make everything happen for this team.
06:38And without the spacing and just having him go one-on-one,
06:41he can get favorable matchups.
06:43They'll let him have Merrill.
06:45They'll let him have Harden.
06:46Whoever he wants, they'll put bodies behind him.
06:48They'll say, you've got to make it happen over and over and over.
06:51And I think that is a big tool.
06:53He's going to need some help tonight from guys like Durant,
06:55from guys like Robinson, if they have a chance of winning.
06:57On the Cavs side, I'm looking at Allen and Struis.
07:00Both had fantastic game fives.
07:02Allen had a big double-double, 16-10.
07:05Do you know that they're 18-4 this year when he has a double-double?
07:11So they're a different animal.
07:15They're a different animal when he's active in the paint.
07:18He had two big blocks.
07:19He's been great, obviously, around the rim.
07:21So when he's active, he gets rebounds.
07:23He gets stickbacks.
07:24They're a different team.
07:25And then Struis has been fantastic.
07:27Especially there, I thought, everybody's going to talk shooting.
07:29He had six threes.
07:31I thought in the first half, Cleveland didn't have much going.
07:33And he kind of kept them up, kept them scoring with his big three-point shooting.
07:38But I also like his physicality on defense.
07:41He's guarding Kate at times.
07:42He's keeping loose balls alive.
07:44He had this big steal in overtime that we saw earlier.
07:47So I just love his activity and his competitiveness.
07:50Yeah, after the game, Kenny Atkinson said they got that win because of Max Struis.
07:54He finished that game five-win with 20 points, eight rebounds,
07:58knocking down six out of eight threes.
08:00And earlier, our Christina Pink caught up with him.
08:04Okay, so Max, first of all, I love hearing your teammates and coaches as Don walks by
08:10talk about the presence you bring.
08:13Some things I've heard with nasty character, maniac competitor.
08:18I mean, how would you best describe the edge you bring to the court?
08:21I'm just trying to win.
08:23I don't think it's anything too crazy.
08:26I'm kind of getting called those names and getting called the maniac.
08:30But I'm really just here to win and play as hard as I can.
08:33And for some reason, that gets characterized as being a maniac.
08:37Well, okay, obviously, last game, the shot making was huge.
08:41But you always do all the little things that contribute to winning, the steals, the rebounding.
08:44I mean, when you were coming back from that foot surgery,
08:47is this kind of what you imagined contributing?
08:50Yeah, I mean, I think this has always been my game.
08:52I think this has always been something that I pride myself on,
08:55is being the hardest worker on the floor,
08:57trying to do the little things to help teams win.
08:58And, you know, just doing anything to help.
09:03And I think that's always been my main thing.
09:06And you can't control whether shots are going to go in or out.
09:09But you can always control how hard you play.
09:10So that's just been my motto since day one.
09:12And it's got me where I am, and I'm just going to keep doing it.
09:15Undefeated at home this postseason,
09:17how do you guys continue to protect home court tonight?
09:20Keep relying on our fans.
09:22They bring us great energy and get off to a good start
09:25and just play our basketball.
09:26We know what wins, we know what we're capable of,
09:29and just got to go out there and do it.
09:31All right, thanks so much.
09:32No problem.
09:32Thank you.
09:32Taylor, back to you.
09:34Great stuff, Christina.
09:36Now, if there is a Game 7 between the Cavs and Pistons
09:38in the Eastern Conference semis,
09:40you will see that Win or Go Home showdown on Sunday,
09:43right here on Pro.
09:46Time now for the drive to tip-off presented by CarMax UD.
09:50What are you expecting from your former teammate tonight?
09:53Intensity.
09:53He understands that they need to close this out.
09:55They do not want to go back to Detroit.
09:57He's been in this situation before,
09:58so I'm not surprised at the intensity he's bringing.
10:00I expect him to continue to bring that.
10:02All right.
10:02And also, Duncan Robinson, by the way, available but not starting, UD.
10:06He'll be ready.
10:07He'll be ready.
10:08He understands the importance of what he brings to be on this basketball court.
10:11Both of these guys, man, came from the mud.
10:13I mean, Max was at Lewis before he got to DePaul.
10:15Duncan was at Mitt Williams before he got to Michigan.
10:18Both of these guys are going to embrace this moment.
10:19They understand how important it is to be here,
10:21so I expect these guys will show up.
10:22Oh, my gosh.
10:23John Wall is among us.
10:24We will be right back.
10:26I mean, these guys, D2, D3.
10:28Come on, now.
10:30It's culture.
10:31NBA on Prime pregame is presented by CarMax.
10:35Want to drive?
10:39The loss of Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clark
10:42and former NBA player Jason Collins.
10:45Clark spent seven years with the Grizzlies after being drafted in 2019.
10:50The team said in a statement,
10:51Brandon was an outstanding teammate and an even better person
10:55whose impact on the organization and the greater Memphis community
10:59will not be forgotten.
11:07Jason Collins, who had a 13-year NBA career,
11:10was the league's first openly gay player and an NBA Cares ambassador.
11:15Commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement
11:17that Collins helped make the NBA, WNBA,
11:20and larger sports community more inclusive
11:23and welcoming for future generations.
11:25Collins had been battling brain cancer since last year.
11:31For more on his life, we welcome in our Ayan Eagle,
11:34also the longtime voice of the Nets.
11:36Ayan, thank you for joining us.
11:38You got to know Jason during his years with the Nets.
11:41We know about his legacy off the court.
11:43What should we know about Jason Collins as a player?
11:46Taylor, obviously terribly sad circumstances
11:49to be joining you for a couple of minutes.
11:51Jason came to the Nets from Stanford,
11:53drafted 18th overall.
11:55So he was an accomplished player in college.
11:58But with the Nets, they needed him to fill a certain role
12:02as a big man, to be cerebral, to be physical,
12:05to be smart out on the basketball court.
12:08They were running a version of the Princeton offense
12:11under Byron Scott.
12:12Eddie Jordan had coached with Pete Carell,
12:14the former Princeton coach, in Sacramento.
12:16So Jason had a very specific role.
12:19Set good screens.
12:20Backdoor cuts.
12:22Be aware.
12:22And he filled it to a tee.
12:26Everything they needed of him was exactly what he brought.
12:30He became a big part of the rejuvenation of the franchise.
12:35And on the court, he made the most of his abilities
12:38and developed into a terrific role player.
12:41You said it.
12:4213 years in the NBA.
12:44Yes, Ian, and off the court,
12:46what will you remember most about Jason Collins as a person?
12:51Very kind, very smart, very approachable,
12:56great sense of humor.
12:57He had this laugh that would stick with you.
13:02And he just had a real joyous way about him.
13:08He was very stoic on the court.
13:10But then when you got to know him off the court,
13:12you saw the other side of Jason.
13:15And I think the part that sticks with me,
13:18when he comes out and is the first NBA player
13:22to do it publicly,
13:23he recognized the responsibility that would come with that,
13:27not just in the moment, but for the rest of his life.
13:30And he shouldered that responsibility.
13:33And he did it with pride.
13:35And he did it with class.
13:38And I know he was very loved,
13:40very loved by his friends,
13:43by his family,
13:44by his teammates,
13:45and by his husband, Brunson, as well.
13:49The stories that we've heard about Jason Collins
13:51have painted such a powerful picture of his special life.
13:55Hearing that from you, from his teammates, friends,
13:57so many throughout the NBA community,
13:59our thoughts remain with everyone who loved him.
14:01Thank you for sharing, Ian.
14:03Thanks, Taylor.
14:04It's been a celebration of his life.
14:06It's been amazing to see.
14:10Jason Collins was 47 years old.
14:19I remember going into that environment.
14:23Game six is so mental.
14:26I just remember thinking that mental warfare,
14:31give everything you got.
14:33We hadn't won many games in San Antonio,
14:37just in general.
14:39That chess match starting to reach.
14:41Go to the next play, good or bad.
14:43There's no time to celebrate.
14:44When you're against the Spurs in the playoffs,
14:45it's like taking a test.
14:46But the answers and the questions are changing
14:47while you're taking the test.
14:49You're just hoping it swings your way.
14:51Yeah, it's, uh...
14:55Game six is such a pivotal moment.
15:02All right.
15:04Big game six tonight.
15:05In game five,
15:06Wimby had a monster first quarter with 18 points
15:08on his way to a game-high 27
15:10with 17 rebounds by the assists.
15:12The rookie, Dylan Harper,
15:14came through with 12 points
15:15and 10 rebounds off the bench.
15:17It was tied with just under eight minutes left
15:19in the third,
15:19and the Spurs outscored Minnesota by 29
15:22the rest of the way
15:23to take a 3-2 series lead.
15:26In game five,
15:27it was the Spurs' second 25-point win of the series.
15:31What stood out to you in that victory, Steve?
15:33Well, I was incredibly impressed
15:34with the Spurs' guards.
15:35You know, Fox, Castle, Harper.
15:38To sum it up,
15:39they just got to that rim
15:40whenever they wanted to.
15:41Forceful, downhill drives.
15:43I think it's going to be a real decision here
15:45for Minnesota.
15:46I think traditionally,
15:46they like to stay home
15:47and let Rudy clean up a lot of that stuff.
15:49But in transition especially,
15:50they've got to build a wall
15:51and keep these guys out of the paint.
15:53You know, if they don't,
15:55then Rudy's got to come
15:56and guess who's following up on the glass?
15:57It's Wemby,
15:58who's got skill and feet and athleticism.
16:00So I really think they've got to stop this
16:02before they get too deep,
16:04maybe even come off shooters in the half court,
16:06not allow them to get to the rim so often
16:08where then Wemby's on the glass
16:09or shooters are getting opportunities.
16:11By the way,
16:12Dylan Harper,
16:12the first Spurs since Manu
16:14to have multiple 20-point games
16:16off the bench in a postseason, BG.
16:17Yeah, he's been incredibly impressive.
16:19And like Steve said,
16:20all of their guards offensively
16:21are so poised
16:22and are making great decisions
16:23but what's really impressed me
16:25is them on defense.
16:26They do such a good job
16:28of slowing down the ball,
16:30applying pressure full court.
16:32You know,
16:33it's interesting for such a young team
16:35and a young group of guards.
16:36They can hurt you with speed on one end
16:38and then they can hurt you
16:39with physicality on the other end.
16:41And that's usually not a combination
16:42you're getting from a group of young guards.
16:44So I think they've been special on both ends
16:46but defensively have been very,
16:48very impressed with their ability
16:49to just lock into game plans
16:50and provide that first point of attack.
16:55And then you have Wemby behind you
16:57to clean up everything else.
16:58But they definitely make his job easier
17:01with the amount of pressure they put on
17:02and he makes their job easier.
17:03Well,
17:04a little bit of everything went wrong
17:06for the Timberwolves in game five.
17:07I mean,
17:07bad start,
17:08foul trouble,
17:09not enough from Randall,
17:10from Gobert,
17:11physicality.
17:11I mean,
17:11what adjustment does Minnesota need tonight,
17:14UD?
17:14I mean,
17:15first and foremost,
17:16to me,
17:16to be the team that have been
17:17to the conference finals
17:18back-to-back years,
17:20San Antonio seems to be
17:21the most poised
17:22and mature team
17:23in this series.
17:23When I watch the fouls
17:25and some of the fouls
17:26that McDaniels are creating,
17:28every time after the play,
17:29Nas Reed has something to say
17:30to the referee,
17:32Coach Finch about to square off
17:33with the official.
17:34Like,
17:34listen,
17:35keep the game within the game
17:36because the game within the game
17:38is where you're getting dominated.
17:40Right now,
17:40the point points are plus 76
17:42for the Spurs in this series,
17:43plus 61 in fast break points
17:45in this series.
17:46Right here,
17:46J.D. McDaniels gets this shot.
17:48This is just a bad foul.
17:49Right now,
17:49at this time,
17:50it's 64-61,
17:51you're down three.
17:52It went completely downhill
17:54after he went out the game.
17:55I understand your frustration
17:57because the Wimby impact is real.
17:58You got 41% of your points
18:00in the paint on dunks
18:01and layups last series.
18:02You're at 23% right now,
18:04so the Wimby impact is real.
18:05But what you bring to that team
18:06is too important.
18:08Anger,
18:09not managed right,
18:10is a boomerang.
18:10It's coming right back at you.
18:12So if you don't manage...
18:12Talk to him.
18:13Anger, not managed right,
18:14is a boomerang.
18:15Bring that one down.
18:15Yeah,
18:16if you don't manage that anger right
18:17and put that in the court
18:18and put that on your court
18:19for your team,
18:20then it's going to hurt you.
18:20And it's hurting
18:21Janie McDaniels right now
18:22and you're hurting your team, kid.
18:23Yeah,
18:23you want to follow that up?
18:25Yeah.
18:25I got nothing to say,
18:26but I think they need to get,
18:29obviously,
18:30Ant going,
18:31who is when they trap him.
18:32Can they play out of that?
18:34Can they make the right plays?
18:35Can Ant still attack downhill?
18:36They're really keeping him
18:37out of the lane.
18:37And also,
18:39Julius Randle,
18:39you know,
18:40who's averaging,
18:41what,
18:4121 in the regular seasons,
18:43only averaging 13,
18:4414 this series.
18:46They're kind of taking him out.
18:47They're taking him out
18:48of his playmaking abilities,
18:49only 1.6 assists.
18:52So not only his shots are down,
18:54his percentage is down,
18:55his average opportunity
18:57of assists are down.
18:58So he needs to find a way
19:00to get in there,
19:00get in the lane,
19:01maybe finish some.
19:02If it's not there,
19:03find the shooters
19:04on the outside.
19:04So he needs to be aggressive,
19:07maybe get to some
19:07of his mid-range package.
19:09He needs a big game
19:10if they want to extend this.
19:12All right,
19:12Spurs and Timberwolves later.
19:14First up, though,
19:14it's Cade and the Pistons
19:16against Spida and the Cavs
19:17from Cleveland.
19:18NBA All-Prime pregame
19:20presented by CarMax
19:22continues after this.
19:26Well, Dirk,
19:27you are up first.
19:28How many points for Cade?
19:29I think he's going to have
19:30the ball a lot.
19:31His hands make the serve
19:32for himself and others,
19:33so I'm going to go 30-plus.
19:34tonight.
19:35Okay.
19:36Steve Nash,
19:36Donovan Mitchell,
19:37he scored 21 in Game 5.
19:39How many will he have tonight?
19:4025.
19:41Home crowd,
19:41big night for Donovan.
19:42All right,
19:43straight to it.
19:43BG,
19:44how many points for Jalen Durek?
19:46We're going to go 10,
19:47but his impact needs
19:48to be beyond just the points.
19:49Okay,
19:49makes sense.
19:50UD,
19:51last one.
19:52How many is Evan Mobley
19:54scoring in Game 6?
19:55I'm going to go 18-plus for him.
19:56I think their bigs
19:57have cracked the code.
19:58They've dominated the other bigs
19:59in the last couple games,
20:00and I think he's figured it out
20:02with Tobias Harris.
20:03Okay,
20:03start tonight off right
20:04with FanDuel Happy Hour
20:05because from 5 to 10 p.m. Eastern,
20:08FanDuel is serving
20:09three 30% profit boos
20:11to use on any NBA bet.
20:12So just head to
20:13the FanDuel Sportsbook app
20:14right now
20:15to score better payouts
20:16during the NBA playoffs.
20:21Let's dive into the Cavs
20:23a little bit more.
20:23Steve,
20:24tell me,
20:24what have you noticed
20:25from the pick-and-roll coverage
20:26with both Harden and Mitchell?
20:28Well,
20:29the Pistons have decided
20:29to blitz their pick-and-roll coverage,
20:31and I think the Cavs
20:32have done an outstanding job
20:33of their spacing package.
20:35As you see here,
20:36Mobley is doing a great job
20:37catching in the pocket
20:38and then playing four-on-three.
20:40And you can see
20:40Allen gives you
20:41the big-to-big look.
20:43And then here,
20:43with Allen off the floor,
20:44you have three shooters.
20:45With him catching in this pocket,
20:47playing four-on-three,
20:48finding shooters,
20:49making their rotations
20:50too long and too tough,
20:51they're getting
20:52a lot of great opportunities.
20:53Mobley's getting assists,
20:54he's scoring buckets,
20:56giving them another look
20:57than just James Harden
20:59and Donovan Mitchell scoring.
21:00So I think it's been
21:01a fantastic wrinkle for them,
21:02and I wonder how Detroit's
21:04going to handle this
21:05going forward.
21:06Yeah, let's see it.
21:07Show us what you've got.
21:07Let's break it down
21:08a little bit.
21:09All right, BG,
21:09since you were such
21:10an excellent player
21:11in the pocket,
21:11I want you to be Evan Mobley.
21:13I was a good pocket player.
21:14Yeah, I was going to say,
21:15man, you were a trash
21:16shot at every time.
21:17You get all those points, man.
21:18That's crazy.
21:20We'll have Donovan Mitchell
21:21over there in the left corner,
21:22Max Drews in the right,
21:23BG comes up
21:24and sets this pick and roll,
21:26and then he's going to offer
21:27in the pocket to get this ball.
21:29Now, BG, talk to me about this.
21:31You were so good in this place.
21:32Before you even get it,
21:33what are you looking at
21:34and thinking?
21:34Well, first of all,
21:35what I love to do
21:36is take a peek.
21:37So I would kind of know,
21:38see what this side
21:39of the floor is doing.
21:39So when I'm rolling,
21:40I have to make sure
21:41I present myself.
21:42When I set this screen
21:43and I play with a player
21:45of this magnitude
21:46who is drawing attention,
21:47I have to present, right?
21:48And then the next thing,
21:49once I receive this ball,
21:51the advantage has been created.
21:52So I don't want to stop
21:53that advantage
21:54and stop here.
21:55I want to take this pass
21:56and be on the move.
21:58If Jalen Duren right here
21:59does not come up,
22:00my job is to go put him
22:01in the rim.
22:02In the rim.
22:02Every single time.
22:03But now,
22:04if Jalen Duren does come up,
22:06you're still receiving this pass.
22:07Jalen Duren comes here.
22:09I've got Jared Allen
22:10on the rim,
22:11and if Cade Cunningham cracks down,
22:13I've got Donovan Mitchell
22:14in the corner.
22:15But obviously,
22:16we see it several different ways,
22:17and there's also another way
22:18to get into this.
22:19For sure.
22:19And so then,
22:20obviously,
22:21Allen's off the floor sometimes.
22:22Mobley's at the five.
22:23Same situation,
22:24but now we have three shooters.
22:26So again,
22:26now it's just a little
22:27slightly different look for you.
22:29Yeah, same.
22:29What do you see here?
22:30Yeah, exact same thing, right?
22:31Keep speed,
22:32keep aggression downhill.
22:34I know I have two shooters in,
22:36and they're going to be
22:36on the weak side,
22:37so you put Asar Thompson
22:38in a tough spot.
22:39He's got to make a decision.
22:41One of them's going to be open,
22:42so I'm just hitting the open man,
22:43and if Asar goes to him,
22:45shoot it.
22:45He got a shot.
22:47He's still got it!
22:49He's still got it!
22:51He doesn't miss!
22:52No warm-up either.
22:53We are getting closer
22:55to tip-off,
22:56and the first game
22:56of our playoff doubleheader.
22:58Let's get it on out.
22:59Let's get one of these dirty.
23:00Got a little extra room
23:01in his pants,
23:01he makes a shot.
23:02Okay.
23:03High waist!
23:04That's why I'm here.
23:05High waist.
23:06The baggy joints.
23:13And good evening
23:14from Cleveland.
23:15and game six
23:16of this Eastern Conference
23:17semifinal
23:18with the number one seed
23:20facing an elimination game tonight,
23:23trailing by a game
23:24and on the road.
23:26This series began
23:28with the top-seeded Pistons
23:29winning the first two games
23:31with Cade Cunningham
23:33leading the way.
23:34Then the Cavaliers
23:36got into gear
23:37with Donovan Mitchell
23:38scoring 35,
23:39then 43 points
23:41to even the series.
23:43then two nights ago
23:45it was James Harden
23:46of Cleveland
23:46with a 30-point game
23:48and the Cavs
23:49had their first win
23:50on the road
23:51in the playoffs.
23:53Which sets up tonight.
23:55Can James Harden
23:56and Donovan Mitchell
23:59close out this series
24:00and take out
24:02the East's best team
24:03in the regular season
24:05and their star,
24:06who has been the top scorer
24:08in these NBA playoffs.
24:18And welcome everyone
24:19to NBA on Prime Tip-Off.
24:22Both Detroit and Cleveland
24:24went seven games
24:25in their respective
24:26first-round series,
24:28each facing elimination
24:29at one point.
24:30Tonight,
24:31the Pistons must answer
24:32on the road
24:33if they are to stay alive
24:35against a Cavs team
24:36that has now won
24:38three consecutive games.
24:42It is great
24:44to have you with us.
24:45A terrific Game 6,
24:46a raucous building.
24:47I'm with two legends,
24:49the decorated Hall of Famers
24:50Candice Parker
24:51and Dwyane Wade.
24:52We'll check in
24:53with our Christina Pink
24:54in just one moment.
24:55All right,
24:55let's talk about Detroit
24:57because every eye
24:58is on them.
24:59How do they
25:00continue this series?
25:02How do they win
25:02tonight here?
25:03Well, it's no secret.
25:04It starts and ends
25:06with Cade Cunningham.
25:07He's responsible
25:08for 46%
25:09of the offense
25:11for the Pistons.
25:13He's calm,
25:14cool,
25:14and collected.
25:15He's the only
25:15Pistons player
25:16to average 30
25:17in the postseason.
25:20The offense
25:20is going to run
25:21through him.
25:22The others understand
25:23they have to control
25:24turnovers.
25:25They have to score
25:25points off turnovers.
25:26They have to control
25:27the paint.
25:28Let's see if other guys
25:29like Tobias Harris
25:30can knock down shots.
25:31You've set the table well.
25:32Thank you.
25:33Now let's talk about
25:34this team in Cleveland.
25:35You have a lot of
25:36admiration for them.
25:37How do they close out
25:38this series?
25:39Well, guys,
25:40this has to be
25:41a Game 7 mentality.
25:43They have Detroit
25:44backs against the wall.
25:45You keep it there.
25:46I like to say
25:47you woke up
25:48in your own bed.
25:49You kissed your family
25:50goodbye.
25:51You drove into the arena
25:52and felt everything
25:53that felt familiar.
25:54Well, you have to use that.
25:56This crowd,
25:57this synergy,
25:58this city,
25:58the energy that's in here.
26:00For Donovan,
26:01this is an opportunity
26:02for him to get out
26:02of the second round
26:03and get to the third round.
26:05And for James,
26:06this is why you came here.
26:07You are here
26:08to chase something bigger.
26:09You're here to lead this team.
26:11Tonight,
26:12we want to see it.
26:13Our postseason upgrade
26:14presented by Wingstop.
26:16Earlier today,
26:18Christina caught up
26:19with the terrific
26:20Donovan Mitchell.
26:22Thank you,
26:23Kev Donovan.
26:24You guys have
26:24completely flipped
26:26this series
26:26after going into
26:27that 0-2 hole.
26:29Now you have
26:29an opportunity
26:30to close it out
26:31here in front
26:32of your fans.
26:33How do you take
26:33advantage of the
26:34environment
26:34and the opportunity
26:35tonight?
26:36We've just got to do
26:36what we've been doing
26:37in our playoffs,
26:38right?
26:38That's protect home court.
26:39We were able to steal one,
26:40finally get a road win.
26:41It feels great,
26:42but it doesn't mean
26:43nothing if we don't go ahead.
26:44Excuse me.
26:45It doesn't mean nothing
26:45if we don't go out here
26:46and protect home court tonight.
26:47So that's the biggest thing.
26:49Donovan,
26:50historically,
26:50we've talked about this before,
26:51you've been really great
26:53in game sixes,
26:54and you told me
26:54all I care about
26:55is winning.
26:56So what is your mentality
26:57when you're facing
26:58a closeout game?
26:59Just doing whatever
27:00you've got to do
27:00to win the game.
27:01Whatever that's scoring,
27:02that's defending,
27:03that's rebounding,
27:04that's diving on a loose ball,
27:06whatever is necessary,
27:07right?
27:07And, you know,
27:08let the game come to you.
27:09All right.
27:09Thanks so much.
27:11All right.
27:12So, Taylor,
27:13it's the number one seed
27:14Detroit Pistons,
27:15the number four seed
27:16Cleveland Cavaliers.
27:17It's game six
27:18here in Ohio
27:20as we send it back
27:21to you in Los Angeles.
27:24All right.
27:24Thanks, Kevin.
27:25Let's talk about
27:25the three biggest stars
27:26in this game.
27:27Cade, Donovan, James.
27:28Cade.
