Renegade police officer Matthew Cordell (Robert Z'Dar) once roamed the streets of New York City unleashing his murderous brand of vigilante justice upon its denizens before being struck down by good cop Jack Forrest (Bruce Campbell). Now, Forrest is eager to move on from those heinous events, but he is stopped short when a familiar killing spree begins. Though thought dead and gone, Cordell is back from the grave and ready to wreak his merciless havoc once more.

00:08:09No.
00:08:09It's okay.
00:08:10I stay.
00:08:13Hey.
00:08:15Hey.
00:08:16Let's open up some lotto tickets, huh?
00:08:19Sure.

00:08:23Yeah.
00:08:24Maybe I'll be a winner.
00:08:25Okay.
00:08:26I feel lucky.

00:08:30Keep going.
00:08:30Okay.

00:08:35Okay.
00:08:36Nothing.
00:08:36Nothing.
00:08:37Nothing.
00:08:38Nothing.

00:08:45I think I'm a winner.
00:08:47I'm telling you!
00:08:50Oh, shit, I had you a meal.
00:08:52Me, uh, 5,000 bucks.
00:08:565,000 bucks.
00:08:57You win 5,000 bucks.
00:09:09Thank God you got here.
00:09:23Can you believe that the fucker just won 5,000 bucks?
00:09:26I mean, I guess he don't win it.
00:09:28I guess I win it, huh?
00:09:33What do they say, huh?
00:09:34Who misses his own reward, huh?
00:09:53What for?
00:10:09Hey, hold it right there.
00:10:11Drop it.
00:10:12Put the gun down.
00:10:13No, it wasn't me, man.
00:10:17What a job, man.
00:10:19It was one of you.
00:10:33Hey, call an ambulance, will you?
00:10:36Get a broom.
00:10:37Look at this.
00:10:39Hey, Frankie, get out the hornet.
00:10:41Come on.
00:10:43Blew the clerk away, too.
00:10:46419, your search for backup is confirmed, over.
00:11:07Well, Officer Forrest, Officer Mallory,
00:11:12you've been cleared of all wrongdoing.
00:11:14In fact, you're going to get commendations for your actions.
00:11:18So, uh, does that mean we're back on active duty again?
00:11:21Not just yet.
00:11:23Commissioner, um, what about Cordell?
00:11:27What about Cordell?
00:11:29You didn't find the body in the river because it wasn't there.
00:11:34Curran must have swifted out to sea.
00:11:36No, he's still alive.
00:11:39You're starting with these ghost stories again?
00:11:42Cordell died in Sing Sing more than two years ago.
00:11:47I want you to see this police psychologist.
00:11:50What?
00:11:50Her name is Susan Riley.
00:11:53She's got an excellent record helping officers readjust.
00:11:56Oh, come on, Commissioner.
00:11:57We're not crazy.
00:12:00Of course not.
00:12:02So you shouldn't have any objections seeing Officer Riley.
00:12:06She's a cop, too.
00:12:09I set up a meeting for tomorrow at 3 o'clock.
00:12:11Be there.
00:12:13Yeah, we've got a 3 o'clock appointment.
00:12:15Oh, um, officers, uh, Mallory and Forrest.
00:12:19We're a little early, I guess.
00:12:20That's right.
00:12:21Um, why don't we go get a cup of coffee?
00:12:27Are you going to find us unfit to go back on the job?
00:12:30Well, I hope not.
00:12:32What do you think?
00:12:33Well, I think we're both just as sane as you are.
00:12:36Well, then you both realize that this Matt Cordell was killed in prison.
00:12:39Yeah, right.
00:12:40But you see, we both just saw him on the pier.
00:12:42So what?
00:12:43Does that make us nuts?
00:12:44What you saw was a very large man with a horribly disfigured face.
00:12:47Did he say he was Cordell?
00:12:48No, he never spoke.
00:12:50Well, then it could have been anyone in a policeman's uniform, right?
00:12:53A homicidal maniac with a grudge against the police force, maybe.
00:12:56Hey, look, you know, if this is the official line that the department's going to use, great.
00:12:59No, that's a lie.
00:13:04Would you excuse us for a second?
00:13:07Certainly.
00:13:13Teresa, all I know about is being a cop.
00:13:16I don't know about you, but I need this job.
00:13:19You know, when you think about it, I mean, what the hell difference does it make who he was?
00:13:23Because you can't kill the dead.
00:13:27Tari, let her go.
00:13:33Doc, do me a favor, will you?
00:13:35Don't put that in your report.
00:13:37Jack, I'm afraid I'm going to have to give her a negative evaluation.
00:13:40Come on, let me at least just talk to her, will you?
00:13:42She'll come around.
00:13:43I cannot let anyone out in the street that's got a gun with emotional problems.
00:14:01God, you want to do anything with learning, right?
00:14:17You want to be a 보
00:14:21Mckinney! You okay?
00:14:25Never better.
00:14:29We were covering the front.
00:14:31That's why I came around back.
00:14:39The Badger didn't kill him!
00:14:46Yeah, so much fucking paperwork.
00:15:05Come in.
00:15:07Hi.
00:15:08Hi.
00:15:08Lieutenant McKinney?
00:15:09Yeah.
00:15:10Come on in. Have a seat.
00:15:14I thought there'd be a couch.
00:15:17Just a chair.
00:15:19Yeah.
00:15:22So how you doing?
00:15:24Not bad.
00:15:26You know, I haven't been to Confession in over 20 years.
00:15:30But if the priests looked like you, I probably would have gone more often.
00:15:38Mind if I smoke them?
00:15:40Mind if I smoke them?
00:15:40Actually, I do.
00:15:42So, do you want to tell me about the shooting?
00:15:46Uh...
00:15:47Well, what's there to say?
00:15:48I shot him before he shot me.
00:15:52Look, doctor, let's make this easy.
00:15:54I feel great about what I did.
00:15:56If you want to psychoanalyze someone, why don't you psychoanalyze the lawyers and judges who put that kind of scum
00:16:01back on the streets?
00:16:02First of all, I'm not a doctor.
00:16:04I'm a clinical psychologist.
00:16:06And I realize you're here under protest.
00:16:08Well, that's good.
00:16:09So you can tell me how long my ass has to warm this chair before I satisfy the mandatory requirements.
00:16:15Well, every officer involved in a shooting has to see one of us for counseling at least once.
00:16:19Okay. I've been seen, counseled me. Thank you.
00:16:24Excuse me, Lieutenant. Did you have a partner? Sergeant Joseph Minnelli?
00:16:36Yeah. Joe and I were a team.
00:16:39He made an appointment with me once about six months ago.
00:16:41He phoned and requested help. That's a little unusual, isn't it? One of you asking for help?
00:16:48Well, he was, uh...
00:16:53sensitive guy.
00:16:55I never found that out. He stood me up, never showed.
00:16:58It was a Friday. The following night he committed suicide with his service revolver.
00:17:03I know all about that. I found the body Monday morning.
00:17:06I didn't know that.
00:17:08Well, there's a lot of things you people don't know.
00:17:10Well, someone talked him out of showing up here.
00:17:12Probably told him he'd be a wimp if he admitted something was bothering him.
00:17:16What are you getting at?
00:17:18You tell me.
00:17:24Please don't slam him.
00:17:53Hey, Harry.
00:17:54How are you doing tonight?
00:17:55Oh! How are you doing tonight?
00:17:56It's you.
00:17:57That's right.
00:17:57You definitely got your picture in the paper.
00:17:59I guess congratulations are in order.
00:18:07That's not such a bad picture.
00:18:09Tell you what, Harry. I think a dozen of them.
00:18:12A dozen it is. How often do I get a celebrity around here?
00:18:22Okay, Harry, give me your hand.
00:18:24Okay, look. This is a five, okay? You trust me?
00:18:26I trust you.
00:18:27All right. You keep the change.
00:18:28Thank you. Thank you. All right.
00:18:48Okay, let's see what they said about Therese.
00:18:55Jack, what's going on? What's happening? Jack, hold on. Talk to me. Talk to me.
00:19:02Police! Police! Police!
00:19:04Police!
00:19:09Strangled like the rest. All strippers. Sure picks the pretty ones.
00:19:15I'll try.
00:19:17You look sick.
00:19:18I hate being around Stiff's ever since they made me kiss my grandmother at the funeral.
00:19:26Remove the sheet.
00:19:28Could you do it, please?
00:19:55Do you have any idea what the family wants done with the body?
00:20:00I'll call his mother in Florida.
00:20:06Therese, can you think of anyone with a motive to kill Jack?
00:20:13You were at the lounge and headquarters. You had an argument. You got angry. You walked out.
00:20:19Where did you go?
00:20:21Home.
00:20:23You didn't wait outside the building and try to make up with him?
00:20:26I'd have no reason to kill him. I loved him.
00:20:29Well, maybe you loved him too much. Huh? Maybe you...
00:20:32Maybe you thought you were cracking up. You know, he didn't want to marry you. You're that angry.
00:20:37This is bullshit!
00:20:39Why don't you ask Commissioner Doyle who killed Jack?
00:20:43Look, I'm just following the procedure. Okay? You know as well as I nine out of ten times the prime
00:20:47suspects are usually family, relatives, or friends.
00:20:49That's where you find the killer.
00:20:52You bastards.
00:20:57Why don't you ask Commissioner Doyle who killed Jack?
00:21:00I don't mind what you're asking you to do to office and I would always want to...
00:21:04We're just doing it for the good of the department. We don't even consider her a suspect.
00:21:09It's just our way of putting her on the defensive for a while. Keep her under control, so she doesn't
00:21:13go to the papers.
00:21:15My time would be better spent finding out who killed Jack.
00:21:19Your time, detective, is to put more pressure on her.
00:21:24That's a direct order.
00:21:33Damn it.
00:21:35I don't like it either.
00:21:36You should talk.
00:21:38Your report described her as mentally unsound and unfit for duty.
00:21:41How am I supposed to really judge her? I mean, she's out there on the streets being a cop.
00:21:44I sit behind my desk like a social worker.
00:21:47I just don't like people who try and get inside other people's heads.
00:21:50Yeah, you made that very clear to me in my office yesterday.
00:21:53Is there any particular reason?
00:21:57My wife was under the care of a psychiatrist for over a year.
00:22:01You know, standard problems, cop's wife.
00:22:03No, I admit I'm not the easiest guy to live with.
00:22:06But she couldn't make a move without him.
00:22:09Stopped communicating with me, only him.
00:22:12Now she's my ex-wife.
00:22:15Is that reason enough for you?
00:22:19I'm sure the doctor was just doing what he thought was best.
00:22:23I don't buy into the psychologist stuff.
00:22:25I think you're all full of shit so you can take your Carl Jung and Sigmund Floyd and shove them
00:22:29up your ass.
00:22:30What?
00:22:32Just to clear up my eyes.
00:22:37I talked Joe Minnelli into canceling that appointment with you.
00:22:41And I don't feel guilty about it.
00:22:43How could you feel guilty?
00:22:46You're a cop.
00:22:47So are you.
00:22:54Hey, stop!
00:22:55Don't move!
00:22:56Oh, for God's sakes, you already did it!
00:22:58Hey, hey, hey, hey! Come on!
00:23:00Can't we talk about this?
00:23:02I'll move the car.
00:23:03I was just coming back to move the car.
00:23:05I got here first.
00:23:06Yeah, but I'm here!
00:23:06I'm right here!
00:23:07You can't pull me away!
00:23:08Read the back of your salmon.
00:23:11Hey, look.
00:23:11You're all alone.
00:23:12Can't we work this out just between you and me, huh?
00:23:15What? You offer me a bribe?
00:23:17Not at all.
00:23:18But if you tow my car, I won't be able to get to work tomorrow.
00:23:21I'll lose a whole day.
00:23:22You can't afford it.
00:23:23You enjoy this.
00:23:25You son of a bitch.
00:23:26You got a shitty nothing civil service job.
00:23:29Oh, careful of my fender with that.
00:23:30This is a new paint job.
00:23:31I just had the whole thing quacked.
00:23:33You'll be throwing fucking cars the rest of your life, you know that?
00:23:35You'll never be anything.
00:23:37You can't even do this stupid job right.
00:23:38I'd like to see the piece of shit you drive.
00:23:44You better start thinking about getting out to Brooklyn early tomorrow to reclaim this beauty.
00:23:50A lot of car gets tripped in our lot.
00:23:53The stereo, the tires, the whole engine.
00:23:56That's why I wouldn't own a car in this town.
00:24:30Good night, Harry.
00:24:31Good night.
00:24:33Happy holidays.
00:24:36There you go, Harry.
00:24:37Good night. Excuse me.
00:24:39Hi. I'd like to talk to you.
00:24:41Do I know you?
00:24:42I'm from the police department.
00:24:45I talked to the cops already enough.
00:24:47I'm not an investigator like the others.
00:24:49I'm a psychologist.
00:24:50I'm trying to do a profile on this killer.
00:24:52I've got nothing to say.
00:24:53I'm trying to make a living.
00:24:55Maybe you could tell from his footsteps he's a large man,
00:24:58or perhaps he said something?
00:25:00No footsteps.
00:25:02I just heard Jack screaming, and that's all.
00:25:05Did you touch him?
00:25:07Not the victim, the killer.
00:25:09Why'd you ask me that?
00:25:11You did, didn't you?
00:25:13Tell me.
00:25:16I lost my sight in combat in Sicily.
00:25:19A German grenade went off in my face,
00:25:22killed all the others in the foxhole around me.
00:25:26I lay there more than a day,
00:25:29surrounded by these dead bodies.
00:25:32buried in them.
00:25:34At night, they froze.
00:25:39Them being on top of me,
00:25:41kept me from treason too.
00:25:47I never thought I'd
00:25:50feel anything like that again.
00:25:53Frozen, dead flesh.
00:25:56And then...
00:25:57I touched his hand.
00:26:00Just for a second, mind you.
00:26:02And I was back there again.
00:26:04With the dead.
00:26:12Ow!
00:26:12You killed him, you son of a bitch!
00:26:14Ow! Take it easy!
00:26:16Look, if he wanted to tow my car, so what?
00:26:18You don't kill anybody over bullshit like that!
00:26:20Well, if you didn't kill him,
00:26:22who the fuck did?
00:26:23You wouldn't believe me!
00:26:24Why don't you try me, punk?
00:26:26All right, all right!
00:26:27He was a great big cop.
00:26:29Six foot three, maybe more.
00:26:31All scarred up, and he never said a word.
00:26:33You know something?
00:26:34I don't believe you!
00:26:35Get the fuck out of here!
00:26:38Take a look at these reports.
00:26:39It's...
00:26:40It's happening again.
00:26:50I got into this job two weeks ago.
00:26:53Give me a break.
00:26:55You're talking about a man who killed your predecessor.
00:26:58A man who may try to pull the same number on you.
00:27:00Then the wrong guy died in that truck in the river.
00:27:03When this leaks out, people are not gonna wanna pick up the phone
00:27:06and dial 911.
00:27:08They're gonna wanna defend themselves.
00:27:11We're looking at a bloodbath here.
00:27:13Citizens blowing each other away like there isn't any law.
00:27:16Tell me the truth.
00:27:17Do you think it's a cop?
00:27:18Some officer that's gone off the deep end?
00:27:21Doesn't fit the description of any cop I know.
00:27:24Six feet three, scars all over.
00:27:27Except one.
00:27:31Don't say it.
00:27:34Don't even think it.
00:27:37What are you talking about?
00:27:39Nothing.
00:27:39Nothing.
00:27:41We've gotta get this killer.
00:27:44Better assemble a new task force.
00:27:48Get some aid from the governor.
00:27:49Well, I got a lead.
00:27:51This policewoman, Theresa Mallory.
00:27:53Mallory?
00:27:55Oh, my God.
00:27:57Not her again.
00:27:59Yeah, her.
00:28:00Killed her boyfriend.
00:28:01I figure he's gonna go after her.
00:28:03I don't get it.
00:28:04He's had a lot of opportunities to kill her.
00:28:06Why hasn't he killed her?
00:28:08Maybe he enjoys making her afraid.
00:28:18I'm beginning to think maybe you're not so crazy.
00:28:21Wait.
00:28:22And you'll be out of a job, too.
00:28:25They've asked me to certify you in fit.
00:28:27But I can't do it.
00:28:32I read all about Cordell and what happened to him.
00:28:35Look, if you want more information, just tune in the criminals at large television show tonight.
00:28:39Why would you go on that show?
00:28:41Why not?
00:28:42They alert the public to wanted criminals.
00:28:44Half dozen or so have been caught or turned in as a direct result.
00:28:47And who's gonna believe you, the lunatic fringe?
00:28:50Will you come with me?
00:28:51I can't.
00:28:54What are you gonna say?
00:28:56There's my cab.
00:29:00All right, I'll go with you.
00:29:02I'll even pay for the cab.
00:29:08Oh, where to, girls?
00:29:11Mayflower Hotel.
00:29:12Sounds good to me.
00:29:29I just jumped out to get a pack of smokes.
00:29:31I hope you girls won't wait in the cold too long.
00:29:33No, it's okay.
00:29:35You know, when I saw the bag, I said this'll run to the airport.
00:29:38Guess you can't win them all.
00:29:40I don't see anyone following us, Teresa.
00:29:43Some ex-boyfriend giving you a hard time?
00:29:45Yeah, sort of.
00:29:47The shows are gonna be letting out now.
00:29:49Maybe I can beat the crosstown traffic if I cut down this way.
00:29:53No, no, stay on the busy streets.
00:29:55Hey, what's going on here?
00:29:57You ever seen one of these?
00:30:00Yeah, I seen plenty of them.
00:30:02And it usually means I ain't getting a tip.
00:30:07Damn.
00:30:08What's the matter?
00:30:09I don't know.
00:30:10I think one of my tires is going flat.
00:30:13Driver, just stay in the car.
00:30:15Don't get out.
00:30:16Are you kidding?
00:30:18Drive!
00:30:19On my rim?
00:30:20Teresa, take it easy.
00:30:21Anybody can get a flat tire.
00:30:22Look, cop or no cop, I own this cab.
00:30:25I'm not gonna fuck it up for anybody.
00:30:38Holy shit!
00:30:39You're making it worse than it has to be.
00:30:40Nobody's following us.
00:30:41Just stay in the cab.
00:30:44Just stay in the cab.
00:30:50When you left your cab to go for cigarettes, somebody must...
00:30:54Rest your tires.
00:30:56Damn kids are best.
00:31:00Where the hell are you going?
00:31:02Teresa, stop it.
00:31:03What are you doing?
00:31:05I knew it.
00:31:06I never should have let cops in my cab.
00:31:17What's the one?
00:31:18I don't know.
00:31:20What's the one?
00:31:22I don't know.
00:31:27What's the one?
00:31:34I don't know.
00:31:37I don't know.
00:31:39I can't do anything.
00:31:39No.
00:31:46I can't do anything.
00:31:52I can't do anything.
00:31:55Shut up.
00:31:56Get back!
00:32:33Oh, damn it!
00:32:46Hey!
00:33:14Oh, my God.
00:33:26No! No! Please! No! No!
00:33:35No!
00:33:37No! No! No! No!
00:34:15No! No!
00:34:18No!
00:34:48I'm just kidding.
00:34:49Oh, my God.
00:35:19Oh, my God.
00:35:49Oh, my God.
00:36:25Are you all right in there?
00:36:27Hey, who handcuffed you, lady?
00:36:30What the hell is going on?
00:36:32All right, easy does it.
00:36:34We'll get you out of there.
00:36:36Radio went for a hacksaw up here.
00:36:38We got to get these cuffs off of her.
00:36:42All right, just take it easy.
00:36:44We're going to get you out of there.
00:36:45Relax.
00:36:51You better lie still.
00:36:52Your wrist is broken.
00:36:54You better fix me up quickly.
00:36:55I've got to be on TV in a few hours.
00:36:57I'm Detective McKinney.
00:36:58I've been right inside.
00:37:01You okay?
00:37:01Hey, I was on my way to Teresa's apartment when the report came over the radio.
00:37:07So you don't have to worry about her doing any more talking.
00:37:11I'm not feeling too great about all this.
00:37:13I doubted her in the beginning, too.
00:37:17But I saw him.
00:37:18I saw what he did.
00:37:21What'd you see?
00:37:23Big guy in a bulletproof vest dressed up like a cop.
00:37:27Sean, I saw Matt Cordell.
00:37:31Tonight, criminals at large goes after a serial killer
00:37:34who's claimed the lives of beautiful young girls
00:37:37working as exotic dancers and strippers in New York City.
00:37:41And you, the audience, may help us to catch him.
00:37:45Welcome to Club 69 here in the heart of Times Square.
00:37:49I'm your emcee.
00:37:50Tonight, you'll meet detectives assigned to this case.
00:37:52But first, I would like you to meet
00:37:55Deputy Commissioner Edward Doyle of the NYPD.
00:37:58Do you want another drink?
00:37:59Just what has your department done about this case so far?
00:38:02We've contacted and alerted young women
00:38:04who seem to be the killer's prime target group.
00:38:07We have a special late guest here.
00:38:10Actually, she's one of your lady cops.
00:38:12She's also a police psychologist.
00:38:14And her name is Officer Susan Riley.
00:38:17Susan, welcome to the show.
00:38:19Mr. Brady, the murders of these exotic dancers
00:38:21is a very tragic situation.
00:38:23My concern is another series of killings going on
00:38:25that's being covered up.
00:38:26Pardon me.
00:38:27Mr. Brady, this is utterly nonsense.
00:38:29The so-called maniac cop did not drown in the river as reported.
00:38:33Well, Commissioner, what do you have to say about this?
00:38:35Well, the homicides that Officer Riley is talking about
00:38:39were deliberately set up to imitate the earlier killings.
00:38:42Then tell me something, Commissioner.
00:38:43Why has this been kept from the public and the press?
00:38:45Hmm?
00:38:47The killer craves publicity.
00:38:49We're denying him that.
00:38:50We hope that his behavior will become foolhardy.
00:38:53He'll expose himself, show himself.
00:38:55Then we expect to nail him.
00:38:57Mr. Commissioner, why don't you just admit
00:38:59that Matt Cordell is responsible for these killings?
00:39:01Cordell died in prison.
00:39:03He's brain dead but still breathing when his body was released.
00:39:06He recovered and came back to revenge himself
00:39:08upon the police department and the city officials
00:39:10who railroaded him into jail in the first place.
00:39:12You know how many people have been murdered already
00:39:14and yet the replacements still insist upon hiding the facts?
00:39:16Commissioner, we're out of time here.
00:39:18We're going to have to cut you off.
00:39:19And, Punk, if you happen to be out there listening,
00:39:22I just want you to remember this.
00:39:24When it comes time for your execution,
00:39:28UCAD Con, Con Edison, good night.
00:39:30If you have anything special,
00:39:32please speak to some of the...
00:39:35Roger, you want to give me a hand with these cables?
00:39:38Okay, E.J., let me kill you.
00:39:39Officer Riley.
00:39:48That was a pretty stupid thing you did up there, young lady.
00:39:51I'm going to see that you're suspended.
00:39:53Theresa Mallory's dead because she knew the truth.
00:39:56Let me tell you something, Commissioner.
00:39:58Cordell's going to pay you a visit and you'll see him.
00:40:01Just like I did.
00:40:03All right, here you go, E.J.
00:40:05Oh, boys, look at this, Blondie.
00:40:07This is beautiful.
00:40:08Take him out, Blondie.
00:40:09Take him out.
00:40:09Let him breathe.
00:40:10Oh, boys, aren't they?
00:40:12Lovely.
00:40:12Ooh, baby.
00:40:13And on the other side, he has Red.
00:40:15Take him out, Red.
00:40:15Let him breathe, too.
00:40:17And be generous, boys, with that cash,
00:40:19because these girls are dancing here just for you.
00:40:21Oh, let's have a round of applause,
00:40:23these two lovely young ladies.
00:40:24And don't forget, they'll be back later, boys.
00:40:26We're open 24 hours.
00:40:27Don't go nowhere.
00:40:28Hang around.
00:40:30And now, for the first time on any stage,
00:40:33the lovely Cheryl.
00:40:36Oh, let's have a big round of applause, boys.
00:40:38Come on, let's hear it for Cheryl.
00:40:40Let's take you here in the big city at Club 69.
00:40:43Isn't she lovely?
00:40:44No one has ever had this girl on the stage before.
00:40:46We always are the first one with the best talent in New York.
00:40:50So just keep your eyes on Cheryl.
00:40:52Oh, boys, tell me, isn't she lovely?
00:40:54Just keep your eyes on her.
00:40:56Definitely get an eye, folks.
00:40:58Whoa.
00:40:59Oh, good boy.
00:41:01Be generous.
00:41:02Spread out that cash.
00:41:31I'm a man who's not a man
00:41:32I'm never gonna get a part of the show
00:41:35No!
00:41:40No!
00:41:44No!
00:41:46No!
00:41:48No!
00:41:49No!
00:41:50No!
00:41:52No!
00:41:53I'm making sure
00:41:55I'm making sure

00:42:14O
00:42:15I will be trying to four
00:42:25Yes, Mom, there's plenty of room for advancement.
00:42:28Are you eating well?
00:42:29Yes, I'm getting plenty to eat. They have an employee cafeteria.
00:42:34Where are you living?
00:42:35Well, I'm sharing this lovely apartment with a few of the girls from the secretarial pool.
00:42:42Are you nice girls?
00:42:43Yeah, they're really sweet.
00:42:46Okay. Well, then, as soon as I get my phone, I'll give you a call and give you the number.
00:42:53All right. Okay. But in the meantime, please, just don't worry about me. I'm fine.
00:42:59I love you, sweetheart. Take care of yourself.
00:43:02Okay.
00:43:04Oh, and give my love to Dad.
00:43:06I will, sweetheart.
00:43:07All right. I love you.
00:43:08I love you, too. Bye.
00:43:11Bye.
00:43:15Bye.
00:43:26Of course my typing's getting better, Mom.
00:43:33Who is it?
00:43:56This is 404. Someone is trying to break into my room. I'm telling you there is somebody out there.
00:44:02And you won't wait.
00:44:03No. Please call the police. Please give me some help.
00:44:07I don't want any help. Call them or give me a light out and I'll call them myself.
00:44:11If I was in your line of work.
00:44:23I called the cops.
00:44:29They're coming, so you better get out of here.
00:44:39I'm in a dark fucking place!
00:44:44Now, you've got to listen to me. Listen to me!
00:44:46Now, I've been watching you and I say, you're asking for it. Right?
00:44:50And tell me!
00:44:51Come on!
00:44:52The police are coming.
00:44:53I don't care about no police. Is it going to take long?
00:44:55What are you going to do?
00:44:56Think about it!
00:44:57What do you think I'm going to do to you, huh?
00:44:58Come on!
00:44:59What do you think?
00:45:00What do you think?
00:45:01You killed those on the curls.
00:45:03No.
00:45:04Let's just say that I need another 8x10 glossy from my collection.
00:45:10Oh, you're trying to do some dirt to me!
00:45:13Huh, baby?
00:45:14Well, I love the way you feel.
00:45:19You've got to be proud because you're the prettiest one of my collections so far.
00:45:22You are.
00:45:23And the best thing that you clear out, you could be in a Broadway show.
00:45:26But no, you've got to be up there on that stage dancing like some orb.
00:45:30So you never know what type of person is going to walk in down, do you?
00:45:33Do you, honey?
00:45:36They stand there in the lobby. They're coming up to catch you.
00:45:39It's a slow elevator.
00:45:41This ain't going to take a minute.
00:45:45Fuck!
00:45:51Going down!
00:45:52Oh!
00:45:57Goldy!
00:45:58Holy Garr Flea!
00:46:00Ah!
00:46:01Ah!
00:46:02Don't hurt me!
00:46:03Don't hurt me!
00:46:05Ah!
00:46:26Oh, you ain't no cop, man.
00:46:28I know who you are.
00:46:29Damn, she was talking about you on TV.
00:46:31You was in the headlines last month and everything.
00:46:34See, your front page stuff.
00:46:35For me, I'm back on page five.
00:46:37You know why?
00:46:38You know what did it for you?
00:46:39That uniform.
00:46:40See, that was a gimmick.
00:46:42See, that's what got their attention.
00:46:45I've got a real nice apartment.
00:46:46I mean, it's quiet.
00:46:48Nobody ever comes down there.
00:46:49Private, you know?
00:46:51You can come there.
00:46:53I mean, I ain't queer or nothing.
00:46:54See, but you be safe there.
00:46:56And I've got a collection to show you.
00:47:08The city at night, that's where and when I do my work.
00:47:14You know, I feel like I'm a crusader against the whores of the world.
00:47:23That's me.
00:47:25Turkel, crusader tonight.
00:47:27Woo-hoo-hoo.
00:47:29You don't talk much, but that's okay.
00:47:32Was it the accident?
00:47:33Same one that screwed your face up?
00:47:37I don't mean to offend you now.
00:47:39I'm sorry if I did.
00:47:41This here's my place.
00:47:43Home sweet home.
00:47:50These are my girls.
00:47:52They ain't going to dance in front of nobody no more.
00:47:55Now they're Turkel's girls.
00:47:57My first name is Steven.
00:48:00Why don't you go ahead and sit down?
00:48:03You know, most of the time, I just talk to myself anyway.
00:48:07So it's okay.
00:48:08I mean, I don't hear voices or nothing.
00:48:12I'm not like those guys that hear angels and devils telling them what to do.
00:48:16See, I know what to do.
00:48:20Hey, have a drink.
00:48:22You hate cops.
00:48:25So, you made a fucking mockery out of them.
00:48:28I mean, for a while, everybody was scared shit.
00:48:31To walk up to a cop in this here town.
00:48:33And that was cause of you.
00:48:36You know, I never thought really that I'd meet you.
00:48:39Or that we'd become friends.
00:48:46All right.
00:48:48All right.
00:48:49Why should you trust me?
00:48:51I got to earn it.
00:48:53I got to make you respect me.
00:48:57But I think maybe you see the possibilities in me, huh?
00:49:04Can you write?
00:49:06I mean, can you write down your name?
00:49:08See, that way I'll know what to call you.
00:49:10I'll go get a pencil and paper.
00:49:18Credcle.
00:49:26Cordell.
00:49:27That's the name she said on TV.
00:49:37So, how'd you like me on TV?
00:49:41I loved you.
00:49:42I mean, I loved you in the city.
00:49:44Council was nuts about you.
00:49:46Yeah.
00:49:48Check out your reviews.
00:49:50No city's freaked over this maniac cop.
00:49:52I guess I really started something, huh?
00:49:56Maybe I should just go home and wait for the acts to fall.
00:49:59No chance.
00:50:00So, you mean I can't turn more gas shots?
00:50:03No.
00:50:04Do you think there's any reason why Cordell would want to come back and get me?
00:50:10I don't know.
00:50:11But let me tell you.
00:50:13If he doesn't shoot you, the commissioner himself might kill you.
00:50:20What?
00:50:20This, uh, stupid rhyme keeps going through my head.
00:50:24I used to say it when we were kids in Brooklyn.
00:50:26I mean, it's just nonsense, but I can't get it out of my mind.
00:50:29It goes, uh, one bright day in the middle of the night, two dead boys got up to fight.
00:50:36Back to back, they faced each other with their knives.
00:50:39They shot each other.
00:50:40Deaf policemen heard the noise and came and killed the two dead boys.
00:50:43You know that?
00:50:44Yeah, I remember that when I was a kid.
00:50:46Two dead boys.
00:50:50What about it?
00:50:52I don't know.
00:50:53I guess I'm just cracking up.
00:50:56You ought to know.
00:50:57That's your specialty.
00:50:58Yeah.
00:51:03Did you ever see anything so nasty?
00:51:16Ooh, you got a big one, too.
00:51:28Boy, they really did a job on you, Cordell.
00:51:32I mean, honest cop.
00:51:35What'd you think you'd get out of it?
00:51:37You put the squeeze on the important people, you end up in the slammer, not them.
00:51:49What happened to you?
00:51:52Why don't you tell me what happened?
00:51:56I mean, I've never seen nobody cut that bad, that deep.
00:52:03I'd still be breathing.
00:52:42I've never seen nobody cut that bad before, that's where I guess.
00:52:59I want to make a lot of water.
00:53:00I also have a lot of water in the air.
00:53:00I have a lot of water.
00:53:01I want to make a lot of water.
00:53:05I want to make a lot of water.
00:53:08Let's go.
00:53:39Let's go.
00:54:08Let's go.
00:54:09Let's go.
00:54:16Let's go.
00:54:16Let's go.
00:54:16Let's go.
00:54:16Let's go.
00:54:16Let's go.
00:54:47If he frequents such clubs, and we think he does, he might show up.
00:54:53We're going to be going in and out of these places as couples, so we need a policewoman to make
00:54:59a foursome.
00:55:00I don't have any experience in the streets.
00:55:06I don't have any experience in the streets.
00:55:29Why me?
00:55:40So you want to come in and out of these people, so you want to come in and out of
00:55:46these places, so you want to come in and out of these places?
00:55:52What difference does it?
00:55:54What difference does it?
00:56:18What difference does it make?
00:56:23Oh, you want to come in and out of these places?
00:56:25Oh, you're going someplace I can't go, huh?
00:56:26Got work to do.
00:56:28Yeah, but you're coming back, right?
00:56:30You know, I got things to do myself, but then I'll be back here waiting for you.
00:56:45What?
00:56:46I'm out of these places.
00:56:48I'm out of these places, and I'll be back here.
00:57:16How are you doing?
00:57:19$4.20
00:57:21Clear the shelf
00:57:24It's a message from the board
00:57:27Telling me to get rid of
00:57:30Girls work hard.
00:57:31Yeah, we do.
00:57:32I can make $1,000 a week.
00:57:34How much money do you make, Lieutenant?
00:57:37Maybe I ought to take dancing lessons.
00:57:40You see anybody familiar here?
00:57:42Just a bunch of regulars from the other clubs that I work,
00:57:44but I don't see him.
00:57:47Why don't we get out of here and try some bliss off?
00:57:49Why don't we have a drink?
00:57:50What the hell? We've paid for it.
00:58:07Lieutenant, it's him.
00:58:13Hey, watch it.
00:58:16Hey, look out.
00:58:30He's gonna get me one of those.
00:58:41Hey, you.
00:58:43I want to see my lawyer.
00:58:44There's no problem.
00:58:47What happened to your friend, a big cop?
00:58:49He's my friend, all right.
00:58:51And he ain't gonna forget about me.
00:58:55How did you meet Cordell?
00:58:58How'd you know his name?
00:59:03Shit.
00:59:03That girl that cold cocked me,
00:59:05she's the one from that TV show,
00:59:06Criminals at Large.
00:59:08Hey, you.
00:59:10It's gonna take more than a TV show
00:59:11to catch my friend.
00:59:18Is this your address, there, Cullen?
00:59:27Wipe your feet on a mat!
00:59:31I think we got him.
00:59:32That's great.
00:59:33You want some company?
00:59:35Haven't you seen enough action for one night?
00:59:41Why don't you go get some rest?
00:59:42No, I couldn't sleep.
00:59:44I think I'll go fire through practice rounds.
00:59:46I've never been much good with guns.
00:59:50Under the circumstances, I try to improve.
01:00:01I've never seen you in uniform before.
01:00:04I wanted to see if it still fits.
01:00:08That's not a very good shot pattern.
01:00:11Maybe you're better at shooting your mouth off on TV.
01:00:14Did they assign you to a beat yet?
01:00:15Maybe Spanish Harlem or some nice place like that?
01:00:18Maybe.
01:00:19Well, listen, Susan, just keep trying.
01:00:21You'll get to knock him in about a year or two.
01:00:23Just tell everybody that that broken arm was your good one.
01:00:26Right.
01:00:26Come on in, fellas.
01:00:57We'll buy ourselves a serial killer.
01:01:01Don't you forget me, Cordell?
01:01:07I'm waiting for you here, Cordell.
01:01:12We'll both probably end up in hell.
01:01:17You need...
01:01:19Motherfucker!
01:01:22Will you hold it down?
01:01:25Shit.
01:01:27More privacy when I get back in the motherfucking death house.
01:01:31Is that where you're going, man?
01:01:33Sing Sing?
01:01:34What the fuck are you?
01:01:35Bob Walters?
01:01:37Shit.
01:01:40Yeah.
01:01:43Motherfucking morning.
01:01:45Shit.
01:01:47I stalled them motherfuckers for five years.
01:01:50Oh, yeah.
01:01:52The Supreme Court had fucked me.
01:01:56And wouldn't even save sex.
01:01:59It's cruel and unusual punishment.
01:02:02No bullshit.
01:02:05Listenin' to assholes like you is worse.
01:02:09Hey, be nice.
01:02:11When my friend comes to break me out, I may take you with me.
01:02:16Yeah.
01:02:17I'm gonna hold my breath.
01:02:19And my dick.
01:02:25Oh, hi there, pretty lady.
01:02:28Boy, don't you look great in that uniform.
01:02:32You want me to autograph your cast?
01:02:35Look, I still want to talk to you about Cordell.
01:02:49If you want to know about him, stick around here tonight.
01:02:54You may learn something.
01:02:57What do you mean by that?
01:02:58Shit.
01:03:02Heh heh heh heh heh heh.
01:03:14Let's go.
01:03:35Let's go.
01:04:05Let's go.
01:04:35Let's go.
01:05:28Let's go.
01:05:35Is she all right?
01:05:36I don't know.
01:05:37What are we doing about this?
01:05:38We got the tactical squad on its way and a couple of SWAT teams.
01:05:41Doyle's been notified he's on his way over here to take charge.
01:05:43Take charge? That's a joke.
01:05:45You got any ideas?
01:05:46If he comes out, don't interfere with him.
01:05:49Just follow him.
01:05:50They had a reason for coming here.
01:05:51He's got a reason for everything he does.
01:05:53Ooh, what'd you do to these cops?
01:05:55I'd have loved to see it.
01:05:57See, blood?
01:05:58I told you, treat me nice.
01:06:01She's gonna get us killed.
01:06:12Hey, lady, close your eyes.
01:06:15You may see something you like.
01:06:23How come he don't talk?
01:06:25It's weird.
01:06:28Weird.
01:06:29He just handed me your transfer papers to Sing Sing.
01:06:32I ain't going back there.
01:06:34Well, I think that's what he's got in mind.
01:06:36Hey, man, they wanna kill me.
01:06:38Oh, he wouldn't let that happen to a pleasing personality like yourself.
01:06:43You've been in Sing Sing before.
01:06:44What's back there for you?
01:06:46Come on, you're a bright girl.
01:06:47Haven't you got that figured out yet?
01:06:49We're going there to break out all them guys on death row.
01:06:53There's about 20 of them up there on appeal.
01:06:55Real lovable types.
01:06:57Yes, that's what we're gonna do.
01:06:59Because we're recruiting an army.
01:07:01Aren't we?
01:07:03Sure.
01:07:04See, because it's like your thoughts are in my mind.
01:07:08I got you figured out, man.
01:07:10We ain't running away.
01:07:11Nah, we're getting stronger.
01:07:13Yeah!
01:07:13Because we got ourselves a leader.
01:07:15I don't know a part of this.
01:07:17I'm not gonna do this damn thing about it.
01:07:21Uh, say, listen.
01:07:23You gonna bring her along?
01:07:26All right, sweetheart.
01:07:27There's a jacket.
01:07:29You lead the way.
01:07:30If there's any shooting,
01:07:31you'll be the first to know about it.
01:07:37Right here.
01:07:39Come on.
01:07:43Terrific.
01:07:44She puts on a uniform and immediately gets taken hostage.
01:07:47What's up, cop?
01:07:51Why did we get back there?
01:08:01Up for cars!
01:08:31Let me give you a ride, commissioner.
01:08:32We gotta talk.
01:08:35I have my limo.
01:08:37We need to talk.
01:08:53All right, hold on, y'all.
01:08:55Here it goes.
01:09:13Ah, man!
01:09:22That's right, that's wrong.
01:09:24Don't change your shorts, baby.
01:09:26This is right, just start.
01:09:35Go, Steve, go!
01:10:02What do you think of that, little lady?
01:10:04Huh?
01:10:10I'm going in the wrong direction.
01:10:12That's the parkway up ahead.
01:10:13Same route Cordell took.
01:10:14I think I know where he's going.
01:10:16How do you know that?
01:10:17One of the escapees was scheduled for a transfer to the death house at Sing Sing.
01:10:22Cordell's making the delivery.
01:10:23He's homesick.
01:10:25How come you didn't say anything about that before?
01:10:27Because all the cops in the world can't stop Cordell.
01:10:30Only you can.
01:10:31Stop this car.
01:10:32I'm getting out.
01:10:33It's an order.
01:10:34You lost the right to make orders.
01:10:36You're going with me.
01:10:37No, no, I'm not going anywhere.
01:10:39What's the matter, Commissioner?
01:10:40You finally believe in ghosts?
01:10:42You order.
01:10:43You made him one.
01:10:44Turn this goddamn car around.
01:10:48That's a dumb fucking thing to do.
01:10:50What do you want me to do, huh?
01:10:52Shove the gun in my own mouth?
01:10:53Pull the trigger?
01:10:54That's too easy.
01:10:56I want you to reopen the Cordell case.
01:10:58Get some judge to set aside his conviction.
01:11:00And then dig up his empty coffin.
01:11:02That's right, it's going to be empty.
01:11:03Come on, come on.
01:11:03Then I want you to bury it again with a police honor guard.
01:11:05You're fucking crazy, you know that?
01:11:06Cordell got too close to you people at City Hall who were taking payoffs.
01:11:10So you framed him.
01:11:11Put him in a fucking rat hole and set him up.
01:11:13You murdered him.
01:11:13You're pushing me too far, McKinney.
01:11:15Pull over!
01:11:23You're right.
01:11:27I'm responsible.
01:11:31What am I supposed to do now?
01:11:33You signed a confession.
01:11:34I can't do that.
01:11:35I'd be through.
01:11:36When you're through now, you're not going to see retirement.
01:11:39He's going to come after you.
01:11:55You sure is pretty for a cop.
01:11:58You want to integrate?

01:15:46In your first trial, perjury was committed.
01:15:48Even the presiding judge was influenced.
01:15:51I myself was involved.
01:15:56We're the guilty ones.
01:15:58Cordell, you were a good man once.
01:16:00A good cop.

01:19:29We commend our brother Matthew to you, Lord.
01:19:31May he live on in your presence.
01:19:34In your mercy and love, forgive whatever sins he may have committed through human weakness.
01:19:40We ask this through Christ our Lord.
01:19:42Amen.
01:19:44And so the final remains of Matthew Cordell, who died three years ago, are brought to rest with honors.
01:19:54His remains have been brought here so he may be placed beside his fellow officers.
01:20:00But I feel sorrow for all of those whose deceptions and lies were responsible for this tragic death.
01:20:08That's something they'll have to contend with when they meet their maker.
01:20:15Detail.
01:20:16Attention.
01:20:18Present arms.
01:20:22Order. Arms.
01:20:24Name.
01:20:29I'll take that.
01:20:36Detail.
01:20:38Dismissed.
01:21:57There's a piece of cordel in every cop.
01:22:01Every time arresting some mutt isn't enough
01:22:04because we know they'll be back on the streets
01:22:06before we even do the paperwork.
01:22:09Every time we pull a trigger, it feels good
01:22:13because that's something the lawyers can't reverse.
01:22:17It all comes down to justice and pressure.
01:22:23There's only that much difference between a cop and a maniac cop.
01:22:35One bright day in the middle of the night
01:22:38Two dead boys are about to fight
01:22:40Back to back they faced each other
01:22:43With their knives they shot each other
01:22:46Back to reach and hurt the noise
01:22:49King and killed the two dead boys
01:23:01King and killed the three dead boys
01:23:04King and killed the two dead boys
01:23:09King and killed the three deadords
01:23:11In the middle of the night
01:23:16Disney cleared to hurt them
01:23:17King and killed the two girls
01:23:20A few Allison Cowlains did any other
01:23:31What's that?
01:23:32What's that?
01:23:36What's that?
01:23:38I think it's the maniac.
01:23:41Hold on.
01:23:43I'm here.
01:23:54You better watch out when you hear that sound.
01:23:57It means there's a million cops around.
01:23:59Once upon a time, he was a super cop.
01:24:01But the bad guy, trying to make him stop.
01:24:03They killed a million years ago, they tried to kill him.
01:24:06But he broke out now, he's the villain.
01:24:08Bullets won't hurt him, I know it sounds like John.
01:24:10Moving the ship, he's dead on the rock.
01:24:12Set him on fire, I shoot him with a crazy.
01:24:15But he'll show up into a jacuzzi.
01:24:17You can run him over, you can beat him through.
01:24:19Push him out of his head, I only ignore him.
01:24:21You better believe me if they think I'm lying.
01:24:23When he's so up here.
01:24:25So I drive, he's out for business.
01:24:27And he can't be stopped, that's why he called me.
01:24:29Or maybe he had cops.
01:24:31You better watch me.
01:24:33You better watch me.
01:24:34You better watch me.
01:24:35You better watch me.
01:24:38You better watch me.
01:24:50When he shows up!
01:25:00You're supposed to protect her!
01:25:01But when he act, it's 어떻게 get involved.
01:25:03Use the individual lady in the can from big Tim.
01:25:06So that's your chest his shoulder is clipped with the butt sets.
01:25:08Go around.
01:25:09Now if you see Ayala's поб pony up on your b disney.
01:25:10Just pick up your feet, you can miss too much
01:25:12And don't waste too time, I'm not one
01:25:14But if nobody's paying to get this account
01:25:17Don't play, you're a gon' track
01:25:18This dream's gonna settle to an early grand
01:25:21The other beat actually can't be stopped
01:25:23That's why we called him to make it out
01:25:45The Lord makes you an injustice blind
01:25:48But this cop's justice is one of a times
01:25:50He's homicide and not a justice
01:25:52But when he bust in, your ass is busted
01:25:54You won't get it till you're a billion fine
01:25:56Your minds will be dealing with Frankenstein
01:25:59He's big and others with a busted jaw
01:26:01You know he's the wrong, homin' along
01:26:03You better stay away from this man who's blue
01:26:05And don't call the cops as he'll stop them too
01:26:08They killed him once, but he came back
01:26:10He's the ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma maniac
01:26:12So when you're out on the streets, if you hear that sound
01:26:14They're climbing in, that cordell's around
01:26:17He's out for business, so he can't be stopped
01:26:19That's why they call him the maniac
01:26:21The maniac
01:26:21Rock
01:26:23Rock
01:26:25What's that?
01:26:26I don't know
01:26:27I don't know
