Watch This Grey Hulk Fan Made Concept Trailer (2026)

In this new twist on the Grey Hulk origin, Dwayne Johnson is a military man whose DNA has been altered using an experimental serum by Morgan Freeman’s Dr. Samuel Kline in order to create super-soldiers. Unlike previous versions of the Hulk, however, Johnson's Grey Hulk, also known as Joe Fixit, has had his anger replaced by calculated cold-bloodedness. Charlize Theron plays Colonel Sarah Cross, the military operative tasked with containing Johnson’s alter ego after it begins to emerge – and as opposed to being an uncontrolled beast, Johnson’s Grey Hulk is more like a cunning predator with superhuman strength, and therefore far more deadly than any other rage-filled creature due to his ability to fight with strategic planning and no moral limitations. As such, what is so scary about this rendition of the Grey Hulk is watching Johnson portray the transformation of a man who loses his emotional boundaries instead of losing his conscious state, and thus blurs the line of villain/anti-hero, and while the Grey Hulk sees humans as nothing more than obstacles to be overcome, they are perceived as people worthy of protection.

Johnson’s Grey Hulk is visually stunning as he has taken on the role of a more tactical, less physically imposing version of the traditional green-skinned version of the character; he moves with stealthy agility and in the shadows, as opposed to charging forward into battle and potentially revealing himself before he is ready. The scenes of violence will depict Johnson’s Grey Hulk utilizing the environment to his advantage to gain a strategic edge in battle, fighting smarter than stronger; and the result is going to be action-packed sequences where Johnson’s Grey Hulk utilizes his tactical genius combined with his superhuman physical abilities to create a nightmare scenario that no conventional army can possibly counter. Freeman plays Dr. Kline with the conflict of having guilt over realizing that taking anger out of the strength equation does not make for better warriors, but rather for intelligent predators who will kill efficiently with no conscience stopping them once the target resists. Theron’s Colonel Cross represents the military’s pragmatic approach to dealing with the ethics of stopping Johnson/Kane, and whether or not stopping Kane means eliminating the prototype for future super-soldiers who can help win wars, or if stopping Kane will prevent the creation of monsters who will eventually turn on their creators at the first opportunity they get. The film presents an exploration of the debate regarding nature vs. nurture through a superhero lens, and asks whether or not removing rage from gamma transformation results in controlled assets or intelligent killers who understand tactics well enough to conceal their true intentions until they have escaped and the time comes for vengeance against those who treated them as nothing mo
