00:00The Red Sea Film Foundation hosted its annual Women in Cinema Gala in the South of France on Friday during
00:07the 79th Cannes Film Festival.
00:09It celebrated six women from Morocco, Nigeria, India, Rwanda, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia,
00:15whose talent is shaping the industry in the Arab world, Africa and Asia.
00:19Oh, this is my first time. I hope the next time I come here is with a film.
00:25That's like my dream, you know, so it's that important.
00:29I think it's very important not only we are celebrating women,
00:35but we are celebrating because we have done something that is valuable,
00:41that is, I think, that is worth to be discovered.
00:46So it's ours, it's our work, it's the people we work with, we are not alone.
00:51It's the first time there have been three honorees from Africa.
00:54The Foundation's festival has showcased over 520 films from 85 countries,
01:00with the next edition due to take place in Jeddah from the 3rd to the 12th of December.
