00:02The big innovation with these reactors is that they are significantly smaller.

00:07Only about a quarter of the size of current plants.

00:10They are called SMRs, Small Modular Reactors.

00:14The idea is to take known technology and simply shrink it.

00:20A small modular reactor is going to be, because of its smaller size,

00:24the organic gas is of course going to be less.

00:26The other advantage of a small modular reactor of course is that the modular part of it

00:31means it can be assembled in a factory and then brought to the side and placed there.

00:37So that cuts a lot also on the time and the cost.

00:42More than 70 different such mini reactors are currently being developed worldwide,

00:47and many of them by complete newcomers to the industry.

00:52The biggest example is like Bill Gates, right?

00:54He founded his own company, TerraPower, who is currently behind a couple of the advanced designs.

01:00Yes, I believe it will be a game changer in the sense that it would make nuclear power more achievable

01:06and attainable for a number of countries.

01:09And some countries have high hopes for these small power plants.
