00:19One of the most expensive aircraft damaged during the war was an E-3 Sentry surveillance plane,
00:26which was hit by an Iranian drone and missile attack in Saudi Arabia.
00:30Each aircraft originally cost the Air Force about $270 million.
00:34The U.S. also lost an MQ-4C Triton spy drone, which costs about $240 million.
00:42The Navy didn't say where it crashed, referring to the incident as a mishap.
00:47Four F-15E Strike Eagle fighters were also lost.
00:51Three were destroyed by friendly fire over Kuwait in March.
00:54All six aircrews safely ejected.
00:57A fourth was shot down during combat over Iran in April.

01:07An A-10 Warthog was destroyed during the search and rescue mission for the downed F-15 crew.

01:23Congress also reported damage to an F-35A Lightning 2 Joint Strike Fighter.
01:29The stealth fighter comes with a unit cost of about $82 million and appears to be the first F-35
01:35ever damaged via enemy fire.
01:38Seven KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft were also lost or damaged.
01:44One of these crashes resulted in the deaths of six American service members, and another aircraft was forced to make
01:50an emergency landing.
01:51Five more KC-135s, each costing $40 million, were damaged at a Saudi airbase during an Iranian attack.
01:59Two MC-130J Commando II Special Operations aircraft were intentionally destroyed on the ground in Iran because they got stuck
02:08during the search and rescue operation for a downed F-15 pilot.
02:11Each is worth about $114 million.
02:14And since the start of the war with Iran, the U.S. has also lost 24 MQ-9 Reaper drones.
02:21Just one of these comes with a price tag of about $30 million.
02:24In the report, Congress said it was unclear whether the Defense Department had provided it with an accounting of all
02:30the lost aircraft,
02:31information with a budgetary impact that may be essential to Congress's oversight role.
