00:00AI, like ChatGPT, has left many of us wondering what job artificial intelligence is going to take next.
00:06But now, according to a survey by digital insight company Sint,
00:10not only are many more workers using AI to do their jobs than you might think,
00:13but they're also doing it secretly, afraid to tell their bosses they're doing so.
00:18According to the survey, 62% of workers with less than 15 years of experience have used AI.
00:23That's compared to just 31% of those with more than 15 years experience,
00:27showing that the use of AI already skews younger.
00:31But despite using it, the survey found that more than half of the companies where those surveyed work
00:35don't have an official policy on AI, making its use a bit of a question mark.
00:39The survey discovered that while more than 30% of workers were generally afraid to tell their direct bosses
00:44they were using AI for their jobs, young people were even less inclined to come clean,
00:48with 42% of Gen Zers surveyed saying they were using AI and afraid to tell their managers they were
00:54doing so.
00:54And it makes sense according to Ruth Mortimer.
00:56Advertising Week Europe's global president.
00:59According to her, quote,
01:00Whilst it can be hugely additive, often artificial intelligence has come with an association
01:04that it is likely to remove human jobs rather than enhance them.
01:08So it can feel to workers that they may be taking themselves out of a role if they ask to
01:12use AI.
