The main road linking Lahad Datu and Tawau was cut off after a 50m stretch along Jalan Silam in Lahad Datu, Sabah collapsed on Friday (May 15).

00:00A 50-metre stretch along Jalan Silam in Lahad Datu collapsed on Friday afternoon,
00:05cutting off the main road linking Lahad Datu and Tawau.
00:09Lahad Datu District Officer Firuz Idzualdin, alias Benetti Muhammad Zul,
00:14said the road is temporarily impassable with no alternative route currently available between the two districts.
00:21He said the Public Works Department carried out temporary road diversion works to allow traffic flow to resume,
00:28with the two-lane diversion completed at 6.20pm and the road reopened to motorists.
00:34He said motorists should exercise caution when passing through the affected area
00:40and follow instructions from security personnel and authorities on site.
00:45He urged the public to plan their journey earlier due to expected traffic congestion.
