00:10State Infrastructure and Transport Committee Chairman Zairil Kirjohari said the Penang Development Corporation

00:18has applied a premix patch to raise the road surface and installed warning signs to alert motorists of the uneven road to prevent accidents.

00:27The subsidence was reported on Thursday at the junction between the existing road and a newly constructed bridge following public complaints.

00:36Zairil said the root cause of the issue is still under investigation.

00:40PDC and the contractor are expected to carry out excavation works to identify the underlying cause before implementing permanent repairs,

00:49which may include the use of basal reinforcement with geotextile materials.

00:53Zairil said additional steps will also be taken to strengthen the road structure and prevent future subsidence.

01:00All repair costs will be fully borne by the contractor as the works fall within the defects liability period.
