00:00I mean, it looks like things have gone pretty well there in Beijing.
00:04The only tense moment that everyone seems to have detected seemed to relate to Taiwan
00:09with President Xi warning that mishandling of that issue could lead to conflict.
00:15How seriously should we take language like that from Beijing?
00:20Well, we should certainly take it seriously, but it's nothing new.
00:23Even the words the President Xi used, his tone, they've been used by Chinese leaders in the past.
00:30This is a serious issue.
00:32I think what's interesting is the Chinese have focused on that,
00:36but the U.S. readouts have barely mentioned Taiwan at all.
00:39So clearly both sides have very different worldviews and very different agendas going into these meetings.
00:47And I have to point out that the most important meetings are yet to come.
00:50This is a small group meeting with President Xi and President Trump.
00:55It may end up being even one-on-one.
00:57That's the kind of meeting President Trump likes, the kind of meeting where he does real business.
01:02So we'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out where any tension points are
01:06and where any agreements might have come from, because I would expect some agreements as well.
