00:00Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today said Malaysia would not consider any pardon application
00:05involving fugitive businessman Loh Teg Jo, also known as Jo Loh.
00:10Anwar said the matter was a non-issue for the Malaysian government
00:14as court proceedings involving Loh were still ongoing, Renama reported.
00:19As if the government would formally oppose any move by the US regarding the matter,
00:24Anwar said, as far as we are concerned, we are not going that route,
00:28but of course what the US decides is their own business.
00:32He also said he was unaware of any pardon application submitted by Loh.
00:37Two days ago, foreign media reported that Loh, who is accused by the US of masterminding
00:43one of the largest financial frauds in history, allegedly filed a pardon application
00:48to the US President Donald Trump several weeks ago.
00:52According to the report, approval of the application would result in the US criminal charges
00:57against Loh being dropped.
