00:00Ah, yes, Thursday edition of Shine Time.
00:02Our Paul Schwartz is an exclusive copy
00:06of the New York football Giants NFL schedule for 2026.
00:10We're going to tell you exactly how many games
00:13the Giants are going to win.
00:14Buckle up, buttercup.
00:16The refs got it right in Detroit last night.
00:19And everything's coming up next.
00:22Shine Time starts right now.
00:30I think the Giants are going to be a really strong team this year.
00:34Eight to ten wins.
00:36I love John Harbaugh.
00:37What are your expectations?
00:39I think maybe more.
00:41Wow, I love that.
00:43I think this might be an 11 or 12 win team.
00:46I really do.
00:48That, of course, the interview with our friend Peter Schrager
00:51from ESPN yesterday here on Shine Time.
00:54The interview that was sweeping the nation,
00:56a trending topic on X and all over social media,
01:01Peter Schrager had a giant Shine Time prediction
01:04for the New York football Giants, 11 or 12 wins.
01:08And today is schedule release day.
01:11Happy NFL schedule release day to you and yours.
01:14We are extra fired up.
01:16And you would have to be a buffoon, a fool, a moron,
01:21to look at a schedule on schedule release day
01:24and go through it game by game and start predicting wins.
01:27Well, schedule release officially tonight at 8 Eastern.
01:33But this, this right here,
01:35this is a copy, an exclusive copy
01:39of the New York football Giants schedule,
01:43courtesy of the Giants beat reporter
01:46for the New York Post, the great Paul Schwartz.
01:50So let's go through the games
01:51and then I'm going to give you predictions, okay?
01:54You see it right there.
01:55Giants are in prime time, by the way,
01:58to start the season on back-to-back weeks.
02:02That tells you all you need to know
02:05in terms of what the league thinks about the Giants.
02:08Obviously, New York City, market number one.
02:11John Harbaugh equals credibility.
02:14Jackson Dart, must-see TV.
02:16So how about that?
02:18Giants start the season with the two teams
02:21that I believe going into schedule release
02:25are the two most likely to play
02:28on Championship Sunday in the NFC,
02:30Cowboys and the Rams.
02:31So that is not an easy start,
02:34but I do love the fact that the NFL
02:36looks at the Giants and says,
02:38you know what, we need these teams.
02:41We need these teams at the end of the day
02:45to be playing in prime time.
02:48We need the Giants going up against the Cowboys.
02:50Giants going up against the Rams.
02:52I am obsessed with this.
02:54I can't get enough.
02:55That is a terrific credit to Harbaugh.
02:59Terrific job when you look at it by the NFL.
03:02And that is a monster credit here
03:04when you look at it to the National Football League.
03:07So you have the Cowboys on the ramps in prime time,
03:10Sunday night football, Monday night football,
03:12home game, and then in Los Angeles, SoFi.
03:15Then the Tennessee Titans and the Arizona Cardinals.
03:18Nice, relatively softer stretch.
03:21Week three, week four at home.
03:24Washington, who I do not believe
03:25is going to be strong this year.
03:27The Saints, and I do think the Saints
03:29can win the division in the South,
03:32but that is not a juggernaut team,
03:34and that's a home game at MetLife.
03:36Texans are a really difficult team,
03:39and that's a tough one, obviously,
03:41in Houston against that defense.
03:43Bye week in the middle of the season,
03:44that's important here when you start analyzing
03:47a team in which you look for on schedule release.
03:50In Philly, that's going to be tough.
03:52And then you see the back-to-back weeks
03:54where you have the NFC East teams
03:56with the Eagles,
03:57and then a short week at home
03:59against Washington.
04:01A couple of AFC South teams
04:04that are going to be interesting
04:05with Jacksonville and Indianapolis.
04:07That's a road game in Indy.
04:08Niners at home in Seattle,
04:10NFC West foes.
04:12Then Cleveland at home.
04:15Another prime-time game
04:16with the Detroit Lions.
04:18So that's going to be four prime-time games
04:20for the Giants,
04:21which is a monster credit to the organization.
04:23Feels about right.
04:24Then they finish the season.
04:26Look at that stretch at the Dallas Cowboys
04:29and a home against the Philadelphia Eagles.
04:32So that stretch in Detroit at Dallas,
04:35and then Philly, that's going to be tough.
04:37Now, let's go through this game by game,
04:40and we're going to give you predictions.
04:43First of all,
04:44I think the Giants are going to beat the Dallas Cowboys.
04:46That's number one.
04:47It's a home game.
04:48I love Dallas.
04:49I'm obsessed with the Cowboys offseason.
04:51I have Dallas winning the NFC East,
04:53but I think that's a game
04:55Jackson darts.
04:56Bright lights are on.
04:57I think Jackson darts and company get it done.
05:00Giants pass rush is legit.
05:02I'm fired up about Reese.
05:04I think you're going to see the Giants
05:06on opening night
05:07with Dallas coming to town.
05:09A lot of newbies on that Dallas defense,
05:12and I think it's going to be great.
05:14Getting a new defense
05:15with a first-time coordinator week one
05:17to me is a monster advantage for the Giants.
05:20So I have them starting the season 1-0.
05:22I have them losing in Los Angeles,
05:24beating the Titans,
05:25beating the Cardinals.
05:26I have them beating the Washington commanders.
05:30I think that they will take care of business.
05:32I am not high on Washington this year.
05:34I know that's a road win,
05:35but I think they will go ultimately
05:37four and two in the division.
05:39I have them beating the Saints.
05:41I have them losing in Houston.
05:43Then the bye.
05:44I have them losing in Philadelphia,
05:47beating Washington.
05:49I'm going to have them splitting
05:51against the Jags and the Colts.
05:54I'm going to have the Giants
05:56beating the San Francisco 49ers.
05:58That's a home game.
05:59I think the Giants have been so bad,
06:02so boring,
06:03so nondescript for so long at MetLife.
06:05That's a coast-to-coast spot
06:07and situation for San Francisco
06:09going to MetLife Stadium.
06:10I think the Giants should be ready
06:12for something like this.
06:13I have them losing in Seattle.
06:15I have them ultimately beating
06:17a team like Cleveland.
06:19Look, I don't think the Lions
06:21are going to be great this year,
06:22but for the sake of this conversation
06:24in the month of May,
06:25I'm going to have them losing in Detroit.
06:28I have them losing in Dallas.
06:31And I have them beating
06:34Saquon Barkley
06:35and the Philadelphia Eagles
06:36in Week 18 of the NFL season.
06:39So, you do the math on this,
06:42and I have the Giants winning 10 games.
06:46The New York football Giants
06:48winning 10, losing 7,
06:51which to me would be a monster success
06:54when you look at it for Big Blue
06:56and for Coach Harbaugh
06:58and John Harbaugh's first season.
07:00I think every Giants fan alive right now
07:03would sign up for that.
07:04Frankly, I think they're closer to 11
07:07than they are to 9
07:09when you go through the schedule.
07:11I think the Giants, on paper,
07:13are going to be dynamite this year.
07:15Love what they did in the offseason.
07:17Love all the former Ravens
07:19they brought in.
07:20Love Jackson Dart.
07:22I'm a big believer in that year-two jump
07:24at the quarterback position
07:26when things start to settle down,
07:28and you're not going through
07:30the draft process and the combine,
07:31and you're drinking through a fire hose.
07:34I think Dart's going to have
07:35a terrific season.
07:36Giants have their quarterback.
07:37He's got to learn how to protect his body
07:38and needs to learn how to get out of bounds.
07:40But I am really fired up about this,
07:43and I have the New York football Giants
07:45winning 10 games for the 2026 NFL season.
07:49To the NBA,
07:50where Cleveland kept giving the ball away
07:53to Detroit,
07:53and then the Pistons gave the game away
07:56to the Cavs.
07:59Pawner to Mitchell.
08:00Fakes.
08:01Sidestep.
08:01Three-pointer.
08:02It's good.
08:03Donovan Mitchell.
08:04Huge three-pointer.
08:05His first of the game.
08:06He was 0 for 7.
08:08On the turnover.
08:09Stoose comes up with it.
08:10Inside to Mitchell.
08:11Banks at home.
08:12Tough loss.
08:13Obviously, we wanted to protect our home court.
08:16We failed to do that.
08:18You know, being up 3-2
08:19is an advantage for them.
08:22It's first of four wins, though.
08:24We know that.
08:25We've had our back against the wall before.
08:27And at the end of the day,
08:28I mean, if we can't win a game on the road,
08:30how far are we really going to get in the playoffs?
08:32How far are we going to get in this league?
08:33So, we've got to go win a game on the road.
08:36That's what we're going to go do.
08:37Look, Cade Cunningham is not happy,
08:39and I don't blame him.
08:40I mean, that was an absolute meltdown.
08:43That was a choke.
08:45The Pistons pissed down their collective legs last night.
08:47That was a disaster.
08:49And look, I feel like I'm the only guy in America
08:53with this take, but I don't care.
08:55I thought that Tony Brothers and his crew
08:57got it right at the end of the game
09:00when you take a look at what transpired
09:02with that foul call or non-foul call.
09:05Because that, to me,
09:06was just absolutely the right thing to do
09:08in that spot, in that moment.
09:10When you look at that play, honestly,
09:14I don't even understand the opposite side
09:18of the equation, okay?
09:20Because when you look at Allen
09:22and you take a look at Thompson
09:23and you see it right here,
09:25that is quintessential incidental contact.
09:29That's what that is.
09:30That is absolute non-call.
09:32We talk about it all the time
09:34in all different sports.
09:35You don't want refs.
09:36You don't want officials.
09:37Ultimately, at the end of the day,
09:38to insert themselves into a conversation
09:41and put them in a game
09:43where it's about the refs show
09:44and look at me,
09:46that's basketball.
09:48They collided.
09:49It wasn't a Draymond Green kind of trip.
09:51It just was what it was.
09:53It's unfortunate for Detroit,
09:55but honestly, at the end of the day,
09:57that is not a call you make.
09:59That was, and it's not sexy to say,
10:02a terrific job by the refs.
10:04They nailed it.
10:06We'd be going nuts
10:07if they called a foul in that spot.
10:09And frankly, if any Pistons fan
10:11is arguing that,
10:12that's just because you're livid.
10:14You had the lead.
10:16They were up by double digits
10:17playing at home.
10:18They were up by nine
10:20with a little over two minutes to go.
10:22And they couldn't put the ball in the ocean.
10:24Just absolutely positively awful
10:26when you look at it.
10:27So I thought it was just
10:29a complete and utter terrible loss
10:31by Detroit.
10:32I thought it was phenomenal
10:34by Cleveland.
10:35I thought Cleveland
10:36played terrific ball
10:37when it mattered the most.
10:39And listen,
10:40I thought that James Harden,
10:42who I've been killing,
10:43James, and I stand by everything.
10:45Those are more facts
10:46than they are opinions
10:47when it comes to James Harden.
10:49I genuinely think
10:50that when you look at it,
10:52Harden played a terrific game.
10:53And he's been fantastic
10:55in the last three.
10:56And I know that Harden
10:57had six turnovers.
10:59I don't care.
11:00I stress what's on the screen right here.
11:0230 points,
11:03eight rebounds,
11:03six assists.
11:04Donovan Mitchell
11:05was phenomenal
11:08in overtime.
11:09And I thought
11:10Max Struess
11:11was the MVP.
11:13I thought his defense
11:14was fantastic.
11:15That steal on Cade
11:16at the end
11:17was absolutely terrific.
11:19I thought that
11:20he was incredibly tough
11:21all game long
11:22on defense.
11:23Eight rebounds,
11:2420 points.
11:25I thought Allen was great.
11:27I thought Mobley was great.
11:28This was just a terrific job.
11:31A tremendous job
11:33when you look at it
11:34when it comes to the toughness
11:35of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
11:37And listen,
11:38this matchup,
11:39these teams,
11:40we always talk about the Pistons
11:41when it comes to toughness.
11:42And they've dealt with a lot here.
11:44Down 3-1
11:45against Orlando,
11:47clawing back
11:47in the fashion that they did.
11:49What they did in Game 5,
11:50most especially Game 6,
11:52and then bludgeoning the Magic
11:53in Game 7
11:54to make the Magic disappear.
11:56I mean,
11:56this was wild.
11:58I mean,
11:58this was a pick'em game,
12:00in my opinion,
12:00going in.
12:01But up 9-2
12:02and change to go.
12:03The game was on ESPN.
12:04The ESPN win probability
12:06was 98%
12:08for the Pistons
12:09at that moment
12:10in that juncture
12:10in the game.
12:11That is a dreadful collapse.
12:13Jared Dern was benched.
12:15I mean,
12:15just insane.
12:16And not insane
12:17that he was benched.
12:18Had to be benched.
12:18Minus 16
12:19in the plus minus.
12:21Nobody helped out
12:22my guy,
12:22Cade Cunningham.
12:23I'm not even going to
12:23criticize him
12:24for a couple of mistakes late.
12:26I mean,
12:27Cade Cunningham
12:28was phenomenal.
12:30I mean,
12:30look at this.
12:3139 points,
12:327 rebounds,
12:339 assists.
12:33Absolutely,
12:34positively incredible.
12:36I loved every single
12:37second of that.
12:38And other than Jenkins,
12:39I don't think anybody else
12:40was a positive here
12:42in any way,
12:43shape,
12:43or form.
12:43So,
12:44look,
12:45this,
12:46I don't want to hear
12:46about the refs.
12:47I'm blaming the refs.
12:48I don't want to hear it.
12:50Detroit had ample opportunities
12:51to win,
12:52and I thought that
12:53the non-call was the right call
12:55at the end of regulation
12:56by Tony Brothers and his crew
12:58at the end of the Cavs
13:00and the Pistons regulation
13:01before Donovan Mitchell
13:02took over
13:03in overtime last night.
13:05Meanwhile,
13:07the Knicks waits patiently.
13:09Here's Jalen Brunson
13:10on how New York
13:11is staying sharp
13:11in the driver's seat.
13:13I think we have our plan.
13:19obviously utilize rest,
13:21but then
13:23when we're in the gym,
13:24no,
13:25we're doing everything
13:26we have to do
13:26to stay in rhythm,
13:28stay having the edge
13:30that we need to have,
13:33focusing on the things
13:34that we need to focus on.
13:35Love that
13:36from Jalen Brunson.
13:38And that's why
13:38he is the ultimate captain,
13:40ultimate winner,
13:41ultimate New York City
13:42superstar,
13:43and you just trust
13:45Jalen Brunson.
13:47Look,
13:47the rest versus rust thing
13:49is honestly,
13:50at the end of the day,
13:51real,
13:52especially when
13:53the Knicks,
13:55Knicks fans,
13:56have literally never been
13:57through something like this.
13:59Where the Knicks,
14:00when you look at it,
14:01starting with game four
14:02against Atlanta
14:03through game four
14:04against the Philadelphia 76ers,
14:06the Knicks are right now
14:08on a heater.
14:09The Knicks have,
14:10in my lifetime,
14:12right,
14:12have never played like this
14:14in such a dominant fashion
14:16in the postseason.
14:16They've won before
14:17in terms of series
14:19and games
14:20and the Knicks in the 90s,
14:21but they've never
14:22looked like this.
14:23So I appreciate
14:24the rest versus rust
14:26conversation.
14:26It's the kind of thing
14:27that would make you nervous,
14:28but I think because
14:30Bridges has won a championship
14:31and obviously
14:32you have Brunson
14:33and Hardwood have won
14:34championships in college
14:35and Mike Brown's
14:37done a great job
14:37and the role players
14:38Deuce and Mitchell Robinson
14:39have stepped up brilliantly.
14:41I think there's
14:42a pretty awesome trust.
14:44The way Karl-Anthony Towns
14:46is playing,
14:46honestly,
14:48I just think that
14:49Cat averaging
14:50eight assists a game
14:51has been incredible
14:52when you look at it
14:53in the Philadelphia series.
14:55And I think that
14:56all that matters here,
14:59OG's health.
15:00OG Ananobi
15:01and his health
15:02and making sure
15:03he's ready to rock and roll,
15:05that's what ultimately
15:06supersedes
15:07and trumps the
15:08rust versus rust conversation.
15:10I think that last night,
15:13frankly,
15:14was a win for the Knicks.
15:15And I want to be clear on this.
15:17I think the Knicks
15:18beat either team.
15:21Which one's the better
15:22opponent for the Knicks?
15:23Either one.
15:24Bring it on.
15:25Knicks are going to beat them.
15:25Knicks are absolutely
15:26going to beat Detroit,
15:27absolutely going to beat Cleveland.
15:29I think that
15:30you'd rather play Cleveland
15:31if you're the Knicks
15:32because you would be at home.
15:34You have home court advantage.
15:35I think that Cleveland,
15:37if and when they win this series,
15:39and now,
15:39I expect Cleveland
15:41to win this series
15:42because
15:43they haven't lost
15:44at home yet
15:46in the playoffs.
15:47And game six
15:48is Friday night.
15:49And I love what Kenny Atkinson,
15:51the Cavs coach,
15:51had to say after the game
15:53where
15:53they're going to treat this
15:55like it's a must win
15:56for Cleveland.
15:58I think that was
15:58supremely smart.
16:00Now, those are words
16:01if they lose,
16:01that could come back
16:02and bite them
16:03because they have to go
16:04back to Detroit
16:05and play a game seven.
16:07But stay with me on this
16:08from a Knicks perspective.
16:10If Cleveland wins,
16:12and I've just been
16:12openly rooting
16:13as a Knicks fan
16:14here on Shine Time
16:15for a length
16:16of a series, right?
16:18And the Knicks
16:19against Detroit,
16:20Detroit doesn't have
16:20a second score.
16:21Knicks would win.
16:22But Detroit is tough.
16:24Cade Cunningham is special.
16:25Pistons have always
16:26played well
16:26last couple years
16:27against the Knicks.
16:28Regular season,
16:29which feels like
16:29a lifetime ago.
16:30Knicks are playing
16:30better than they did
16:31at any point.
16:31in the regular season.
16:33You know,
16:33I think that Knicks
16:34would have to go
16:35on the road,
16:36obviously.
16:36Game one,
16:37game seven,
16:37would have to be
16:38in Detroit.
16:39But I think
16:40at this stage,
16:41right now,
16:42I put a lot of thought
16:43into this after watching
16:44the game last night.
16:45I think if the Cavs
16:46won Friday night,
16:48that would be terrific
16:49for the Knicks.
16:50Terrific.
16:51First of all,
16:52there's a report
16:53from our Steph Bondi
16:54that OG's gonna be ready,
16:55and that's energizing,
16:57that's exciting.
16:58The Knicks expect them
16:59to be able to go.
17:00That's all that matters here.
17:03Also, if the Cavs win
17:05on Friday night,
17:07and it's gonna be joy,
17:09jubilation, games in Cleveland,
17:11celebration, pop champagne,
17:14fly to New York
17:15on very little sleep
17:17on Saturday morning,
17:19and then there'll be
17:20a game one
17:21at Madison Square Garden
17:23on Sunday afternoon
17:25or early evening.
17:26So, that to me
17:28would actually be
17:30amazing for the Knicks.
17:31I'm gonna amend my take
17:33that I'm rooting
17:34for seven games.
17:35And again,
17:36whatever the scenario is,
17:37Knicks are winning
17:38the Eastern Conference Finals.
17:39But I'm going to amend
17:41my take,
17:42if you're asking me
17:43in my fandom
17:44heart of hearts
17:45what I'm rooting for,
17:47give me the Cavs
17:47in game six,
17:48because I think
17:50that will help the Knicks
17:51get home court, obviously.
17:53And this way,
17:54they'll get the party
17:55started instantly.
17:56You could hear it
17:57from Josh Hart
17:58and Jalen Brunson
17:59talking to the press yesterday.
18:01These guys are ready
18:02to play ball.
18:03So, as long as
18:04OG Ananobi
18:05is gonna be ready
18:06to rock and roll,
18:07I'm kind of,
18:08from a Knicks perspective,
18:09rooting for Cleveland
18:10Friday night.
18:11So, this way,
18:13at the end of the day,
18:14we could see
18:15Knicks-Cavs game one
18:17on Sunday.
18:19And I think the Knicks
18:20would get game one started
18:21just like they did
18:23against Philadelphia
18:24and find a way
18:25to win that game
18:26by seven to ten points.
18:28Now, Jalen Brunson
18:28was asked about
18:29not getting the ball
18:30down the stretch
18:30of big games.
18:31His answer was spectacular.
18:34Some stars might push back.
18:36They used to have
18:37the ball in their hands
18:39and might take it
18:40as maybe a slight,
18:43but it doesn't sound
18:44like you did.
18:45Why was that something
18:47that you were so happy
18:48that you were so happy
18:48to win?
18:49One, I'm not a star.
18:50Two, I want to win.
18:51I mean, first of all,
18:53that's why Jalen Brunson
18:54is the best.
18:55He is a star,
18:56and I get that he wants to win,
18:58and that's why he is
18:59the best kind of star,
19:01a superstar,
19:01who just cares about
19:03winning championships
19:04and winning games.
19:06And, listen,
19:07Carl Anthony Towns
19:08and Brunson knows this
19:09when Cat is confident
19:10and doing his thing
19:11and playing a little
19:13point center
19:14and getting those
19:15seven-eight assists
19:17a game just like he did
19:18in the Philly series.
19:19That puts the Knicks
19:21in the best possible position
19:22to go out
19:24and kick ass
19:25and take names.
19:26So that's another example
19:27of why Jalen Brunson
19:29is the best,
19:29the ultimate New York City star,
19:31and another example
19:33of trust
19:34when it comes
19:35to the Knicks
19:37and why you believe
19:39this year is different.
19:40You'll watch Brunson play,
19:42you'll listen to him talk,
19:43you'll understand
19:44that singular focus.
19:46You credit Mike Brown
19:46for it, obviously,
19:47and we have to make sure
19:48we give the coach credit,
19:49but it starts and stems
19:51from the captain,
19:52from Jalen Brunson,
19:53saying the right things,
19:54doing the right things,
19:55and honestly,
19:56I can't get enough.
19:58Back to the NFL.
19:59Schedule release day
20:00is a holiday,
20:01and in that vein,
20:02is there anything that says
20:04holiday more than football?
20:05Thanksgiving,
20:06and my guy,
20:07the great John Madden?
20:08Look at the size of this turkey.
20:09Now there,
20:10there is a turkey.
20:12You know,
20:12we got some legs on there.
20:14I mean,
20:14here's a leg,
20:14here's a leg,
20:15then we got three here,
20:17we got three here,
20:18you got the turkey
20:19on the outside,
20:20then you stuff the turkey
20:21with a duck,
20:22and then you stuff
20:23the duck with a chicken.
20:24So it's tur-duck-gin.
20:26Yeah,
20:27it can't be that heavy.
20:30The way those guys are carrying,
20:31it looks like
20:32they're carrying an elephant.
20:33And now we have security.
20:34I can't believe that.
20:36Gary,
20:36you get the turkey leg,
20:38and Jerry,
20:38you get the whole turkey.
20:40You get the whole bird.
20:41I knew you was
20:42saying the whole thing,
20:43John.
20:44I want to talk to John Madden
20:45and Pat Summerall.
20:46That's the problem.
20:46You got it.
20:47There's no place
20:48that I would rather be
20:50than right here with you
20:51at this time,
20:52and it doesn't get
20:53any better than that.
20:53Man, I have the chills.
20:56That's amazing.
20:56I was always obsessed
20:57with John Madden
20:58and Pat Summerall,
20:59and they were the definition
21:01of a big game
21:02in Thanksgiving football,
21:03and I had the opportunity
21:05to work with John Madden,
21:06host a show with him
21:08for a decade on Sirius XM,
21:10and talking to him
21:11about the meaning
21:11of Thanksgiving football
21:13and the meaning of
21:14Turducken,
21:15just incredible.
21:16And I'll tell you,
21:17when John says right there,
21:19it doesn't get any better
21:20than this,
21:21I think he was kind of
21:22talking about it
21:23ahead of the curve.
21:24This slate,
21:25which the league made official
21:27before our scheduled release
21:28when it comes to
21:30the Thanksgiving slate of games.
21:32This is the greatest slate
21:34of games we've ever seen
21:36in the history
21:37of Thanksgiving football.
21:38First of all,
21:39what you want on Thanksgiving?
21:41Real hate.
21:42You're going to have rivalries galore.
21:45Bears,
21:46Lions,
21:47are you kidding me?
21:48Ben Johnson,
21:50the former offensive coordinator
21:51for Detroit,
21:52going to the Bears last year
21:55to be their head coach,
21:56back to Detroit,
21:57taking his shiny new toy,
21:59Caleb Williams,
22:00into Motown on Thanksgiving.
22:02That is going to be unbelievable.
22:04Cowboys, Eagles,
22:05I mean,
22:06that is a ratings bonanza.
22:08That's going to be amazing.
22:10Football,
22:11two terrific teams,
22:12stars all over the field.
22:14That's going to be incredible.
22:15And how about the night game?
22:18Look,
22:18when I say rivalries,
22:19right,
22:19and I love that
22:20with Lions and Bears,
22:21division foes,
22:22same with the Cowboys
22:23and the Eagles.
22:24You want real hates
22:25on the holiday.
22:27You've got
22:28Small Holmes
22:29and Josh Allen.
22:30This is the best
22:31quarterback matchup
22:32in the entire league.
22:33It's Brady
22:34and Manning
22:34times 10.
22:35This is what you live for.
22:37And these guys need each other
22:39in terms of their legacies,
22:41just like Manning and Brady
22:42when they were playing
22:43against each other.
22:44So that's unbelievable.
22:45I can't get enough.
22:46You can color me obsessed
22:47with that.
22:48And it's just about
22:50as great as it gets.
22:51You've got to think
22:52about a family
22:52on Thanksgiving.
22:53I mean,
22:54that's, you know,
22:55the turkey
22:55and the stuffing
22:56and the cornbread
22:58and the mashed potatoes
22:59and the gravy
22:59and the pumpkin pie.
23:00Got to have pumpkin pie
23:01on Thanksgiving.
23:02Not that it's the best pie,
23:03but it's just history
23:04and tradition.
23:04We're going to get
23:05Josh Allen
23:06and Patrick Mahomes
23:07on Thanksgiving.
23:10Wow!
23:10That's unbelievable.
23:12That's incredible.
23:13And, you know,
23:13any way you want to slice it,
23:15those are the two best
23:15quarterbacks in the NFL.
23:18Now,
23:18for the first time ever,
23:19NFL is adding
23:21a Thanksgiving Eve game
23:23on Netflix.
23:25And that's going to be
23:25the Rams
23:26and the Packers.
23:27And, listen,
23:29here's an interesting one,
23:31okay?
23:31First of all,
23:32why does the NFL
23:33schedule games
23:34on all over the place,
23:35holidays,
23:36Black Friday,
23:37Thanksgiving Eve,
23:38Christmas Day?
23:38Why do they do it?
23:39Because they can.
23:40And the ratings
23:41are going to be great.
23:42The streaming numbers
23:43are going to be amazing.
23:44The buzz is going
23:44to be fantastic.
23:46I do think this one's
23:48a little interesting here
23:49for a couple
23:50of different reasons.
23:51You know,
23:51a lot of people,
23:52and I'll raise my hands,
23:54travel that day.
23:55My wife is from Baltimore.
23:57We live in New York.
23:58We travel every single year
24:01on the Wednesday
24:02before Thanksgiving.
24:03That is also,
24:04for a lot of people,
24:06and it's all over the map
24:07in terms of ages here,
24:09that is a great Super Bowl
24:12for your social calendar.
24:14That is a holiday
24:15for a lot of people
24:16in terms of going out.
24:18Whether you're a college kid
24:19coming home,
24:20and you want to see
24:21old friends,
24:22whether you grew up
24:24in a different area
24:25than you live,
24:26and you travel,
24:27and you want to make sure
24:28that you go to your favorite bar
24:30and see friends,
24:31that is usually a big
24:34going out kind of night.
24:36Now, does the NFL care?
24:37Obviously not.
24:38Will the bar you go to
24:40have Netflix?
24:40Maybe you care.
24:41Maybe you don't.
24:42Now, I'll be home.
24:44I'll be wearing my slippers.
24:45I'll be drinking my tea.
24:46I'll be watching the Rams
24:48and watching the Packers,
24:49but I do think
24:51that's an interesting one
24:52in terms of,
24:54well, you've got to,
24:55you know, say goodbye
24:55to your friends and family
24:56for an entire three-day stretch
24:58where you're going to have
24:59that Wednesday night game,
25:01the three games on Thursday,
25:02and then the to-be-announced
25:04game on Black Friday,
25:05which has been terrific
25:06in the afternoon.
25:07So, and that game
25:08will be on Amazon.
25:09So, Netflix always does it big.
25:11I love that they have
25:11another game.
25:12Why does the NFL do it?
25:14Because they can,
25:15but that's going to be
25:16an interesting one to follow
25:18in terms of the buzz
25:20for the Rams
25:21and in terms of
25:23the Green Bay Packers.
25:24First ever Thanksgiving Eve game
25:26in the National Football League.
25:28From one of the worst
25:30travel weeks of the year
25:31to the worst upcoming travel
25:33schedule of the NFL season,
25:35the San Francisco 49ers.
25:39That is absolutely positively
25:41when you look at it,
25:43as bad as it gets
25:45when it comes to San Francisco.
25:47I mean, look at that.
25:50Look at that.
25:51The fact that they have
25:52two international games,
25:56I mean, that's crazy.
25:59The 49ers got shafted.
26:00If I'm a 49er fan,
26:02I am not happy.
26:05Kyle Shanahan talked to the press
26:07at the owners' meetings.
26:08He threw a lot of sarcasm
26:12into the proceedings,
26:13so he didn't say anything
26:15where you could quote him
26:15and say, oh, he's anti this.
26:17He just said it
26:18in a very sarcastic way.
26:19You know, I'll be paying attention
26:21to see who the Niners play
26:23after and before these games,
26:25where the bye week comes in
26:27when we get that full schedule
26:28released later on tonight.
26:30From the schedule to the players
26:32who actually have to play the games,
26:33and we're starting to see
26:35a resurgence at one particular
26:37skilled position.
26:38Just ask Preece Hall.
26:40For you personally,
26:41what haven't you shown
26:42that you would like to show?
26:47I think it's a lot.
26:48Like, I feel like, for me,
26:49I was having this conversation
26:53a few days.
26:54Like, I feel like
26:55I'm the only running back
26:56that's consistently a top 10
26:57back in the league
26:58that hasn't in the past
27:01been always in the most ideal situation.
27:03So, I feel like now,
27:05you know, AG and Mooj,
27:07like, you know,
27:08I feel like they really
27:08put me in position
27:09with all the guys we brought in
27:11and the team we're building around us
27:12to really flourish
27:13and for me to really be myself.
27:15So, you know, God willing,
27:18you know, we stay healthy
27:19and everything and everything
27:19goes as planned.
27:20I feel like this could be
27:21my best season for sure.
27:23I absolutely love that.
27:24That is incredible from Preece Hall.
27:26And I said he is worth
27:27every single penny.
27:28After that was official
27:30and what a move by the Mooj man
27:31giving Preece Hall all that bread.
27:34And how about the Miami Dolphins
27:35last night doing the same thing
27:37with Devon Achan?
27:38That is a terrific move
27:39by the Miami Dolphins.
27:41And the Dolphins
27:42are doing everything right
27:44this offseason.
27:45They're breaking it down
27:46to build it back up.
27:47They give Malik Willis a contract.
27:49Achan gets a contract.
27:51They're going to run the ball
27:52with authority.
27:53They're not going to be
27:53any good this year,
27:54but they're doing it right.
27:55And take a look at these
27:56running back deals
27:57this offseason.
27:59Achan, four years, 64 mil.
28:01Travis Achan with the New Orleans Saints
28:03gets four years and 52 mil.
28:06Breeze Hall, three years, 45.75 mil.
28:11And Kenneth Walker, the third,
28:14comes in fourth
28:15in terms of the monetary value.
28:17But obviously,
28:18that was a terrific pickup
28:19by Kansas City.
28:2243.05 mil.
28:23And honestly,
28:24this is terrific.
28:26The running back, to me,
28:27is ridiculously valued.
28:29I think you run to win.
28:31When you look at these guys,
28:33they can all catch it
28:34out of the backfield,
28:35especially Breeze Hall
28:37and the Achan's.
28:39They absolutely can do that.
28:40Walker is tough and physical
28:42and perfect
28:43when you look at
28:44a complimentary part
28:45and piece for Patrick Mahomes
28:46throwing the football
28:47in Kansas City.
28:48So, I love this.
28:50I think it's smart.
28:52I think it's legit.
28:53You know,
28:53you look at what happened
28:54with Saquon Barkley
28:55a few years ago,
28:56Christian McCaffrey
28:57a few years ago,
28:58Derrick Henry
28:59a few years ago,
29:00and drafting Ashton Jenthy
29:02early in the draft last year
29:04and Jeremiah Love
29:05early this year.
29:07Running back is back
29:07and not a moment too soon.
29:09So, I think this is
29:11pretty amazing.
29:12I think it's supremely smart.
29:13I don't think it's a blip.
29:15I think it's a trend.
29:16And all these guys
29:17are not just running backs.
29:19They're weapons.
29:20That's the difference.
29:22Weapons getting paid
29:23at the running back position.
29:24I love every single second of it.
29:27Time to shine on baseball
29:28where it was another start
29:29for the pitching version
29:31of Shohei Ohtani
29:32and more of the same results.
29:34Here's Dave Roberts.
29:37You've seen,
29:37we've all seen
29:38that transformation
29:39and he wants to be
29:41the best pitcher in baseball.
29:43And, you know,
29:44right now he's doing it.
29:46And so you can tell
29:47he's hyper-focused on,
29:49you know,
29:49the preparation part of it
29:50and then obviously
29:52the days that he starts
29:53the execution.
29:54What Shohei Ohtani
29:56is doing
29:56is absolutely incredible.
29:58And ERA,
30:00you have to squint to see.
30:03.82?
30:04I mean,
30:05this right here,
30:06it shades
30:06of Fernando Valenzuela
30:08and his .29 start
30:11at this stage
30:11in the season
30:12back to Fernando
30:13mania
30:13in 1981.
30:15And when you look
30:16at Ohtani
30:17and what he did
30:18to stop the bleeding
30:19last night,
30:20that was a big deal.
30:21The ultimate ace,
30:23Asai Young,
30:24steps to the bump
30:25and says,
30:26guys, get on my back,
30:26boys, we're not
30:27going to lose this game.
30:28And the Dodgers
30:28were scuffling.
30:29They had lost
30:30multiple series.
30:31They lost to the Giants,
30:32which is unacceptable
30:33when you look at
30:34the Giants being
30:35an inferior team,
30:36Giants with a blood rival.
30:37This was huge.
30:38By the way,
30:40Mookie Betts
30:41also hit a home run.
30:42By the way,
30:43this is why,
30:44big picture,
30:44I'm not worried about
30:45the Dodgers
30:46in any way,
30:47shape,
30:47or form.
30:48And when you look
30:49at the Cy Young odds,
30:52this is pretty cool,
30:53right?
30:54Just look at the top
30:55two on the list.
30:56And by the way,
30:57I wouldn't sleep
30:58on anyone here,
31:00but when you can
31:01place a bet
31:02on Skeens or Ohtani
31:03for Cy Young
31:04and that's going
31:05to be the race,
31:06that's pretty
31:07unbelievable stuff.
31:08The New York Yankees
31:10got a bit of a scare
31:11yesterday afternoon
31:12when Max Fried
31:13had to leave the game
31:14with an injury
31:14to his throwing elbow.
31:16But Max doesn't
31:17seem too worried.
31:19They had mentioned
31:20that you're going
31:20to go back
31:21for imaging tomorrow.
31:22Just how concerned
31:23are you about
31:24what that might show?
31:26I guess you never know,
31:28but I mean,
31:28I'm definitely planning
31:31on this thing
31:32being a sooner
31:33rather than later.
31:34Don't want to put
31:35any timelines
31:35or anything like that.
31:36Obviously,
31:37we'll find out tomorrow,
31:38but yeah,
31:41where everything is
31:42and the initial testing,
31:46I'm not too worried
31:48about a super long-term thing.
31:51If I can,
31:52I would love
31:53to be able
31:53to make my next start,
31:54but we'll see.
31:56So, all I heard
31:58was elbow and Max Fried.
32:00That's it.
32:01Now, what Fried said
32:02made me take
32:03a little breath.
32:06I think the devil
32:07is going to be
32:08in the medicals,
32:09devil is going to be
32:10in the details here.
32:12Also, I'm obsessed
32:13with Max Fried.
32:14Max Fried is my guy.
32:15He's a stud.
32:16You know,
32:17Schlittler has better stuff,
32:19but Max Fried is
32:20the ultimate ace,
32:22co-ace.
32:23You know,
32:23whenever you start
32:24talking about the Yankees
32:25and why they can win
32:26the American League,
32:27win the World Series,
32:28it starts with the pitching.
32:29It starts with Max Fried.
32:30He obviously has earned
32:31the pinstripes
32:32in terms of pitching big
32:33and big spots
32:34and big moments
32:35and big games
32:36when a World Series
32:36in Atlanta
32:37checks every single box,
32:39right?
32:39I mean,
32:39it's about as great
32:40as it gets.
32:42Just need to make sure
32:43he's okay.
32:43Second consecutive start,
32:45he hasn't been great.
32:46Anytime it's Fried
32:47in an elbow,
32:49I'm always a little bit
32:50concerned,
32:51but Max Fried has
32:53stole my guy.
32:54He stole my dude,
32:55and I am not worried
32:57unless the Yankees
32:58tell me to be worried.
32:59By the way,
33:00are we allowed to talk
33:01about Anthony Volpe
33:02going 0 for 3
33:03and making an error
33:05yesterday?
33:06Are we allowed
33:06to have that conversation?
33:07I didn't hear
33:08from any of the Volpe
33:09truthers on YouTube,
33:10on Instagram,
33:13on X,
33:13telling me to stop
33:14ripping Anthony Volpe.
33:15I didn't hear any of that.
33:17I didn't hear any of that.
33:20Volpe needs to be
33:21in the minors
33:21where he belongs.
33:22But wait,
33:22there's more.
33:25Schedule release show
33:26will be happening
33:27on primetime,
33:288 to 10 p.m. Eastern
33:29on May 14th.
33:32That's a great day.
33:33Great day.
33:33We're going to learn
33:34so much here today.
33:37I got to tell you,
33:38I live for schedule release.
33:40I really do.
33:40It's one of my favorite days.
33:42I love it in terms
33:43of the excitement
33:44for the upcoming season.
33:46I love it in terms
33:47of the energy.
33:48I am just obsessed
33:50when it comes to
33:51watching that show
33:53that our friend
33:53Peter Schrager,
33:54you heard Pat McAfee
33:55just talk about it.
33:56He's going to be there
33:57with the cast of thousands
33:58on ESPN.
34:00It's a holiday.
34:01We'll tomorrow
34:02on Shine Time
34:03have some picks
34:03and predictions
34:04and wins and losses
34:05on my radio show
34:07on SiriusXM
34:07on Friday morning.
34:08We're going to talk
34:09to Ani Bose,
34:09one of the three gentlemen
34:10who put the schedule
34:12together.
34:12So this is really
34:14awesome stuff.
34:14I live for it.
34:16A couple things
34:16I'll be looking for tonight.
34:18Bengals.
34:18How many Bengals games
34:19in prime time?
34:20I'm very high
34:21on Cincinnati this year.
34:22I think Joe Burrow
34:23is going to be back.
34:24I'll be curious to see
34:25what the league does
34:26with Aaron Rodgers.
34:27Do they think he's going
34:28to be the Pittsburgh Steelers
34:29quarterback?
34:30And where do the Raiders
34:31fit into the puzzle?
34:32I'm very high
34:32on the Raiders this year.
34:33But at the end
34:35of the day
34:37you still have to look
34:38at the Kirk Cousins
34:40component.
34:40If it was Fernando Mendoza
34:42and the Raiders,
34:43great.
34:43You can just put them
34:44against rivals
34:45in prime time.
34:46I bet the Raiders
34:47get two prime time games.
34:49I'm going to be very curious
34:50to see where they are,
34:51who they're against,
34:51and how many prime time games
34:53the Raiders
34:54ultimately get.
34:55That's the show.
34:56If you missed any portion
34:56of the show,
34:57just do what I do.
34:58And re-watch it over
34:59and over and over again
35:00near the Post 422 page,
35:01California Post 422 page.
