00:00Hey, it's Meltdown along with...
00:01Hello, it's Jade.
00:02And we're here for Meltdown and Jade's Moronic Movie Review.
00:06And this one's a little bit different because we didn't know what we were watching.
00:09See, MJR on select Mondays has these $5 mystery movie nights.
00:14All we knew is that it was rated R, so I was hoping for a horror film and she was
00:19not.
00:19So the movie is called Tuner.
00:21The synopsis is a talented piano tuner's meticulous skills for tuning pianos
00:26leads him to discover an unexpected aptitude for cracking saves, turning his life upside down.
00:32So the main actors, Leo Woodall, he was in the second season of White Lotus.
00:36He was in a couple limited series, One Day and Vladimir.
00:39Big fan of Leo Woodall.
00:41I would watch this man watch paint dry.
00:44Havana Rose Liu, Dustin Hoffman, and Tova Feldsha.
00:47Remember I said last night she looked really familiar.
00:50She's been in a ton of stuff.
00:51Most recently, she is the mom in the series Nobody Wants This.
00:55The guy's got this hearing issue.
00:57He's kind of allergic to loud noises.
00:59So he wears earplugs and sometimes he puts these headphones over his head not to hear these noises.
01:04But he's meticulous and his hearing is superb.
01:08So that's why he can tune his pianos and he's a gifted piano player.
01:12Well, then why wasn't he playing?
01:13He wouldn't play the piano the whole time, the whole movie.
01:16They're like, play the piano.
01:17And he's like, no, I'm good.
01:18And then he'd explain.
01:19He's like, I'm disabled.
01:21Like, I can't hear.
01:21I can't play.
01:22I'd be a better piano player than you.
01:24Yeah, perhaps.
01:25But I will tell you this much.
01:26There was a few scenes where I did catch myself looking off of the screen.
01:30I'm like, oh, God, here we go.
01:31More lovey-dovey stuff, which is not in my wheelhouse.
01:34For the record, there was not that much lovey-dovey stuff.
01:39Meltdown doesn't love a love scene, right?
01:40I do not.
01:41He hates a relationship.
01:42But you need that relationship in these sort of movies because it sets up kind of the reason why people
01:48are doing what they're doing, right?
01:50If there's not the love scene, you meet the love of your life.
01:53You've got something to live for, right?
01:54I like the soundtrack, right?
01:56So it's a piano movie.
01:57So it's very jazzy, very piano.
02:00I enjoyed that.
02:01I thought the dialogue was humorous.
02:03Between him and Dustin Hoffman, there's some pretty funny lines.
02:05Yeah, Dustin Hoffman is pretty funny.
02:06The movie's less than two hours, which for me, if you watched our last movie review, you know that's a
02:11key part for me.
02:12When watching a movie, I need it to be less than two hours.
02:14It is a little bit predictable, right?
02:17It's a classic crime heist movie.
02:18So there were some moments where I leaned over to Meltdown.
02:20He's kind of forming this relationship with this girl.
02:23I looked over to him, and I was like, yeah, this isn't going to end well.
02:25All right, I'll tell you what.
02:26Let's give it a rating out of five stars.
02:28So, Jade, go ahead.
02:30We have to do stars?
02:31I'm going to give it a 4.2.
02:35Two Reese's PCs boxes that you would get at the movie theater.
02:39Like I said, I thought it was a clever take on the crime heist movie.
02:42I thought the actors were great.
02:43The dialogue was really good.
02:45I give it a couple of thumbs up.
02:46Go see it in the theater.
02:47Now, Jade says I never give anything over four stars, but I did give the new Iron Maiden documentary four
02:52and a half stars.
02:53This is not that, by the way.
02:55I'm going to give it 3.25 stars just because I thought it was a tad predictable.
03:00The lovey-dovey stuff, I'm really not into.
03:01I thought that Dustin Hoffman's character was actually kind of funny and cute and in like an old man kind
03:07of way.
03:08And what's the lead guy's name?
03:10Leo Woodall.
03:11Yeah, I thought he was decent.
03:13So, that's my professional movie critic review.
03:17Don't forget, Tuner is going to be in theaters coming up the weekend of May 22nd.
03:22Like I said, go check it out in theaters and you can get more details online.
03:25Bye-bye.
