00:00I didn't know that that was happening. I've seen it, yeah.
00:03Welcome to Ms. Mojo. And today, we're counting down our picks for celebrity interviews that
00:08became internet punchlines due to bad takes, unexpected moments, or cringeworthy behavior.
00:14So I feel really connected to that strong, divine feminine right now.
00:20Number 10. Timothee Chalamet dissing ballet and opera. Recently, Timothee Chalamet made headlines
00:27for his controversial comments on two centuries-old art forms.
00:31And I don't want to be working in ballet or opera or, you know, things where it's like,
00:35hey, keep this thing alive, even though it's like, no one cares about this anymore.
00:39In an interview with Matthew McConaughey, the actor was discussing his generation's movie-going habits
00:44and the pressure to encourage theater attendance, but veered off topic with a hot take on ballet
00:50and opera, acknowledging that he was, quote, taking shots. He even made a joke about losing
00:55viewership. But when the clip blew up online, he was met with a tirade of criticism.
01:00I just lost 14 cents in viewership, but, um, damn, I just took shots for no reason.
01:07The internet's response quickly proved him wrong, showing Chalamet just how many people
01:12do care about classical art.
01:23Number 9. Lady Gaga's People in a Room illustration.
01:27When it comes to publicity tours, celebrities often end up answering the same questions over and over.
01:33So it isn't uncommon for actors to repeat themselves in interviews.
01:36He said, all it takes is for one person to believe in you.
01:40He said, you know, there could be a hundred people in the room and 99 don't believe,
01:45but all it takes is one. And, you know, he believed in me.
01:47However, in 2018, fans started noticing Lady Gaga had a go-to line in her press for the hit film
01:54A Star is Born. Soon, what started as a heartfelt shout-out to her co-star became an online mantra.
02:00You can have a hundred people in the room that are watching you and 99 don't believe in you,
02:03and one does, and that was him.
02:05The repetition was made even funnier by Bradley Cooper's reactions as he continued to act as
02:10if he was hearing the illustration for the very first time.
02:13And I'm just coming up with this now, that there can be a hundred people in the room,
02:18and 99 don't believe in you.
02:20Number 8. Jojo Siwa, the creator of Gay Pop.
02:24After completely rebranding her image in 2024, the former children's entertainer had several
02:29bizarre interviews and quotable moments that made the rounds online.
02:33I'm not gonna lie, my best friend on the way over was like, how you feeling?
02:36I was like, I'm, ah, ah, first night out with Wolves, here we go.
02:40Like, this, this for sure is, this is gutsy, that's for sure.
02:44However, Jojo Siwa dug herself a deep hole when she confidently declared that she was the creator
02:49of a brand new music genre that she labeled as Gay Pop.
02:53Genre is, I said it back in the day, when I first signed with Columbia, I said,
02:57I wanted to start a new genre of music. And they said, what do you mean?
02:59And I said, well, it's called Gay Pop.
03:01Shocked by the statement, the internet was quick to point out the rich history of the
03:05queer community in all music styles. Eventually, the backlash led the performer to concede that
03:10she just thought that the category deserved, quote, more attention.
03:14You're quoted as saying you invented a new genre of music.
03:18That's right. Gay pop.
03:22I think that's maybe just pop.
03:25Number seven, Mike Tyson's cheeky interview. Not only did the highly anticipated boxing match
03:31between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson break sporting viewership records on Netflix,
03:35but an unexpected clip from the event also did numbers online.
03:40What's your prediction?
03:41Vicious win.
03:42Vicious win? Thank you, Dad.
03:44Love you.
03:45Love you too.
03:45In the viral video, the 58-year-old legend is being interviewed by his son before the fight.
03:51But when he turns around, the camera shot reveals his bare backside.
03:55Hey, listen, I never thought about it because fighters, most fighters, I'm normally naked there.
04:00The surprising view of the former heavyweight champion shocked the internet, but Tyson was unfazed.
04:05He later explained that he's often completely nude, so the moment felt pretty typical for a boxer's
04:10dressing room.
04:11Um, television had really changed, huh? But that became a big thing. That's just so ridiculous.
04:17Number six, Ayo Adeburi's exclusion from a Black Lives Matter question.
04:22While known for her witty banter on red carpets, Ayo Adeburi has had her fair share of viral
04:27interviews over the last few years.
04:29So, the question was for Julia and Andrew. Now that the Me Too, Hira, and the Black Lives Matters
04:37are done, what do we have to expect in Hollywood? And what we lost if we lost something with the
04:43politically correct Hira?
04:44However, this press moment from the Venice Film Festival drew attention for a completely
04:48different reason. After her white co-stars were asked about the Black Lives Matter movement
04:53being, quote, done, she chimed in to question why she wasn't included and proceeded to correct
04:58the interviewer.
04:59I know that that's not for me, and I don't know if it's purposeful if it's not me, but
05:02I just am curious. I don't think it's done.
05:05It's not done.
05:06I don't think it's done at all. I think maybe hashtags might not be used as much, but I do
05:12think that there's work being done by activists, by people every day. That's beautiful, important
05:17work.
05:18The actress later said her explanation of the importance of continued activism was
05:22actually a relevant tie-in to the themes in their film After the Hunt.
05:27And there are no rewards in death for suffering as much as f***ing possible in life.
05:32Number five, Blake Lively's body-shaming comment. Blake Lively has been surrounded by a media circus
05:38over the last couple of years. Her behavior in interviews has earned the actress criticism
05:43for a wide range of reasons.
05:45So if someone understands the themes of this movie, comes across you in public, and they
05:50want to really talk to you, what's the best way for them to be able to talk to you about
05:54this? How would you recommend they go about it?
05:55Like asking for like my address or my phone number or like my location share? I could just
06:01location share you.
06:02However, one moment stands out from the rest. Amid all of the It Ends With Us drama, a tense
06:07moment from a 2016 press tour recirculated. Lively, who was pregnant at the time, didn't
06:13take kindly to being complimented on her, quote, little bump, responding in a way many found
06:18unprofessional.
06:19On your little bump.
06:21Congrats on your little bump.
06:23What about my bump?
06:26You've got two nice ones.
06:28The internet was quick to condemn her behavior, and it was only the beginning of the actress's
06:33continued controversy.
06:34I probably like six or seven people now who said that they had experiences with Blake Lively
06:40and that they could never go public with it.
06:43Number four, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo holding space.
06:48The Wicked Press Store was full of love, tears, and popular memes, like Ariana Grande's shocked
06:53facial expression.
06:54Ariana, personally, 95% of my friends met each other, found each other.
07:01I'm in a relationship because of it, through your fandom.
07:03Um, so it's like, it's, it's, it means a lot.
07:09Yet the most iconic moment came from an unexpected exchange that was so confusing that the internet
07:14immediately turned it into a viral joke.
07:16Weak people are taking the lyrics of Defying Gravity and really holding space with that
07:21and feeling power in that.
07:23When Cynthia Erivo was asked about fans holding space for some of the lyrics her character sings,
07:28neither the viewers nor the actresses could understand the conversation that followed.
07:33The unique phrase then became online lingo, and the co-stars delicately holding onto each
07:38other's fingers was the visual cherry on top.
07:41Really powerful.
07:42Mm-hmm.
07:43Yeah.
07:44That's what I wanted.
07:45Mm-hmm.
07:46Yeah.
07:49I didn't know that was happening.
07:51Number three, Kim Kardashian's advice for women in business.
07:54Whether it's refusing to take cardboard sleeves off of coffee cups or scoffing at the idea of
07:59her young son wearing a fake chain, Kim Kardashian isn't known for her down-to-earth relatability
08:05in interviews.
08:06Get your f***ing ass up and work.
08:08It seems like nobody wants to work these days.
08:11That's so true.
08:11You have to surround yourself with people that want to work.
08:15The billionaire is characterized by her lavish lifestyle, so it isn't surprising that her
08:19advice for businesswomen majorly missed the mark.
08:22After the mogul complained that, quote, nobody wants to work these days, her comment sent the
08:27internet into a frenzy.
08:29Weighing in online, calling out the privilege they say may have helped the Skims founder's
08:34success.
08:35The statement was ridiculed as out of touch and tone deaf, and it's still one of the
08:39most quotable Kardashian moments to this day.
08:42I came off of the notion and the question right before, which was, after 20 years of being in
08:48the business, you're famous for being famous, and I, my whole tone and attitude changed with
08:55the previous question that went into that question.
08:58Number two, Katy Perry's space journey.
09:01In 2025, an all-female crew embarked on a suborbital space flight, and it was heavily marketed as
09:07a revolutionary act of feminism.
09:09I mean, right now, you are officially an astronaut.
09:12Thank you so much.
09:13However, the mission earned widespread criticism for highlighting millionaires and celebrities
09:17and prioritizing an out-of-touch publicity stunt over actual scientific progress.
09:22Pop star Katy Perry was ridiculed for singing and revealing her upcoming set list in space.
09:28Her interview after landing didn't do her any favors.
09:31How do you feel?
09:32I feel super connected to love.
09:36So connected to love.
09:38I think this experience has shown me you never know how much love is inside of you, like how
09:45much love you have to give, and how loved you are until the day you launch.
09:51After the performer talked about her higher self and feeling, quote, connected to love,
09:56she said she, quote, couldn't recommend this experience more.
09:59And her strange reaction was heavily trolled online.
10:12Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
10:16Justin Bieber's I Like That Laugh.
10:18A young Biebs imitated his interviewer's unique laugh.
10:24I like that laugh.
10:27Mark Wahlberg sitting on Graham Norton's lap.
10:30The seemingly drunk actor claimed he was doing a bit.
10:33This is a nice lady.
10:39Aw, this is so inappropriate.
10:42Demi Lovato's favorite dish is a mug.
10:44Answered a question about their favorite meal with their preferred dishware.
10:47I like mugs because they're very comfortable in your hand, and they hold the hot things
10:53that you don't have to touch.
10:55Julia Fox is saying uncut gems.
10:57The actress's pronunciation of the movie title caught people's attention.
11:01Josh Safdie's muse when he wrote uncut gems.
11:04Right.
11:04Do you know what I mean?
11:05Like, things like that.
11:06Like, I think people make it seem a little more dramatic than it is.
11:09Like, you know what I mean?
11:10It's not like Van Gogh, like, type of, like, he just, he wants to dress me right now.
11:15Harry Styles and the Don't Worry Darling spit controversy.
11:19Chris Pine's reaction to Styles' answer fed it into rumors of a co-star feud.
11:24Like a real, like, you know, go to the theater, film, movie, that, you know, you kind of,
11:32the reason why you go to watch something on the big screen.
11:44Before we continue, check out this single from Sound Mojo's album, Balance.
11:49Classical music reimagined as rock, hard rock, and metal.
11:52Check out the full track and album below.
12:10Number one, Dakota Johnson calls out Ellen.
12:13This awkward interaction on the Ellen DeGeneres show has become a well-known and frequently quoted
12:18pop culture moment.
12:19You turned 30.
12:21I did.
12:21And, um, how was the party?
12:23I wasn't invited.
12:25Actually, no, that's not the truth.
12:27Ellen, you were invited.
12:28After the host joked that she hadn't been invited to Dakota Johnson's birthday,
12:32the actress chimed in with her now iconic line.
12:35She then doubled down with her dry and sarcastic humor.
12:38You've been on the show many times.
12:40And, and don't I show like?
12:44Yeah.
12:44But I did invite you and you didn't come.
12:46The interview showed Ellen, who was usually characterized as a fun and lovable public figure,
12:51being put in her place.
12:52It's now widely associated with the TV personality's eventual downfall.
12:56And although Johnson has said the online reaction is, quote, bizarre,
13:00her recognizable outfit and no-nonsense banter still live on.
13:04Do you just laugh about it?
13:06Yeah, because I don't, I'm not really on social media.
13:08I don't, I don't see these things.
13:10So to me, it's just bizarre.
13:12Which of these celebrity moments actually became iconic and which are just hard to watch?
13:17Let us know in the comments.
